"this is an excellent poncho. I got it for work and the first time i used it was that big storm in California where we got 5 inches in one day. It worked great except if the wind is blowing anything below your knees will get soaked. All i need is a pair of OD Green waterproof pants and i'll be completely dry."

"Mine is a rather thin PVC layer and a nylon layer stitched together for strength. Not as heavy as the military ponchos I have, but I would say that is good. It is less weight to carry. The nylon layer gives it the strength VS the super heavy PVC of the genuine military ponchos. The hood is tight even though I have a small head. Not bad for me, but guys with a melon head will be out of luck."

"The best way I can describe the material of this poncho is that it is a pvc coated nylon material, much like most waterproof tents. The poncho is only one sided, not to say it isn't still waterproof inside-out, but the OD Green nylon finish is only on the outside, and inside has the pvc coating (lighter in color). It seems pretty durable (haven't had opportunity to use it yet), and it does have some considerable weight to it. All in all, I'm happy with the product."
