"Upper in good shape very little internal wear , BCG also very little wear , Stock and Hand guards pretty scratched and dinged (as expected) but nothing a fine grit piece of sand paper and some elbow grease won't solve in about a half hour , gas tube could be used but a little bent and burned (as expected) will replace with new , all fire control parts are there and also very little wear (except auto sear not-included but not needed and not legal) , pins springs etc all appear to be there , buffer and spring in VERY good shape , does not have flash hider crush washer or barrel but , but did come with two (and very surprised with this!) Original Colt pre-green follower 30s ! All I need is a A1 .625 barrel (or a A2 to lathe down to .625 - .600) and a decent receiver (LRB am thinking ?) and a little cleaning and building and should have a Semi-auto mostly Colt M16A1 in semi !"

"I have a couple of AR's, and have worked on them fairly confidently. This is going to be my first build up. Realistically, you will need the proper barrel, barrel extension, and pin, and a lower. My upper was pretty worn, with a broken windage adjustment drum. The buttstock plate was cracked where the buffer screw goes through it. I'm also replacing the gas tube, and most of the pins and springs. Buffer tube and spring are fine. Furniture good, just needs some sanding. The 2 mags are Colt, but very old and worn. No finish left on them, my Marine brother called them 'gold mags'; he'd only seen such worn equipment in bootcamp. As I gather more tools, knowledge, and find a good gun parts re-finisher, the excitement level builds! Can't wait to have an A1 clone. Thanks CTD!"

"Most parts seem to be all there. Expected used, but not damaged. Forearm piece was cracked. Dust cover had a corner bent over and the spring was broken. Buttstock plate missing screws. Will need considerable TLC."
