"The DPMS Tac-20 is actually one of the few guns that is listed incorrectly on this site as well as the DPMSinc website. The issue is that it does not have the LIGHTWEIGHT 20\" barrel, but has the HEAVY 20\" barrel, which is not to be confused with DPMS's BULL barrels. What would be considered \"lightweight\" would ONLY be their 416 SS lite hunter .308 barrel which you CAN NOT order separate from the complete rifle. I called the DPMS techline to confirm all of this. That being said there is not much \"tactical\" about an 11 lbs rifle so if you are looking at this one you need to think \"bench gun\" instead of \"tactical\" There will be NO SHOOTING offhand with it for most of the average shooters. That being said, I wouldn't recommend sweep through a house with a .308 rifle either!OK, now to the rifle:Great fit and finish and WELL KNOWN DPMS accuracy. The rail is great and having a front sight post makes adding a rear backup cheap and easy. IT's an MOA or better gun, so be prepared to buy some real glass for it. ALSO be prepared to put a trigger in it because the factory one is horribly lawyer-proof. The \"classic\" stock is lightweight and simple, but having lightweight out back is not really all that necessary since this rifle is more of tank anyway. But...it's a shooter. A REAL shooter of a .308 rifle. IF you want a REPR, but don't have a $2.5k laying around, buy this TAC_20 ($1,100), a trigger ($135), a PRS stock ($250), whatever grip you like ($50-100), and call it a REPR to all your friends and spend the other $1k on bullets and/or a scope. Also if ordering from this website be prepared to wait 10 days or better. Read their shipping policies...they are pretty straight forward. Also if you want a lightweight, accurate .308 with dust cover and forward assist...look at the .308 LITE HUNTER DPMS. IT comes with a better trigger, arguably better barrel (3 lbs lighter off the FRONT END of the rifle!), and is only marginally more expensive. You can do whatever \"style mo"

"I'll get the cons out of the way first, there's only two so far. The first is that, like all DPMS firearms, the trigger is trash. The second is that the weight is misrepresented, and horribly so. This thing is about 11 lbs, not 8-9. Other than that, I love it. I got a DPMS two stage trigger, a hogue grip, a phase 5 bolt release, a few P-Mags, and a Millett scope. I left the rail and the stock alone, they function just fine. This thing is sub moa with wolf 150gr. I love it."
