"Runs good in my Armalite. 1.5 MOA, no funny things with feeding, ejection or case condition. Real handy having them already on the stippers."

"These rounds are great for an M-16/AR-15 style rifle if it has the correct rifle twist. The military abandoned these 55 grain bullets for the heavier 62 grain NATO ball (M855). These 55 grain bullets will not be accurate at 300+ yards, and yes you can use an M-16 to nit targets to 1,000 yards. It just takes knowledge of the ammo, rifle and marksmanship. If you are shooting at small game this round will work just fine. I prefer 62 grain or heavier. not bad for plinking though."

"Fastest delivery I have ever had for anything. Ammo was clean well packed and exactly like the description."

"Shipment arrived pretty quick, product arrived in good condition. Brass is a bit dirty, either from long-term storage under wrong conditions, or from dirty production line. Don't get me wrong, it cycles thru the rifle fine, just doesn't 'look' new. Have yet to compare accuracy with other cartridge manufacturers, but I will post another review then. Until then, four bullets is my rating."

"Looks like decent ammo. But this ammo is repackaged with plastic bags over opened boxes. The brass looks rough and has dings. Probably 2nd quality ammo being marketed as first quality. The cheaper lake city, or american eagle xm 193 is probably a better buy for the same quality."

"The description states that it is current and original. I can believe it is orginal but current it's not. Looks as if it has been stored somewhere for years. Has signs of discoloration and minor rust. I have some 308 made in the 70's and it (308) doesn't look as badly as this 5.56. Haven't shot it yet, afraid to waste it. With what's running the country, may need it for real later on."

"Great ammo for the money, shoots clean, no jams, and didnt look as bad as some have said."

"This is good ammo. I had my bushy out to the range for comparison between this ammo and the PMC, Federal (bulk), and Remington UMC (all of them 55gr FMJ). It goes bang every time and hits what I aim at. Then again, they all did, even on the other end of the range (330 yds).At this price, it ain't exactly plinking ammo, but the way prices are going, it doesn't hurt too bad to plink with it, either. The stripper clips make reloading at the range a whole lot quicker, and you can save them and re-use them. The stripper clips I've purchased elsewhere tend to be problematic, but the ones this ammo is loaded on all worked fine."
4.0 5
"The brass is fine. The discoloration comes from the annealing process that hardens the brass after it's been worked. Commercial ammo gets cleaned and polished before loading. Military ammo does not need this extra step. This ammo works fine, it has not been stored incorrectly, nor is it seconds. This is bulk ammo that has been repackaged, and it may get some very small dings from the other cases."

"Best plinking ammo around works great in my STAG. Great price these days for 5.56 ammo."

"I just orderd 100 more rounds I like the clips allso"
5.0 5
"Great stuff for my .223 Saiga rifle. MUCH nicer BANG than the Rem rounds. I'm ordering more today."
5.0 5
"This ammo is the best I have shot out of my Stag. no problems, no jams, no excessive fouling, a blast to shoot."
5.0 5
"Great Ammo! Great Price! And on stripper clips already. Buy it while you can. And remember AR's are wet guns. Keep them cleaned and lubed guys, buy this stuff and go have some fun."
4.0 5
"This ammo is fantastic. Went to the range over memorial day weekend and this ammo through my RockRiver AR-15 was fantastic. The quality of the ammo is excellent and already loaded on stripper clips make reloading a piece of cake. They are also re-usable and in mint condition."
5.0 5
"Great price, good plinking ammo pretty clean and you get the stripper clips and boxes.Reliable and cheap"
5.0 5
"GREAT AMMO and FAST DELIVERY! The stripper clips made loading the 30-round AR mags a breeze with the Lulu loader. And the clips are in great shape. You can reuse them for fast loading of .223 ammo. Went to the range with my S&W M&P15 (1:9 twist) and these rounds performed fantastically. I may buy more before they're gone."

