"I have purchased a few different types of compact safes for the home, and this is the best of the bunch. My model is slightly different, with the key override visible between the bolt dial switch & the keypad, but otherwise the same. It is sturdy, easy to install, & easy to use. If I ever need another for the office, this will be the one. There is enough room for both a pistol and the wife's jewelry, and the electronic entry unit is reliable. It is an excellent value and I recommend it to anyone with a pistol and documents to safeguard."

"For the money paid on this safe you get more than expected. This is a great safe for the office or home and for its size, and has plenty of room both on top and bottom. I recommend this safe as a good buy for anyone. Its great looking, secure, and all around a excellent buy."

"Right out of the box, the door won't lock shut because the door is bowed. Not badly, mind you, but enough to keep the safe from closing. The bolts cannot engage as they're hitting the inner frame of the door instead of closing behind the frame. The steel is pretty thick, so I can't think that shipping trauma is to blame for the misshapen door. Enter the electronic code I created, and the green light goes on acknowledging the code's correctness, but then the bolts won't disengage! How can anyone open the door if the bolts won't disengage? A-HA! The keys! The door opens just fine using the keys provided. A safe won't shut and then won't open. Now THAT'S innovation! Other than the bent door not closing, the bolts not functioning properly in either direction, and the safe being utterly useless to me, it's a truly remarkable and innovative product. Enjoy lugging this hunk of chewed bubblegum back to FedEx!"

"Well, just call me stupid! After calling CTD about the problems with the first safe, I choose to straight DX the clunker from my first review for another safe of the same model. After returning the defective safe to CTD, a week later I get the replacement safe. Great service by CTD, as usual. The new safe has a straight door! And the bolts fall behind the door instead of hitting it! The electronic keypad seems to work well as I enter and verify a new combination. So far, so good, right? Wrong...The locking mechanism is \"loosey goosey\" and doesn't lock the safe! No clicking or locking noises. No resistance. Not even the keys will cause the door to lock. All the door does is open and close, without locking. After checking and rechecking the instructions the problem boils down to one thing...the door won't lock. It's broke. Once again - second time in less than a month - I am stuck with a 35 pound piece of chewed bubblegum. FedEx, here I come!I have no idea what the deal is with this safe, but I've received 2 clunkers in a row. I'll try something else now. The craftsmanship of this safe is is seriously flawed and CTD should consider pulling it."

"Well, here's the third and final installment of the saga of my safe. The second safe was as bad a the first for different reasons. When I called DACTEC about the second gumwad, they gave me no grief, only regrets that their products have been so problematic for me. To DACTEC's credit, they are sending me yet another safe at no cost to me. I don't even have to return the second bad safe. That saves me the subsequent trip to FedEx. Maybe I can plant flowers in the dead safe. Or use it for target practice. Anyhow, DACTEC has been very cool about the problems with my two safes. I figure they deserve a rating bump for customer service. Now if only this next safe will work..."

"I lied about the last chapter in this saga being the last chapter. Kill me. DACTEC sent the safe as promised, and in timely fashion, no charge to me. And this time, the damned safe actually works! No bent doors, no busted lock mechanisms. Punch in the new combination and it opens. Close the door, it locks. Perfectly! First time, each time!I'm only glad I wasn't buying prescription medication. I'd be dead by now. MADE IN CHINA!God Bless Justices SCALIA, THOMAS, ROBERTS & ALITO! They make us all proud to be Americans. Two stars for the willingness of DACTEC to own responsibility for the second crappy safe. Which, BTW, has flowers growing inside the vault. This safe makes a great planter, albeit an expensive one...One star extra for the Supreme Court, on this historic Day Of Days.Long Live The Second Amendment! GOD BLESS REAL AMERICANS!"
