Federal XM193 5.56mm NATO ammunition is loaded to Military specification at the Lake City facility. This particular load uses the XM193 bullet which is a 55 grain Boat Tail FMJ. The finished rounds consist of sealed primers which is ideal for long term storage and moisture protection. The ammo comes 10 rounds to a stripper clip, with 3 stripper clips to a cardboard sleeve, for a total of 420 rounds in the ammo can.

Bullet: XM193 55 Grain FMJ Boat Tail
Muzzle velocity: 3240 fps
Muzzle energy: 1282 ft/lbs
Uses: Target, Range, and Plinking

Note: This item is manufactured in the Lake City Plant currently run by Federal ATK. The ammo is brand new, brass cased, boxer primed, non-corrosive and re-loadable. It is made to military specifications which require the cases to be annealed. Unlike civilian production ammo, the military requires to see evidence of annealing on the round itself. This is why the cases will appear to be discolored. This is done on purpose in order to meet the military requirement for overall strength and durability of the finished round.

420 Rounds per ammo can.

"Fast shipping, well packaged, great quality product! Stripper clip loading was difficult, bullets didn't want to slide, but determination prevailed. Def. recommend"

"Used 100 of these rounds the other day and and they performed well. One failed to fire with a perfect primer strike."

"Federal XM193 is my go to cartridge for just about anything that involves the use of my AR-15 with the exception of personal defense. There are several reasons this ammo is superior to the other brands on the market today. For starters the handy metal ammo can, the ammo is preloaded on stripper clips, and of course the little spoon. Secondly the ammo is made to the US military specification. It is annealed for superior case strength and the primers are crimped so they don't pop out during high rates of fire, and the primers are sealed to prevent moisture which is perfect for long term storage. If this ammo doesn't run in your gun, your gun is broken! "
