"Worth the money and more. I have used this pack for about for a couple of years and I can tell you the Germans knew what they were doing. It is well built, and the side pockets work great for holding ammo boxes or water bottles."

"To be honest, for only six dollars I expected a six dollar backpack. Not only was I wrong, but I was very pleased. This thing was BIG and in great condition ! I think I'll buy another......."

"At only six bucks apiece, I couldn't resist buying four of them. Two of them were virtually new, the other two in very good shape as advertised. Much better made than many commercial packs costing much more. I've seen this pack selling for five times the price on other sites."

"Until I got an expensive Swiss Tech pack I used this surplus one exclusivly. Still hangs in a spot of honor in my garage. Side pockets are large and easy to access. rain resistant with a water proff bottom. Small and light."

"I have an earlier version that I bought for $20 about fifteen years ago. I has had regular use and still shows no sign of failing seams, etc. It is obviously worn, but still has at least another fifteen years worth of life in it. If my back-order gets filled, I'm looking forward to this new version, since it has quick clips instead of buckles."

"I have used mine for hunting for about 5 years now, will probably last another 50. One of the best bargains I have come across. I could have paid $20 and I still would have been satisfied."

"Bought 3 of these and two of them are quite greasy and quite dirty. Just handling them was enough to put tons of dirt on my hands. I'd pass on these and get something new. It's just not worth getting the dirty bags that they sent me."

"I bought one of the packs a couple of years ago and loved it, so I recently purchased five more. For the price you pay you cannot beat them. They are just the right size, not too large to get in your way and big enough to carry a fair amount of gear or clothing. One of the packs I received appears to be new and the rest are in very good shape and clean."

"This pack is great, I carry this when I hunt and is super durable and is the perfect medium between a butt pack and my huge A.L.I.C.E. pack. On mine the pack is in perfect condition except some of the bukles are hard to adjust. I am a camping and hunting enthuseist that has a house full of surplus and camping gear and this is the best all around packs I have seen."

"This is my third order! My college-age kid and all her college pals love this bag ... and so I keep them supplied in them. It's rather 'retro-chic' but more importantly it fits the lap-top just right and can take the punishment of being kicked about in classes and over-stuffed with books, water bottles, poorly wrapped sandwiches, etc. etc. etc. And I never told them just how little I've paid for these bags or they'll think me some kind of a cheap old SOB."

"A friend of mine had purchased several of these German packs/bags. I checked them out, they looked good, bought one for myself, very pleased with the construction, color and condition. I am planning on the purchase of several more. These will make a good Bug-out-bag or crisis hand-out bag loaded with survival gear or as other have stated, a good general purpose pack/bag."

"I bought three packs. Two for the kids and one for myself. They have plenty of room and they are well built. They are a little smelly, but after washing them and airing them out they are just fine."

"I bought four of these, figuring that one or two might be in bad shape. They all are in great shape, so now I have extras! :)They have a little bit of that \"grandma's attic\" smell, but nothing to worry about. One big thing of note is that they don't all match the style shown in the picture. One uses a belt/latch style, two have the very convenient plastic snaps like the picture shows, and the last has smaller tight plastic snaps.Either way, they were all a good buy. I wish I had something like years ago, instead of blowing big bucks on a name-brand new production backpack that wasn't really any better."

"I bought 3 of these my first time since I'm very hard on equipment. These are not large enough to act as your primary pack, but act great as an assault bag. They are much more durable than standard military issue assault bags that I have used. They are easily serviceable in the field and can be easily modified with a few extra buckles for attachment and quick release from your ruck sack. Also function well as a radio bag for RTO's since it can take the extra weight of the radio, batteries, extra antennas, etc. On top of it all, you can't beat the price. All of mine came looking clean and like new with quick release buckles. I read of some complaints of the smell, but they just smell much the same as all military gear. No big deal. Well worth the buy."

"The bags I recieved were in very good condition, only very slightly used. Unreal for the $6 price. The bag is a great size between a butt pack and a large 3 day pack. I also like that it has the newer buckles instead of snaps (like ALICE packs). I would only add a sternum strap to the shoulder straps (it comes with a waist strap). Everybody is right, they are smelly, but I washed them in the wash machine which fixed that. It fixed the smell, but my particular agitator left white scuff marks scratched into the surface of the canvass, which look horrible. (Hopefully, I can re dye the bags) DO NOT machine wash them - a bucket and an overnight soak in some hunting/scent remover detergent would be best, followed by a rinse with a hose."

"\"MADE IN GERMANY\" stamped on the waterproof vinyl. Well duh. On the sewn-in label there's a 13 digit serial number, a manufacture date \"06/97\", the name of the manufacturer \"Spekon\" and directions in German for washing the thing. \"Wash in lukewarm water (if necessary with commercial detergents) wipe off with rags or sponge. Rinse well in clear water. Machine wash [untranslatable] at 104 degrees. Do not dry clean.\" I like the rugged quick-release buckles (unlike some current issue Swiss rucks), the vinyl foot of the pack, vinyl under the flap, even in the side-pockets. The waist strap is removable. A great rucksack."

"Very good bag, just arrived. canvas is very strong and it has a rubber bottom to it. You can really beat this thing up if you wanted to. the one thing that got me was the space. the picture doesn't do the bag justice. You can fit an elephant in this thing. excellent bag for pretty much anything you want to do with it. buy ten."

"I bought one of these a few years ago, when the price was actually a buck or two higher, and still use it frequently. One trip through the laundry got rid of the smell.I take this bag to gun shows and routinely carry 2,000 or more rounds of ammo on my back in this thing without problems. The first time I did this, it was raining cats and dogs the whole way back to the car from the convention center exit. I was soaked all the way through, but the inside of the bag was bone dry.I've sort of fancied these bags as a mini-duluth pack and take them canoeing all the time. If you like to go canoeing, I think you will find these bags to be just the right size to pack a lot of gear but not too much for those tough portages.I do use the D-rings at the top to fasten on my sleeping bag & bed roll when I go camping. I've even gotten a tent up there, too. No problems. The side pockets are a bit small to be useful. I was hoping to fit a USGI canteen in there but it won't quite fit. I think maybe one of those skinnier european milsurp canteens or a nalgene bottle would fit better. The buckles are fantastic, especially considering it is military surplus. They are quick connect/disconnect. The first bag I got had a bit of flimsy plastic in the buckle where the plastic broke but I was able to repair it with some plastic cement and it is right as rain. The inside of the flap had some writing in it, looked German, probably the name of the guy that the bag was originally issued to. There is a strip of velcro on the bag that fits an army-style name tape so if you want to label your bags nicely you can get velcro-backed name tapes from a number of venders, just make sure to get the Olive color fabric to match the bag more closely.I've bought a LOT of milsurp, and sorry if I am gushing but this bag is BY FAR the MOST bang for the buck out of any milsurp I've ever bought. Fantastic!"

"twenty six reviews. This pack is almost godlike, I have used it for everything and own about five of them, they are great BOB/GOOD bags, and perfect for short trips or camping ventures. they just wont die and the space is incredble. Buy as many of these packsas your can before they die off. hell buy twenty!"
