Mini My Tighe, Partially Serrated -
The knife is the Mini My Tighe knife, designed by Canadian knife maker Brian Tighe. This Mini My Tighe Knife features a 3.0" partially serrated recurve blade made of 1.4116 stainless steel and is .12" thick with Rockwell hardness of 55-57. The blade of this knife has a high satin finish, a notched thumb rest, dual thumb studs, and OutBurst assist for ambidextrous one hand opening. The stainless steel handle, 3.73" closed, has a bead blast finish, black Zytel scales with deep random dimpled texture, a T6 aluminum back spacer and a frame lock. A removable black Teflon plated stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this knife. The Mini My Tighe Knife has an overall length of 6.5" and weighs 3.8 ounces.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point o f contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

Bead Blast Finish -
can be defined as any non reflective finish applied to the metal surface by bead blasting or sand blasting the blade with any of a variety of media. The intent is to roughen the surface for anti glare. The trade off is it tends to be more susceptible to corrosion due to the increased surface area exposed. This finish is also commonly referred to as a "military finish".

420J2 -
420J2 is a low carbon stainless steel and also the lowest grade of cutlery class stainless steel that is available. It is quite tough and resistant to corrosion. It has low wear resistance and edge holding ability making it a poor choice for a blade steel.

OutBurst -
Assisted opening mechanism, which instantly springs the blade fully open after you have opened the blade approximately 30 degrees.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

Ambidextrous - Using both hands with equal ease. Pertaining to knives, it is a knife that is not solely designed for a left or right handed person but can be used with equal ease by both hands.

Hollow Ground -
The ground surface of the blade is concave and used to create a fine cutting edge.
