"I did not expect a gun of that price to be of the top quality that it was . It is not only a great gun for the price, it is a great gun for any price. I took it out yesterday to sight it in and shot the Hornady lever evolution rounds. I shot two shot groups. After having it dead on at 25 yards , I shot at 100 yards and was about 1 inch low. I adjusted to about 1 inch high at 100 yards. My 2 shot groups ranged from 1.25 to 1.5 inches. I then went to 150 yards and shot 4 times. One of the shots dropped about 4.5 inches, but the other 3 had hardly dropped from where I was shooting at 100 yards. This is easily a 150 yard deer rifle. The trigger is one of the best I have ever shot. This is truly a testimony to the high quality of the CVA Hunter rifle and also to the high quality of the Hornady round. I am very pleased with this very accurate rifle."

"Very well made...accurate to 150yrds, likes the Hornady flex tip,an Winchester white box,jsp Hornady will do 3 shots touching at 75yrds,off a bench, white box almost as good.. Has better twist rate for heavy 44 loads, then handi-rifle..I will no longer hunt with slug gun in Ohio. Trigger is best, great for hunting deer in stand, stalking, most shots are under a 100yrds in the woods, lite weight, that packs a punch. If your in a state that allows a pistol cartridge for deer, give this a hard look,!"

"The accuracy and great trigger are the standout features on this gun. Yeah, the plastic is a little cheap looking and it's not polished like a mirror but it's a star where it counts. The trigger is the best factory production trigger I've ever used. No creep, breaks at 3 pounds consistently and has no overtravel. It's great. The gun has shot 7/8" groups at 50 yards, so the accuracy is there, too. Mine is paired with a 2.5x scope, which suits the shorter range 44 magnum round just fine."

"I bought this to go with my pistol for Shots over 50 yards. It's lightweight easy to carry has one of the best triggers when a factory rifle consistent 3 pound pull. It will shoot 5 shot groups at a hundred yards with all shots touching. I took a nice 9 point 170 pound buck with one shot at about 75 yards after he was hit he went maybe fifty yards before going down for the count. For the money the quality and accuracy and this rifle you can't go wrong if you're looking for a 44 mag rifle"
