Mule Folder, Straight Edge Knife -
This heavy duty piece of equipment is the folding knife's answer to the traditional KA-BAR fixed blade. Sturdy construction and pure heft ensure this knife will withstand any test you dare put it through.

Clip Blade -
The clip blade is a classic shape and very practical. Its name describes a shape that seems to have a portion of the spine of the blade clipped off. This brings the blade point lower for extra control and enhances the sharpness of the tip. It provides ample "belly" in the blade for slicing or skinning and a good tip for inserting in and under things that need to be cut. You will often find a false edge with the clip point.

AUS 8 -
A Japanese made medium-carbon, high chromium stainless steel, which offers a good balance of toughness, edge sharpness and corrosion resistance.

Lockback -
Folding knife that has a lock release on the back of the handle.

Hollow Ground -
The ground surface of the blade is concave and used to create a fine cutting edge.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

"The knife itself is excellent, although I did have to take it to a gunsmith to get the belt clip off because it was attached with some micro-sized star head screws that no normal person has a tool to fit.It doesn't go in the sheeth very well with the clip on it, and at first it was hard to pull it out even without the clip because it was so snug, but it loosened up with time. All in all it is a well built, robust knife, and I highly recommend it."

"The knife is awesome. i had it for a while and it has been like an extension of my arm, it will chop and cut trough anything...since it is not magic it does get dull eventually (DUH!!!) but still premium product. But, once you take it out of the box you can shave with it.once it is locked it is as solid as a regular knife, there is no play in the blade and nothing is loose a true surgical precision, and thick blade makes it really rugged. the clip is kinda annoying but the holster is designer to hold the knife in a certain orientation (once on the belt i think the clip goes on the outside and to the opening of the sheath rather than first in. it is almost impossible to put the knife in any other way without damaging the sheath) and once you get a hang of it, actually, holster is not all that bad, but i still liked carrying it in the pocket better.A++, as thy say, really a knife for people that know what thy want."

"I was surprised by the size of the knife once i took it out of the box. I says it's a 3-13/16 inch blade, but I measured it at 3-1/4 inch. The feel of the blade is nice, it feels well made and the sound of it locking reassures you it's locked. The blade came sharp, but i made it razor sharp. I like the sheath, but you'll have to break it in (i left the knife in there for a good 20 minutes.) and the sheath will work just fine. For the size of the knife it fits and feels good in a jean's pocket; you can't really tell you have this bulky knife in your front or back pocket either. All in all, the knife is great; this has really made me fond of Ka-Bar knives. I only wish the blade was 4 inches in length."

"Ka-Bar's are the sharpest knives out of the box I have ever owned. I now own six of them (two of the mules). I would recommend them to anyone. They are consistent in their quality, both the fit and finish aspects of it, and they are very robust. I must also say...to the reviewer who claimed to have received it sharp but \"made it razor sharp\"...all due respect but I don't see them getting any sharper unless you got a bad one or something. I mean the one overriding theme of ALL the reviews is the initial sharpness of these knives!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!"

"this knive is what the others say about it , it does come vary sharp right out of the box allthough the clip on the knive does make it difficult slideing it into the sheth it does fit. when i got this knive i inspected it closely and found a couple of screws missing out of the handel (was fixed easly).the knive (mule) is vary strong and durable (it will take a beating)...the only reason i did not give it 5 stars was the screws missing other than that it is a strong and durable knive hence the name MULE.."

"This is a great knife. I carry it every day. It is sharp right out of the box. Everything you expect from Ka-Bar."

"This is a great knife. Comes sharp but the lock is fairly weak. The lock will fail under medium stress, but for normal use whether utility or self defense it is a great knife. I recommend this."

"This is an excellent knife if you want a heavy duty folding knife. The blade is perfect and came very sharp. I touched it up a little bit on a strop but this may have been unnecessary. This knife is heavy. It is the upper limit for EDC in terms of size and weight. The handle is the heavy part of the knife. When locked, it feels like fixed blade. Mine is a little hard to open one handed but I think it will break in. I am not a big fan of the sheath. It allows you endless ways to attach the knife but it is bulky with all of the straps. I clip mine into cargo pants and it works great. I hope Kabar will always make this knife but I would love to see a new model with the identical blade and a lighter and smaller handle. If want indestructible folding knive, just buy it."
