We found a very limited supply of brand new, unissued NATO Style five gallon steel fuel cans.

Constructed of lightweight steel with triple handles for easy tie-down. The narrow profile allows multiple cans to be stacked or tied on the bumper of a truck or Humvee. Lever-lock spill-proof lid with rubber gasket. Fuel can measures approximately 18"x13"x6.5" A thick enamel coating on the inside makes this fuel can superior to all other.

Made for years and years of rough use with any fuel, these are the gold standard for current militaries all over the world. Never before have we seen these in brand new, unissued condition and supplies are extremely limited.

"The NATO fuel cans are in perfect condition and brand new."

"Cans arrived in new condition, as advertised. I bought used ones previously when offered and wasn't dissapointed either. These have good paint inside, worth the extra money. Additionally I find them much better than the plastic junk with the akward EPA spill prone nozzles. The only thing stopping a 5 bullet rating was the packing, Fedex or someone threw them around and two got minor dents, the boxes didn't protect well enough."

"They are new-looking, heavy-duty metal NATO style (20L) metal gas cans. They seems like they were spray painted recently. The latch seems pretty lock solid. The rubber gasket also looks brand new, still shiny. I purchased the corresponding nozzle ZBQ1413 along with it and they seem to fit each other perfectly. I just wish they stamped \"NATO\" on the side of it...oh and i wish the shipping was more reasonable."

"I hate the new CARB compliant cans so much that I bought these. These are the BEST! Brand new, solid, they pour beautifully, seal air tight, and are heavy duty. You cannot go wrong with these. Get them before they are sold out. I recommend the nozzles. They are excellent also."

"Bought these after not being able to find a decent gas can. The CARB compliant kind are a hassle. These are solid, compact, and air tight. Well worth the money."

"It is nearly impossible to find a nice, sturdy fuel can any more -thanks to our nanny-state gov't and their innane attempts at 'saving the planet'. I've looked at every bricks and mortar place and everything has CARB compliant spouts, which ironically, always end-up causing fuel to spill b/c they don't work right. That is my experience, anyway. After searching local flee markets for decent old fuel cans for about a year I found these. The price ended-up being $60 after shipping, but I must say I was quite pleased w/ the quality when they arrived last week. They look like they are factory-fresh. The seal also is drum-tight and has a retaining pin to insure it does not open by accident. If you have the cash, buy one before they become contraband like 100 W light bulbs"

"Awesome, best I've ever bought. I'll be buying more tonight."

"I bought two of these to use on my expedition rig. I wouldn't go with any other gas can. You cannot find a better or easier to use fuel can. All of the CARB compliant ones are totally worthless."

"With great anticipation I received my NATO can. It's brand new made in 2006 with locking pin. The can is hunter green. These are the same cans Atlantic British sell. Shipping was great and the can was well packaged. Get them while you can."

"Received my 2 fuel cans today; yes, they are NATO issue and solid, brand new and well worth the money; I am ordering 2 more! Solid product, great service and expedient delivery and service, thanx CTD!!!"

"I bought two of these NATO 5 Gallon cans and, when received at my residence at 7000 feet, got that reassuring \"pssssst\", when breaking the seal on the cans at that altitude. I picked up two ZBQ-1413 nozzles that were compatible, and everything went on a great sale 2 weeks later... don't seem fair."

"These are the ones you want. Not the NATO Style. If you are my age (40+) you will appreciate these."

"I bought 8 of these when I was working for Nato (Loaned out from Awacs USAF) I bought them for 30 bucks a pop in 2001. I did not know anything about gas cans then. ( Sadly I gave one away ) They were NATO ones with varying dates of manufacture. They ended up being wonderful. No leaks in ten years! When I saw new unissued ones here I had to buy 5 more. Other sites are selling them used for the price I paid new at CTD.com These are the cans you want and they are new!! I bought these so I can store them in my enclosed ATV trailer and refuel my RV when I go deep in the mountains. I get no smells or leaks from these and you don't have to baby them like the plastic cans. I look at these as an investment. In a crisis you will wish you had them."

"Really good, wish they could sell these for around $35, would really stock up then."

