The Iver Johnson Thrasher is a compact, easy to carry 1911 handgun with a host of features far beyond its price. Tiny 1911 handguns are notorious for being unreliable, but the Thrasher puts any such fears to rest with the two stage recoil system. A beavertail grip features a memory bump, for positive depression of the safety when it matters most. The low profile Novak style sights are perfect for target shooting, competitions, and self defense. Finally, thin line angled serrations located on the front and rear of the slide ensure a solid grip, no matter what.

"Bought this after looking for a reasonably priced small frame 1911. Other reviews seemed pretty positive, so I took a gamble. Well worth the risk. Great little gun. Heavy enough not to jump around, small enough to easily conceal carry. Two small issues: when I received the gun, it was packed in so much oil that it had to be stripped down and cleaned. The sight needed to be adjusted a bit (not a surprise, just one more step). Definitely worth the purchase. Will buy the full size next. Just can't beat the price."

"The Iver Johnson 1911 Thrasher 45acp was exactly what I was looking for. A very hansom pistol that makes a bold statement with its tough, traditional 1911 looks. It's compact with a full size grip. Great fit and finish with crisp movement of all parts. The picture shown doesn't do enough justice for this gun. A few friends have asked me if this was going to be a showcase gun. Almost makes a guy not want to fire it...nah. That's not what it's for."

"Overall, this is a very nice sub compact 1911. THE only drawbacks I can see so far are: 1. Seems to have issues chambering hollow point ammo, right out of the box; may need a little work/break in. 2. The supplied ACT magazine will not allow the slide catch to be released on an empty mag; I have not had this issue with my CMC mags, however the ACT mag does feed properly aside from that. All in all, I am still very happy with this purchase."
