The Gatling gun, invented by Richard Gatling in 1861, is one of the best known early rapid-fire weapons and a forerunner of the modern machine gun. It saw use by the Union forces during the Civil War and was later used as recently as the assault on San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War.
This fully operational, museum quality reproduction from Colt is built to original size and chambered for .45-70 Government. It has five fully brass encased direct drive barrels, and is capable of firing up to 800 rounds per minute. The V-notch rear sight is graduated to 1000 yards. The gun is mounted on a beautiful brass and iron tripod with walnut stained hardwood legs. It comes complete with deluxe wooden transit chests, tools and accessories.
This is not classified by the ATF as an automatic weapon, and is fully legal to own.