"It is good to know that you can still get what you pay for. These are so superior to the crap plastic gas cans sold today, they can not be compared. These are everything people have said: Well built, unused, gas storage tanks. I wanted something that I can safely store and transport fuel in. I see a time in our near future, where gas might be rationed, or periodically unavailable. You don't want to have to transport gas in those plastic gas cans. These are built well enough to think of and insurance investments. If you take care of them, they will last a life time. The price is right, and the supply is limited. What are you waiting for?"

"I ordered 2 of these and so far I have had zero leaks, and no rust or paint in fuel. I also ordered 2 matching NATO spouts which do mount to the handle with supplied bracket. I would only consider these spout brackets light duty for static storage as they loosely hold the spout - I am certain the spouts would vibrate loose on any vehicle mount. While not cheap, at $160 with shipping, I do feel these are very good quality fuel cans and spouts. I will be buying more of these."

"These NATO cans are way better then those EPA approved plastic junk fuel cans the government has forced us to buy, seem to work well for long term storage with no leakage, will probably order a few more."

"These are just as advertised. Brand new and clean in and out. A little pricey, but worth it nonetheless, considering the quality and new condition."

"Oh, you can get a 5 gallon red plastic gas can for less at Academy or Amazon. Do that and you will regret your decision every time you try to use it. Suck it up and spend another few bucks for a steel can that seals properly and will last for many years. Eat dinner at home one time instead of the chain restaurant near the mall and it's paid for."

"Jerry cans, best ever engineered fuel cans, are tough to find anymore and largely suppressed by the nanny state and their legions of freeloading regulators (you can't even have them shipped to the People's Republik of Kalifornia). I have several originals that I have restored. They're tough as nails, too.So I was delighted to find these and blew a hole in my budget twice to get a set, the second time after seeing the first, which are beautifully powder coated and sturdy. HOWEVER, my wife, who is hardly a body builder, complained that she could not close the can the first time she used it. I couldn't figure out why, until I noted the hinge plate or arm that extends between the actual hinge pivot and the actual closure was badly bent. Turns out this metal is so malleable that my wife accidentally bent it while folding the cap back to attach the fuel spout. I bent it back with ease...very soft...and I know a few more bends like this and the crease will break. It may be possible to reinforce the arm by epoxying a strong piece of steel or even a large coin, or to braze or weld a reinforcing plate before the can is ever used, but I was disappointed. My genuine NATO cans are functionally tough, not just cool looking..."

"Awesome cans. They are not hard to open if you first remove the sliding lock pin prior to opening the can!"

"Well packed, delivered fast. The cans are new mfg. The OD paint is really thick and HD, made to take weather. Steel is heavy and made for long tern field use. The spout is tightly sealed and locks positively. Seal is fuel proof and HD. These cans are made for tough use for long term storage. I bought 4, going to grab 8 more. Also, I bought the quality grade spout and it's equally well made.Get them while CTD has them."

"This can is a good product. A little pricey, but the premium is based on the fact that it's unique. The color is IMO better than the photo. Mine are OD green and not as light leafy green as the photo shows, meaning the color is darker and more like OD should be. They are sturdy and set well, except that the bottom seam weld sometimes lets the can wobble slightly on uneven surfaces, such as the ribbed metal bed of a pickup truck. I find the lid very functional and it was better made than I expected. Make sure to swish around some fuel inside when they are brand new to remove any possible duff that's inside, despite the fact that these are unused. I purchased the nozzle, along with the can, and it also is made pretty well, except that the attachment cradle that comes with it is plastic and is a little less grippy in holding the nozzle to the can itself. If you bang it around, the nozzle will pop out of the cradle relatively easily. Still, its function is very good and there are other ways to make this more secure. The can's top handles are very, very sturdy and the lid's locking pin is a nice added touch to keep the lid from popping open. Overall a nice replica can that is unique and well made."

"I ordered 2 of the NATO fuel cans and a NATO fuel nozzle on a Friday and was shocked when they were delivered the next morning using the standard delivery. I live on the Gulf Coast and need to carry fuel safely if I need to leave quickly due to a storm. May purchase a few more!!!"

"I ordered two fuel cans and one nozzle. These fuel cans are top of the line products. They are very sturdy and airtight. When I opened them here in Colorado, there was a loud \"whoosh\" as the air pressure equalized. These cans will come in handy as a backup fuel supply for everyday use or extended range on long trips in my F-150."

