My Tighe Combo Edge Assist Model 1091 Combo Edge Knife -
The Columbia River Knife & Tool My Tighe Tactical Knife features concave cut scales are craftily shaped to enhance grip, aggressive with contours in just the right places. The blade has asymmetrical spine facets, high hollow grind and deep belly with recurve. The blade steel is 1.4116 stainless and is coated with black non reflective titanium nitride for maximum corrosion resistance. The frame lock folder tactical knife also has an open build with heavy duty 420J2 stainless steel frames and a 6061 T6 aluminum back spacer. The injection molded black Zytel scales have a deep random dimpled texture. This tactical knife features the OutBurst assisted opening mechanism, which instantly springs the blade fully open after you have opened the blade approximately 30 degrees

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

Veff Serrations -
Many CRKT models feature exclusive patented serrations developed by Tom V eff for exceptionally fast, smooth cutting.

Bead Blast Finish -
can be defined as any non reflective finish applied to the metal surface by bead blasting or sand blasting the blade with any of a variety of media. The intent is to roughen the surface for anti glare. The trade off is it tends to be more susceptible to corrosion due to the increased surface area exposed. This finish is also commonly referred to as a "military finish".

420J2 -
420J2 is a low carbon stainless steel and also the lowest grade of cutlery class stainless steel that is available. It is quite tough and resistant to corrosion. It has low wear resistance and edge holding ability making it a poor choice for a blade steel.

Frame Lock -
Also known as the Integral Lock or Monolock. The Frame Lock is a locking mechanism invented by custom knife maker Chris Reeve for the Sebenzas an update to the liner lock. The Frame Lock works in a manner similar to the liner lock but uses a partial cutout of the actual knife handle, rather than a separate liner inside the handle to hold the blade in place.

OutBurst -
Assisted opening mechanism, which instantly springs the blade fully open after you have opened the blade approximately 30 degrees.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

Hollow Ground -
The ground surface of the blade is concave and used to create a fine cutting edge.
