Simply put, this is some of the best ammo with a steel case on the market today, at an unbelievably great price! Get the reliability of brass, the cost of steel, and the performance of the Bear!

The Barnaul Machine Plant JSC is one of the leading producers of industrial goods and ammunition in Russia. The plant's history goes far in the past to the period of Alexander I. The Emperor ordered the opening of the first cartridge plants in St. Petersburg in 1869. During World War I the plant supplied the Russian Army and operated out of St. Petersburg, During World War II, the plant was relocated to Barnaul, where production of various types of cartridges began.

Distinctly different than anything else on the market, Golden Bear's name describes it's color but not its' unique construction; in which a brass coating encases the steel case. This design allows the ammunition to perform like a brass case at a fraction of the cost. Berdan priming allows for long-term shelf life and sure-fire ignition.

"This is fantastic ammo. It shoots really well, is cleaner and more accurate than Wolf, and because of the weight and hollow point, can make for excellent deer hunting ammo. I recently took down a large doe using the Golden Bear 62gr HP. The brass plating makes it not only look good, but feed really well, also. I definately keep this is stock and Im loading up as much as possible before January comes around."

"after about 50 rounds through the mini 14 this stuff is great. tore up two pumpkins and a milk carton full of water looking forward to hunting with it. not sure about accuracy yet still have to sight in rifle."

"I ran several boxes of this ammo through an AR that did not like other brands of Russian ammo. It ran great and seemed to be pretty accurate."

"I have shot about 60 rounds through my DPMS panther bull 24 with no problems. Preliminary groups of about 2 inches at a 100 yards however I consider my barrel to still be in the break in period.I will say that this bullet loves to seak and destroy coyotes!I am not sure about the accuracy at this point due to the barrel break in. I have made coyote kills at 330 yards and missed at 200 yards...go figure (more than likely the shooter-not the gun or bullet)I recently purchased another 100 rounds due to price. I can throw more of these at the coyotes...my AR loves to eat these up."

"I bought 200 rds of this and will buy more. Avg. 3 shot groups at 100 meters was excellent. 4 out of 5 groups were under 1 inch. With 2 at just under .5 inches center to center. As good as the accuracy I get from 69 gr sierra match kings for 1/3 of the price."

"This ammo worked just fine in my new S&W M&P-15a. I cleaned the rifle per instructions, then went out and shot 120 rounds. No FTF, no FTE, no duds."

"Used today on my brand new Ruger Mini 14/20 Ranch Rifle. No duds/misfire. Good price for a good round. Will buy again."

"Bought the first couple boxes of this ammo before,i even picked up my bushmaster ar-15, and it preformed well for the price. With no jams or miss fires. no idea about shot groups besides hitting a 3x5 card consistantly at 75 yards off hand no optics.."

"Ammo fired smooth from my Bushmaster AR-15. A lot better than Wolf!! My only complaint is that shipping LITERALLY cost more than the box of rounds. Sell these by bulk and I'll buy them... $299 per 1000... You'll sell a lot, and make some on every purchase. You'll make everyone happy. I'll be the first of hundreds in line to buy!!!"

"It is much better than Wolf but that isnt hard to beat. The lack of shalacking and sealers makes it much less dirty and causes less gumming of the action in my DPMS AP4. you can not beat it for the price and \"quality\". That being said, i would not rely on it for any serious shooting (home protection, competition). I had 2 cases eject with splits down the side and the final round did not feed properly out of one 30 rnd mag. The other 120+ i shot that day were without incident. I did shoot it in my Savage bolt gun and found better accuracy through it. The barrel twist rate in it works better with the 62 grain weight and since it is an HP, i used it for very effectively sending a few groundhogs to hog heaven!!!!"

"I put about 120 of these through my DPMS AR this weekend, not a single complaint. Wish they had more in stock right now."

"I ran through about 10 boxes of this stuff through my CMMG AR-15. It groups just fine at 100 yards, and out of 200 rounds, only two were thrown. However, it is incredibly dirty. The rounds leave a disgusting residue on your hands as you load them up, so I would recommend not only cleaning the gun after use, but the mag as well. Using a variety of mags (Tapco Polymer, MagPull Polymer, DPMS aluminum, and CMMG steel) I had almost ALL of the rounds not cycle properly. While this is okay if you're spending a lot of time at the range, it's obviously a problem for home defense or anything of that sort. Surprisingly, the barrel was not as dirty as the look of the mags would lead me to believe. That said, I've used Brown Bear ammo before and I loved that, so I'm thinking I may have just had bad luck with this batch."

"This is the best cheap ammo I've shot. I tried the wolf and my Bushmaster didn't like it but the Golden Bear stuff shoots great."

"Bought 200 rounds - not a misfire in the batch. Definately dirty. I reccommend cleaning your AR after use. Brass plating on the case keeps the jamming from occurring. I would buy again for blasting at the range."

"This bear ammo is great. Brown Bear is a bit better, but hey, when is CTD going to get this ammo back in stock? Please get it back. My AR-15s eat this stuff up!"

"First 20rds was good.I think either the powder or maybe because it's hollow point made my gun barrel very hot.I was not shooting fast and only out to 50yds. After completion I felt the heat on my leg and nearly burned some skin.I have shot 55gr and 50gr hollow point before and those ammo brands did not make the gun as hot after only 20rds.Shot 60rds at 25yds and got a good group.Low and to the right using iron sights.Hollow point does good work on milk cartons filled with water."

"Bushmaster 5.56 and returning from range where I used three different ammos today. Surprise! This was the best performing of the bunch with the tightest group at 100 yards (5 of 10 shots hit a dot the size of a quarter). It outperformed two higher priced ammos and I'll happily buy more of this."
