KA-BAR Plain Bowie Blade Fixed Knife -
A group of knives that have been in the Ka-Bar product line since the early 1900's. These knives remain favorites of sportsmen everywhere. Extra-thick blades measuring .236 (6mm) make these knives almost as rugged as pry bars. The Heavy Bowies will perform well at chopping, digging, cutting, and in other tough applications.

Bowie Knife -
Single edged steel hunting knife, about 15 inches (38 centimeters) in length, having a hilt and a crosspiece.

Kraton G Thermoplastic Elastomer -
Referred to simply as Kraton, is a man made material resembling rubber that can be molded into knife handles. Knife provides a non slip grip.

"I used this knife on an early Archery deer hunt this year (2007). I was very impressed with the knife right out of the box. The blade is 1/4\" thick at the spine and has a full tapered grind witch makes for a very nice edge angle. It took less than 5 minutes to take the factory edge from very sharp to razer sharp with a hard Arkansas stone. Performance wise in the state I live in you must retain the hide and the head when transporting any large game animal. So after skinning and dressing out a nice whitetail Doe I had taken with my bow I removed the Does head with 1 medium speed smooth swing and really noticed no resistance as the blade split a neck bone cleanly in haft. I inspected the edge after the cut and found no damage or dulling for that mater. It was much cleaner, easier and faster than using a bone saw. I used the same process on all 4 deer that my Dad and I took this year with the same result every time. This knife is definitely a keeper."

"I have many Ka-bar knives and this one is the coolest, sharpest and most reliable. I got lost in the Dismal swamp and all I had was this knife, one MRE, my hunting rifle and a centeen. This knife made my shelter, skinned a deer, killed a rattel snake and most of all saved my life. I was out there for 6 days and the knife never got dull. Thank you ctd and there prices!"

"I have put this knife to the test and it has proven itself worthy. Never have I used a knife this tough. I have chopped, hacked, and abused this knife so much it should'nt even have held up, but it still has a decent edge and none of the coating has come off. I highly recommend this knife to any person who spends time in the wilderness like me. Beleive me when I tell you....this knife will do anything."

"This 9\" blade knife is well made, solid - for the price, buy 3 instead of an RTAK for $100-120+, I bought this one from CTD, and found the Shorter 7 3/8 blade version as well, and just procured that one...they are made in Taiwan, but for a 1085 chunk of steel, very nearly 1/4 inch in thickness its one brutal piece of metal. For a little over 40 bucks, its a great deal for any survivalists inventory. This knife is massive. Tested some chopping, its very good. Get em while they still make em at this price point, you will be satisfied with the value."

"Very nice knife, super sharp too! I really like the handle and it's quite comfortable. Not too crazy about the sheath, but I didn't buy it for the sheath anyway. This thing is a mean monster let me tell ya. I cut a bunch of palm tree branches at my Mom & Dad's house and afterward it still sliced thru a sheet of paper like nobody's business. I have been using Ka-bar knives for a long time now and they never seem to let me down. It's a really great knife for the price!"

"Now this is an outdoorsmans must! You can do absolutely anything with this beast and it just smiles back at you like your it's little sister!! I've cut down trees, dug trenches, skinned and dressed game, split firewood, even driven stakes with it. Holds a decent edge for a long time. Buy this and put it to work!"

"The blade will hold a good edge, the handle is solid, nothing we wouldn't expect from Ka-Bar. The sheath is not bad, I love the free swing when unsnapped. It would be nice to have kydex retention, but for the price its unbeatable. Good luck finding a better setup for less than fifty bucks, thanks CTD."

"I own three of these. Regardless of price, this knife is very heavy duty and stands up to lots of abuse. I'm hard on my knives and this one will stand up to more abuse than you can give it. And, for the $, I don't feel bad when I beat the blade through a 4\" log. Keep this in your camping gear and/or bug out bag and be confident it will get the big jobs done."