"Lake Cities made this stuff, but it's reliable. Equal to the old GI M193 ball. Brass looked like well cleaned (shiny), once fired, and headstamps were LC 07. If you need 55gr. ball ammo on strippers, at a fair price, can't go wrong with this stuff."
5.0 5
"This is really good stuff and you can tell it is good ammo when it fires and burns really clean and fires very well and chambers very well...For the price you can either target pratice with it or have it on hand for the zombie attack!!!"
5.0 5
"As a former Marine this is as good as it gets. These rounds punch holes through car doors, and other targets much better than any civilian (non premium) ammo I've ever shot. Just like the ball ammo used in the military. Great round at a great price, especially considering current ammo prices."
5.0 5
"I got this ammo confused with a different one. These rounds have a lighter slug than the standard military ball round. These round do, however, out shoot most rounds out there. Good accuracy and they burn very clean. For the money, they are tough to beat."
5.0 5
"This is just about the only ammo that will cycle in my S&W AR."
5.0 5
"Great ammo. Accurate, clean, and unbeatable price. What more needs to be said?"
4.0 5
"Deployed 5 rounds of this through my Mini-14 Ranch at an old propane take at my, \"range\" in the National Forest. The holes left looked like they had been made with a drill press. Much better penetration than lead core. On the other hand I'm not sure that there are any under-penetration problems with this caliber. If your targets are behind steel for some reason, this might make a good choice. And yes, you can definitely shoot 5.56 through a Mini-14. If you're concerned, read your manual."

"Clean, reliable, wonderful ammunition!"

"This ammo works great! No FTF or jamming in my S&W MP-15. I have shot 420 rounds of this ammo without any cleaning and I am loving it. The stripper clips make loading mags fast, but you need to finesse them a bit sometimes, or the rounds do get out of line and will pop out of the stripper clip. Seems pretty accurate too. When I zeroed in at 100 yards, I was hitting groups of five shots within 1 1/4\" (mostly less.) And that was with a front bipod and no rear support, other than my arms folded. Also, I am using the new Nikon M-223 3-12SF scope with the Nikoplex reticle and rapid action turret. Can't say enough how much I am liking that scope. I have some more of this ammo left and I will be buying more soon. Gotta' give props to Cheaper for the great customer service and fast order processing and delivery. Top notch!"

