Hornady has been an industry leader in high performance ammunition for decades. When the demand came for a better self defense round, Hornady answered the call with their Critical Defense line. All Critical Defense ammunition is loaded with the FTX bullet that features a hollow point with a polymer tip to maximize ballistic performance and reliable expansion. The FTX's unique designs allow it to feed reliably in pistols. Critical Defense brass cases have been nickel plated to prevent corrosion and make it significantly easier to see in low light environments. Hornady offers Critical Defense ammunition in most pistol calibers. Join the ranks of people who trust Hornady to defend themselves.

"I just put 15 of these through my S&W 442. They sure do snap in a little snub nose! I switched back to non +P after the 15. I haven't had a chance to test expansion, but have seen the tests people do online, and they look like they expand great! And the force from the +P has the power, definitely. This is going to stay my SD ammo for the bedside snubbie for a very long time."

"It goes bang every time. My GP100/SP101 are a delight to shoot with it. If .357 magnum is a little too much for you, .38 +p is a great choice."

"First, I want to warn people if you have a short barreled revolver, like I do, the round will NOT have enough velocity to properly expand. This is a great self defense round to use on a 38/357 with at least a 3 inch barrel. The recoil for this round feels just right, especially out of a friend's 3 inch revolver. I like the design of the expansion. Luckily I haven't had the occasion to find out if it really works against people, and want it to stay this way. The round functions correctly, and should expand well. I like everything about it."
