"These are made of steel and are nice sized to heat up smaller pans of water, soup, food, etc. By smaller I mean maybe up to a 2 quart pan, but I wouldn't use it for a skillet holder as most skillets are too large in diameter and may be unstable on this size stove. The individual pieces are simply bent around pins to keep them together and if you are rough with it, it may come apart when you don't want it to. So treat it normal and you shouldn't have a problem with it.After folding into position the last piece to fold is also used as a door/ air control so once you get your fire started, if you aren't using a canned fuel, you can open or shut the door to help regulate the fire. The ONLY problem I could see with this item is that if it doesn't sit on pretty much level ground it could possibly unfold with the weight of the pan you're using and could contaminate your food if it spills out of the pan. A rocky area wouldn't be a good area to use this, but if you are using it on dirt or clay type ground and it us uneven, simply use your entrenching tool to make a level spot and you should be good to go.It also folds to about an inch thick so it is easy to slide into or between other items in your pack or bag.The only other thing this could have would be a make shift way to \"hook\" the sides together so it won't unfold unintentionally but this could be accomplished by using small pieces of wire threaded through the sides and just twisted a couple of times so the wire can be used over and over. Just a thought ;-)Only received 4 bullets due to the fact that the sides don't have a positive lock to keep them together."