"I ordered a box of this ammo yesterday and received it the next day. Cheaper Than Dirt always has fast shipping. The ammo wasn't bad. It is clean, current production, a new box and on stripper clips. The reason I gave it 4 bullets was the ammo itself. Like I said, it was current production, but the head stamp didn't have a NATO cross it was marked in big letters and numbers LC10. I'm guessing this ammo isn't issued M193, it's civilian M193. But it's good for the range, and for the price its nice ammo. Will buy again!"
5.0 5
"I didn't have one misfire out of 60 rounds down range. Clean shooting and loads of fun. I would buy again without a doubt. Good cheap ammo for plinking without thinking about the cost. Fast shipping as promised. Buy it while they got it."
4.0 5
"I bought 150 rounds of this stripper clip ammo. Fires nice and loads easily, but only if you use and buy the stripper clip guide. For my part, I would rather use my Lupa loader which is really sweet!"
2.0 5
"Bought 150 rounds of this. Inspected each round very closely. Fount about 8 rounds with bubbled or split tips. Ammo is very dirty when handling. Have not fired yet so cannot verify accuracy. But from first impression, I would expect better quality control if I\uFFFDm sending this type of round out my door. Poor workmanship on several rounds. Won\uFFFDt be buying again."
2.0 5
"About the best you can say is that this ammo feeds and goes bang! At 35 yards it may shoot an 8\" group; or a 3\" group with a flyer or two. Don't ever try to zero a scope with this in your gun! It wanders all over the place. The most inconsistent ammo I have shot."
5.0 5
"I recently used this ammo to sight in a new scope on my DPMS AR15, it shot tight group, repeatedly, allowing me to dial my scope in using only 18 rounds. When I was done you could cover all three zero rounds with a dime."
5.0 5
"Went to the range for my birthday last weekend and put 450 rounds of this ammo down range with absolutely no issues. My rifle is a preban Colt AR15A2 1:7 twist 20\" barrel. At 100 yards even with iron sights I was able to shoot groups that were within 2\". The range I go to doesn't allow dual metal rounds so I was stuck shooting 55gr. rounds, shot them out to 200 meters with very good results. Yes it isn't shiny and a few of them had some dents on the casings, but I didn't have any FTFs even a double feed from my mags."
5.0 5
"Great ammo, beats the Russian stuff hands down. I was shooting it through a 16\" LMT upper, not one FTF, hang fire, miss fire, or dud. I should have been shooting 62 grn for that length upper, but you just can't beat the price for quality ammo. I'll shoot 55 grn all day for that price. I will be purchaseing more in the near future."
5.0 5
"There was no dings in the ammo it all looked good. It was easy to load thnx to the stripper clips, and it shot flawlessy through my stag 3L. thought I would get a few bad ones because it was cheap, but to my surprise, not a single jam or dud with it. I'd recommend this ammo if your looking for ammo to blow at the range. Oh, and the stripper clips are nice, too, if you have a bunch of loose ammo around."
4.0 5
"I ordered 150 rounds. I shot every round at the range and did not have any malfunctions no fte no ftf. For the money this is decent ammo. I have about 1,000 rounds of this now. It also burns pretty clean."
5.0 5
"This is excellent, Mil-Spec, clean ammo. Ran through 120 rounds on my first purchase with no issues at all. I will order more of this."
5.0 5
"This ammo speaks for itself. I wasn't able to notice any difference between this and the Federal XM193 ball ammo. Still great stuff."
5.0 5
"Brand new clean factory ammo, fires flawlessly. I am going back for more."
5.0 5
"Opinion: this is as good as any 55 grain FMJ round out there. Fact: Federal runs the Lake City ammunition production and it also owns the American Eagle brand. They are ALL federal cartridges. Also, Gungearman. Annealing is a heat treating process that SOFTENS brass, and in a cartridge loading (or reloading) application helps to prevent split necks from various causes (crimping or resizing to name 2). In discharging it also allows the neck and shoulder to form to a rifle's chamber when firing, preventing combustion gasses from blowing back around the casing. In a semi or full auto this improves cycling and reduces fouling."
5.0 5
"I bought 30 rounds to test in my Rock River Operator 5.56 nato chambered rifle. It worked stupendously. The ammo was a little dirty, but fed and shot clean. I will be buying more for sure."
3.0 5
"This is my first purchase of these brand, and I had some issues with the rounds stovepiping. The brass appears dirty, however there were no hangfires. Every round once fed, fired and was fairly accurate."
5.0 5
"Great price for a butt-kicking round which stores nicely in 30-packs and I get to keep the stripper clips to organize bulk ammo....."
3.0 5
"Bought several of these to increase my supply of stripper clips, along with getting some more ammo. They shoot pretty good, although a little dirty. I do seem to have a problem with one or two rounds per clip not wanting to slide down the stripper clip when loading them into a magazine. Once the problem rounds are removed from the clip, the rest load just fine."
5.0 5
"I just shot my new stag AR15, this ammo is very good, less than 30 rounds to sight in with good grouping 75-100 yards on a coffee can lid. I finished the 200 rds no hangers. I will buy more the price cant be beat any where."
5.0 5
"I bought 90 rounds of this ammo. It fed great and I didn't have a single problem. My DPMS AR-15 ate it up, definitely a good buy!"
5.0 5
"Shot 60 rounds through my new Ruger SR556. I have to say this is a great ammo. Though my experience is limited, I found this easy to shoot and 90% hit the spinner target offhand at 60 yards. The other 10% was probably shooter error. Not a bad price for 30 rounds with a stripper clip. Though CTD did increase the price right after my first purchase, I have gotten more. Get it, you won't regret it."
5.0 5
"Ammo works great. Feeds great. No FTE/FTF. Accuracy was great as well. M4s eat it up!"
4.0 5
"This ammo cycles my piston and gas AR's (Stags and Bushies)without any feed/ejection issues at all. I have used more expensive ammo at the range.but now this will be my primary range load. Cost per round is still quite reasonable, plus extra stripper clips for bulk. Runs clean, cycles fine, they bring it to your door and its affordable-whats not to like."
4.0 5
"I used this ammo in my DPMS A4 carbine to sight in my A2 iron sights, my Aimpoint Comp ML2 w/ BUIS, and a tac scope (3-9x42). In all three configs, the ammo performed very well. Not a single FTE/FTF. With my primary setup (Aimpoint)dialed in at 50 yds, I shot off hand at targets from 50 yds out to 300 and am quite pleased with the results. For practice and plinking this ammo is hard to beat, and will certainly do in a pinch for SD. Good buy, considering ammo prices these days."
5.0 5
"There are a lot of pretty weak complaints on here like \"It sticks in my stripper clips\" and \"the shells look dirty.\" I've been shooting this ammo for almost 3 years now, and I've had about half a dozen failures, and that's out of thousands of rounds. If you don't know this by now, this ammo is made in a big factory in MO. Since Federal isn't allowed to sell \"surplus\" ammo to the public anymore, these are factory seconds. Well not all of them. When a tested round fails to meet the super strict military QC they trash the whole lot, leaving millions of extra rounds.. which they sell to us. Now American Eagle and Federal go through the extras, throw out the bent and dangerous ones, and usually place the better specimens in these little boxes of 20 or 30. The big 1000 round loose boxes aren't held to such a standard, and are quite a crap shoot... but you should inspect ALL of you ammo before hand anyway. So if you want something to practice, plink, mag dump with, I give this 5/5."
4.0 5
"I use this all the time. It's cheap, works well with my Stag upper and I have fired hundreds of rounds with it without a problem. Love the stripper clips, great for putting in a pocket when you are walking or hiking. Perfect for me, I live in CA so all I can load at a time is ten anyway... It sucks, the law not the ammo.."

