The CMMG Drop In .22 LR AR15 Conversion Kit is what you need to turn your AR-15 rifle into a plinking machine. This conversion kit converts a standard .223 Remington or 5.56 NATO chambered AR-15 into .22 Long Rifle, allowing you to practice without spending a fortune at the range. The magazine holds 25 rounds of ammunition. For best performance use a round style hammer as notched hammers can cause function issues and 36 grain plated nose bullets have proven to be the best choice for function.

"I bought this so I could shoot more from my ARs without breaking the bank. Unlike the non-stainless models, this one may be a tight fit on brands like Olympic Arms. I have to tap it in a bit and it gouges the brass lug fitting some. No harm to lugs, as they are steel. It fits fine in my wife's M&P15, my Spike's Tactical, my Colt, and my Bushmaster. Some accuracy may be lost, but not every shot. .22s from a regular AR barrel with a 1:7 to 1:9 twist rate spin too fast for perfect accuracy. That's why .22 dedicated barrels are usually 1:16 twist. Most of us know this, some don't, so be patient. I am able to shoot three shot groups for sight and scope adjustments. It's good for what it does without using a dedicated upper. I use it for different sight and scope combos, and trying various techniques. When I'm happy with the adjustments I've made, I switch to 5.56 for a final check and sometimes adjustment. It will fail to eject brass sometimes, or have a non-fire, but at 4 cents a shot, does it really matter? Easy to install - remove regular bolt and put this one in, load mag with .22 shells, and you're shooting. I bought the cheaper one, also. It fits the Olympic Arms with no effort. Haven't fired it yet, though. Nothing gets 5 bullets unless it's perfect and whispers in my ear. Overall, good product and easy to use and clean."

"This product works as advertised. CheaperThanDirt! shipped promptly. Using this in my Bushmaster and I have fired hundreds rounds thru it without a single FTF or FTE using a variety of different ammunition \uFFFD CCI Standard, CCI Mini-Mag, Remington Golden Bullet & Cyclone, Blazer, Aguila Super Extra, Federal Auto Match and Norma Tac22. You will lose a little accuracy shooting .22 thru a .223 1:9 twist chrome barrel, but not a problem unless your match shooting. I\uFFFDve got Parkinson\uFFFDs but I get 1\uFFFD groups at 25 yards and 1.25\uFFFD \uFFFD 1.5\uFFFD groups at 50 yards.I would purchase again without hesitation."

"Just got this conversion and installed it my DPMS Sportical. This thing works flawlessly! I used Winchester bulk ammo and I could spit them out as fast as I could pull the trigger. I was concerned about accuracy but after shooting the conversion, those fears went away. I have my reflex sighted in dead on at 250 meters with .223/5.56 and switching to .22lr, i never touched the sight and was able to hit clay pigeons dead on at 50 yards! I highly recommend this unit. I've heard bad stories about the first model which is parkerized steel, but this one is stainless steel and works great. the manufacturer recommends a 100 round break in period but mine functioned flawlessly up to and way past that!"