"I also ordered two NATO fuel cans and the NATO spout on a Thursday morning and received them Friday morning (from Texas to NE Okla.) in 24 hrs.!! Brand new, stout, heavy duty cans that cannot be found at this price (even if you can find any of these cans). Just ordered more of the same this evening for fear that the next time I come to CTD, these two items will be history. My intent is portable fuel storage with a stabilizer for when the SHTF. Thanks, CTD, for this incredible offering to us \"little people\"!!!"

"Solid can. Good, durable looking paint job. I did have a problem with one of the four I bought. At first, the cap didn't seat right and would leak. With some bending of the hinge, I was able to get it to seat right. I turned it on its edge and had no leaking. That could have been one out of thousands for all know. I would say it is worth buying."

"Great, fantastic fuel can. Color of the fuel can received is olive green. It could have stepped right off the stage of M*A*S*H. It appears much darker than pictured. In my opinion, the color I received is better, so go figure."

"Great cans! I purchased 2 of them around 8 months ago and they work great and don't leak one bit. Great if you have a car, van, or suv."

"These are the best metal gas cans I have ever seen. I have traveled with several of these cans fully loaded with gasoline in the trunk of my compact car. I never once detected the odor of gasoline. I drive with the windows up and the air conditioning on. The sealing lid on these cans is incredibly effective and I easily learned how to open and close the lid with one hand, while pumping gas with the other. Because these are 20 liter cans, you are easily able to put five full gallons of gasoline into the can without having to fight with the EPA nozzles and adapters on the gas pumps. I have a number of these cans and I will be getting more of them soon."

"Great cans! The caps lock tight and work perfect! One reviewer stated that his wife couldn't close it. It is designed to stay open! When you want to close it lift it straight up, then close and lock!!! These seem to be very durable and well built! Will buy more!!!"

"Right now I own six cans. I keep buying them. The stations over in Ohio keep getting into a gas war. So when it goes low I take them over and fill them up. I have 30 gallons on hand at all times. In the event Obama is stupid again and causes a shortage I want to have fuel on hand to make a few more trips than the unprepared folks."

"Great cans, very well made and look like they'll last a long time. Fast shipping at a great price from CTD as usual."

"Best gas cans you can buy for the money. They don't leak, nozzles are outstanding. Pricey when in combination the nozzle, but worth every penny. The new child proof EDP junk you get at the big box stores are useless compared to these."

"This 70+ year-old design is still the fuel can to which all others have to be compared. Now politically-incorrect (not CARB-compliant), these are getting harder and harder to find. The current offering from CTD is a genuine NATO-spec can, and very reasonable priced. Beware of so-called \"NATO-style\" cans. They are cheap knock-offs which will not last like real NATO cans."

"Definitely unused \"Brand New Unissued.\" My 2 units arrived in separate boxes in excellent condition. No directions on how to operate the lids but it was easy enough to figure out. Twist the stainless lock bar until its flattened tip could be pulled way past the oval cut-out and the locking tab (lock bar doesn't pull all the way off), then lift the latch. Both units went \"pffftt\" with escaping air when first opened, a good sign that the cans were airtight. Insides are sealed with red coating.I filled each with 5 gallons of gas (20 liters is actually about 5.3 gallons) then loaded them into the back of my SUV. In the past, when using the common plastic gas containers, I'd have all windows open and still get headaches from the fumes. With these NATO cans, I couldn't smell any fumes even with all the windows sealed and airconditioner on recirculating mode.I considered buying a spout but instead went with a siphon hose that could be mechanically primed, from another vendor. The only negative I could think of is the color. Someone told me that gasoline containers are supposed to be red. I may spray paint the caps with red paint."

"High quality fuel can. This is NOT the cheap Chinese junk. This is the real deal with solid welds, quality coating, and a positive seal. If you purchase one of these I recommend also getting the fuel spout that is made for this can. I got one for each fuel can I purchased and they are just as high quality as the cans."
5.0 5
"I ordered 6 of these and was happy with what I received. These appear to be built to the original German/British/NATO spec, the Chinese knockoffs are visually distinguishable. Cans are lined with the red-orange lining that is safe for gasoline and have the proper black rubber seals."