"Shoots clean and accurate. For the price its a great deal!"

"Delivered to my door in less than 22 hours. Excellent quality. I love them, hogs fear them. Texas CTD rules!"
4.0 5
"Great ammo.Shoots good, high power and very accurate with a RRA15.I just wish I had bought more. The stripper clips are usless without the tool needed to load your mags,\"not included\", but AR mags are very easy to load, so no need for them.Great ammo for a great price."

"Bought 1000 rounds a couple months ago and shot 200 right away without a problem. I'm shooting these all through a Noveske upper with 300 rounds total. Today the story was a little different. About 75 rounds in I had malfunction. A primer had come out of the casing and jammed up the bolt. I pulled it apart and cleared the primer. 5 more rounds in and the same thing. Primer out of the shell and another jam. Now I get to repair some damage to my upper. Not happy with this ammo and would not buy again!!"
5.0 5
"This is great ammo I have shot over 2000 rounds through my RRA ar15 without any problems and it is very accurate. It comes on stripper clips and is very easy to load with a strip lula."
5.0 5
"Great ammo...my rifle chewed it up, not a bad round in the 500 I have fired."
4.0 5
"Good quality ammo...Delivery was fast and all ammo was correctly accounted for.If you want to be REALLY picky, four out of the five ammo boxes I received were crappy and somewhat torn. But, as long as the ammo is good, WHO CARES?!FOUR BULLETS!"
1.0 5
"I bought 1020 rounds. Within the first 50 I had 2 primers come out and jam in my bolt carrier. First one just stopped the next round from feeding. The second primer jammed up in my gas key and ruined it. My rifle is a Noveske and was spotless with only 50 rounds through it prior. I shot a couple hundred more through my rifle as well as my Dad's brand new S&W M&P. I had 1 more primer fall out but did not jam. The new M&P was not so lucky. The 3rd round of the brand new rifle also dropped out a primer and wedged in the bolt carrier. This one took and gunsmith to remove. I realize there are a lot of users of this ammo that have had good luck. Good for them. I just felt I need to relay what this ammo is doing. I have sent multiple emails to Federal with no response.550 rounds shot. 4+ primers coming out of the shell reeking havoc in 2 rifles. NOT GOOD. I will not shoot any more of this ammo."
5.0 5
"I had no problems with this ammunition. So far all the rounds I've put through the AR I built fed fine and fired without a hitch. As for being dirty.. every ammunition out there will make a gun dirty as long as you clean it within 2-24 hours like you're supposed to then you won't have to worry about how clean or dirty your ammo is."
5.0 5
"Great rounds and great service as always. Keep those shelves full CTD, because I'll need a refill soon. My rifle needs lots of fuel and it takes this."
5.0 5
"Great rounds especially for the price, never had a problem with them in any of my ar-15s."
5.0 5
"This ammo is priced cheap, but shoots like the $20 per 20 rounds boxes. This stuff is smooth and consistent. Have shot about 200 rounds through my custom AR-15 and had no jams, misfeeds, or any other mishap. After reviewing all other reviews, this stuff is great ammo for reused brass! I will never buy any other ammo for my AR-15!!"
5.0 5
"Got some more 5.56 in a Federal American box and smoked my targets on the range with these great rounds. Get your extra stripper clips by emptying these and get your next rounds in a big box if you prefer. These are Lake City and stamped. A lot of ranges don't let steel on the range. Keep your steel for that special purpose when it comes. Sharpen your skills with these clad ball rounds."

