"I was really Disappointed in the quality of Product in these survival bottle kits. The 6 function compass is kind of a neat toy for a child in cub scouts but as far as actual use, I suppose the whistle could come in handy. All it's other features are kind of a joke. The sewing kit is a length of thread wrapped around a small piece of cardboard with a needle stuck in it. Not really a \"kit' in my opinion. The fire striker is just what you would expect. The Swiss army knife is still the cheaper quality that the old bottle kits had and will not hold up to any serious use. The snare wire is a length of wire from and old military trip wire spool, nothing really special...the box of wind and water proof matches was good, the wind proof matches are essentially tiny sparklers and will burn even when buried in sand, The wire saw was made in Taiwan and I tried it on a dry piece of firewood less than an inch thick. It got about halfway through and then snapped, very poor quality. I would not trust it to be there for you when you needed it. I didn't even bother to try any of the wet & expand towels. Not impressed at all with the product. But 2 stars for the saving grace of CTD customer service helping me return the item and giving me a refund very quickly. I will still be shopping at CTD for a long time. They just took a gamble with this kit and it didn't work out."

"The idea behind this product was a great one. Worth the money."

"I ordered 6 of these to give to boating friends. Upon opening the box, I immediately noticed all 6 bottles were ruined as the candle inside had melted and run throughout the contents of the bottle. Not sure if the candles melted in a warehouse prior to shipment, but from the looks of the insides of the bottles, the candles had melted quite some time ago (and not sitting on my front covered/shaded porch for half an hour.)I'd love to re-order, but I won't be doing so during the summer months."

"I was actually impressed with this product! Especially for the price. I assumed some of the items were going to be complete junk like the knife. Although it wasn't Victorinox quality it was way heartier than I thought. Some of the items like the saw wire and the fishing kit were not top shelf, but it was what I was looking for because I just didn't want to have to buy these items separately at a sporting goods store. I purchased this kit for my survival bag because I already have all of my major items, but I just needed the small $1 or $2 items to complete it. All in all not SUPERIOR quality, but for the money sufficient to keep you covered in a pinch."

"I got two of these eventually. One for myself and one for my wife to have in her car. It sat under her seat and after a couple days in the summer heat last year the wax in the candle inside melted and then later hardened making everything inside a complete mess. I've also seen complaints of people getting these with the wax already all over the place upon receiving the bottle from shipping. If it wasn't for that it would be decent self-contained survival bottle."
