"I have one of the Garmin GPS units, as does a friend. Im pleased with it's performance overall, accurate, easy to use, although the PC interface is via serial not USB, which is slightly annoying. Recently had it out in the hills all day in the rain and mud.... worked just fine. No problems with the wetness."

"i use this for hunting, fishing, hikeing, bike rides, and so on. It works great i always make it back home, and always know where im going. the only real downfall for me is the cord for downloading maps is serial port style not usb and i dont have access to anything that will connect to that. but all in all i love it a lot."

"Between this and the Garmin MapSource United States Topo CDs this is a bogus piece of crap. This site doesn't allow for no bullets so 1 is the best this can get. All of the information on the packaging is lies and inaccurate. How anyone can use this for hiking is beyond me. The only time this would be useful is if you're in a desert or on a mountain with no trees around. Even with no trees around my \"saved tracks\" showed me on a hill about 1/8 mile away and then back within 50 yards of where I actually was a minute later. The map CDs are bogus. They can't even show a large lake having two islands on it. It's no wonder that this item is discontinued by Garmin. There is an update you can get online but it doesn't make it any better. The serial cable you need is a Radio Shack Catalog #: 55032880 for about $19. This will let it plug into any USB port."