"I will only be shooting this ammo from now on! It has been shooting flawlessly in my full auto M4A3."
4.0 5
"Ordered on Wednesday, got it yesterday. Failed to extract. Only one, due to loose bullet. Had a double feed and had to strip my AR, but the rest shot flawlessly. The round that malfunctioned had a damaged casing. Hope there are no more in the rest of the five boxes I purchased."
5.0 5
"Great, cheap ammo. It went bang every time. I did have a few casings that had some gunk on them, but it came right off and still fired just fine. I will be stocking up on this ammo soon."
5.0 5
"This is the cheapest and best American plinking ammo I have found. And with it being on stripper clips, which is how I load all my mags anyway, I absolutely love this ammo. Dang, maybe I should say it sucks so y'all won't buy it all. lol. You won't be disappointed with it."
5.0 5
"I bought 30 boxes of this ammo to break in and zero my new \"M4gery\" AR-15 variant, and to have enough left over to start a stockpile. The ammo seemed a bit mixed between polished and \"dirty,\" and a few had small dents in them, but minor at most. I've fired about 400 rounds, with absolutely no misfires or extraction problems, including an entire 30 rd magazine in auto (bump-fire). Accuracy is good. I'll be buying up some more from CTD if the price comes back down a bit!"
5.0 5
"I'm a fan of Federal ammo. Their NATO 556 is always great. I bought 2000 rounds and I'm shooting them up. I scored a great price too. All Federal 556 NATO is identical, irrespective of the box or bulk package."
3.0 5
"These are very accurate. Seems to be one or two duds per box, but great range ammo for the price. Just wish they were more reliable."
3.0 5
"I was gonna say this is great ammo for the price, but it seems there was a slight price increase."
4.0 5
"Great GP ammo."

"Good ammo"

"Just got two boxes of this in the mail. The bullets are very dirty and the casing is two different colors, with a lot of dings and dents. Looks like it was left out in the rain and mud, but we'll see how it does at the range."
4.0 5
"Was concerned as each shell casing was two different colors, and some have dings, dents in them. Shot 100 rounds though my new Bushmaster Carbon 15 anyway. No FTF, FTE. Will be purchasing more. Best non bulk price I've found."
5.0 5
"As described, good quality, like the stripper clips"
4.0 5
"This ammo smells like a rotten catbox and will burn your eyes in an indoor range if you cycle through your rounds at a fast pace. It was nice and accurate and went bang. Had a great target practice with the stuff, but Does it smell bad! I thought something was wrong with my rifle at one point, but it was the ammo. Anyway, good stuff for the price. Try to shoot it outside."
4.0 5
"I fired 2 boxes of this stuff today... absolutely flawless.. Lake City knows what they're doing guys..."
