Hornady has been an industry leader in high performance ammunition for decades. When the demand came for a better self defense round, Hornady answered the call with their Critical Defense line. All Critical Defense ammunition is loaded with the FTX bullet that features a hollow point with a polymer tip to maximize ballistic performance and reliable expansion. The FTX's unique designs allow it to feed reliably in pistols. Critical Defense brass cases have been nickel plated to prevent corrosion and make it significantly easier to see in low light environments. Hornady offers Critical Defense ammunition in most pistol calibers. Join the ranks of people who trust Hornady to defend themselves.

"Excellent ammo! Very manageable recoil and accurate in my LCP I trust this ammo for Self Defense."

"I'm sorry to report bad results with a respected brand like Hornady. But I've been firing these out of my MPA Protector II. I've had four serious malfunctions -- two squib rounds (one of which lodged in the barrel, very dangerous obviously) and two fractured/shattered cases that embedded pieces into the barrel, which became obstructed and had to be cleared. Stovepipes and FTF can be weapon-related, but these malfunctions I blame on the ammunition."
