H&K Scope reticle illumiNATOr. For use on Fero Z 24 Scopes (SCP-074) and the ZF 4x24 Model 2 Scope (SCP-970). When using this illumiNATOr the crosshair lights up in red so it is easier to acquire the target in daylight and low-light conditions. Imported.

Fits H&K, Hensoldt scopes and other Euro scopes, slides on the side and projects light inside to the reticle, early effort to create illuminate scopes and very effective, works on our scope SCP-074 uses and comes with standard batteries. Imported.

"Like I mention in the review on SCP-074 Hensoldt Fero Z24 Scope I bought this on a suggestion from the sales person when I order the scope. This thing lights up the crosshairs and they are easy to see when the crosshairs are lit up. I am so glad I bought this."

"I had an original Hensoldt illuminator, and I like this one better. The original was a white light that washed out during the day, and was much larger. This illuminator can't be beat!! so small & light it doesn't affect weight at all and its adjustble brightness works middle of the day, or middle of night without overpoweing."

"Ordered two of these on Mar 15 but didn't get around to mounting one on the FAL's Z24 until April 20. One unit worked OK, the other is completely useless and now I cannot return it since it's been over 30 days. The unit not working is burned out. I tried two different packs of batteries, both fresh, from two sources, cleaned the filthy contacts and the it still will not light up.If you order this, get more than one to make sure you get a functioning unit and return the rest within 30 days. Or at least test them on arrival so you won't get stuck with junk."

"I ordered this with my Fero Z24 scope for my JLD PTR-91 and it works great. I love the lighted reticle. If you have a Hensoldt scope, IMO this is essential. Highly recommended ! Great service too, Thanks, CheaperThanDirt !"

"They don't tell you this, but this Reticle Illuminator also works on the Hensoldt Telescopic Sight and the Hensoldt periscope sight for the machine gun. It's an interesting addition to all of the above. The service is great and the quality is too. What else can you ask?"

"Purchased this illuminator at the same time as a Z24 scope. Came with two sets of batteries. One set appeared to be corroded. Installed the other set and it lit right up. Fits the scope well and is easy to use. Nice and compact design compared to the OEM one. Not sure how it will hold up over time and in weather, but you can't beat the price! Thanks CTD!"

"Yet another piece of junk from Leapers!! Bought two to be on the safe side hoping at least one would be good.WRONG! neither of them worked. Checked the batteries all of them were good. Screwed the battery holder back on with the rotary switch turned on and there is a point at which the led will light up before the battery holder is screwed down all of the way. Thought about returning for an exchange but then figured I'd probably get two more just like them. Going to have to figure out how to make a spacer for both of them that will keep the battery case from screwing down all of the way, guess it's a trip to Lowes and hope That I can find a thicker \"o\" ring keep the battery case from screwing down all of the way and still keep the thing at least partially waterproof, hey CTD, if you insist on selling this Leapers crap you might want to ask them if they'd at least make something that will work out of the box. Really hate having to repair new items especially when they go on a 400.00 dollar scope mounted to a 3000.00 rifle!!!"

"Ordered this with the scope - the scope works great, but these illuminators were dead on arrival. Fits great, but they are useless if they don't light up."

"I received the illuminator which came with two set of batteries. There were no instruction on how to install the batteries, but that was a minor inconvenience.I tried the first set of batteries without any luck. I pulled them out and noted a little oxidation on one of the batteries so I tried the second set. Still no luck.I examined the contact on the unit and saw the contact inside the unit appear dull so with the tip of a screwdriver, I lightly scraped the service and tried again. The unit work with both set of batteries. Hopefully I can get to the range and try it on my scope with the different stocks (and different buffers) to see how it holds up."

"I bought two of these they both work well surprisingly but they are a little sensitive, sometimes screwing it slighty tighter made it dim out but when I loosened and it came back on, hope they will work when I go out to the range."

"You gotta clean the contact point inside of it. I got a new one to replace a nonworking one. I put batteries in and no go. Cleaned the contact point and it worked. I got the old one out and cleaned the contact points on it and it works. Now I got one for my scope and one for my range finder. Yippee!"

"Federalies Express just delivered mine and its awesome.Solid click for off and on,rheostat makes it brighter or dimer.Batteries and contacts in good shape,no need to clean.Maybe the bugs are worked out for these now. Thanks for the other reviews guys.I was prepared in case mine was a no go.Thanks CTD for another hard to find product at a great price. It really is a nice addition to my ZF!!"

"I'd been waiting for these to come back into stock since the fall of '09. Just got mine yesterday(quick shipping) and they all light up just fine with no issues. I'm taking them to the range tonight for some low-light shooting. What a bargain too. The ones from HK run about $70! Buy 'em cheap and stack 'em deep."

"Slid right on my Henzholdt scope and illuminates the reticle nicely. It locks in place too. The only odd thing is the batteries go in with the '+' toward the spring. Brightness adjustment works and overall a great addition."

"It works, but just barely. I could only detect a hint of light under street lamps at night, and it works well enough when there isn't enough light to see your target.Just don't expect this to work like a tritium tubed M4 model scope I work with professionally."

"I bought two of these for my Z24 just in case one didn't work. The first unit will light up, but it goes on and off with minor bumping, so I would never put it on my rifle as it can't be trusted to stay on. The second one stayed lit, but in both cases neither one lit up my reticle. I saw a photo on the net of a nice, reddish glowing reticle, but mine doesn't have any tint of color whatsoever. Makes me wonder if something is out of whack with the little glass port on my scope that the beam projects into. The reticle is very fine on the scope, and a bit hard to see for my old eyes. I was looking forward to the illumination. I will now look for a real German illuminator."

"I read all the other iffy reviews, but still bought one for my Z-24 scope. Purchased in October 2010. The rheostat switch worked fine upon receipt, so I mounted it on my scope. Was going to finally take it to the range on my PTR-91 rifle. But after sitting in my gunsafe for five months, the switch was dead. With the cap off, I shorted the metal threads on the body to the batteries and the light worked. But after replacing the switch/cap, no amount of tightening, bumping, swearing, etc could get that switch to work. Now it is beyond ninety days and too late to return. Very disapointing."
