"ITS SO COOL if someone reads this im not kiding its so good"

"I purchased this knife for my brother who has never been hunting in his life. I plan to take him up this year for his first buck. The knife is a well built knife. The thick steel give it a nice weight and a good look. For the price and quality it cant get any better than it is. I recommend this product for gifts or for that first knife for your kid."

"I bought this knife expecting it to be a semi cheap knife.Boy was I surprised of the quality and balance of this knife Cheaper Than Dirt is CRAZYfor selling a high quality knife like this for such a low price my brother in law served in the Corp and showed me his USMC standard issue knive I luaghed at him becuase my 12 dollar knife was a better buy.But seriously BUY THIS KNIFE!"

"A fair price on this Chinese rough-use bowie knife. It looks basic and utilitarian - it'll never win a beauty contest, and I doubt anyone would feel particularly guilty about tossing this into a toolbox or leaving it at a hunting cabin or hanging in a tool shed next to hammers and crowbars. And I suppose that's the point of a rough-use knife: it's there to take the beatings you'd never want to inflict on a nicer knife. It doesn't seem especially sharp, but it'll probably cut meat if necessary. It does seem heavy and solid enough to pass for a small machete in a pinch, and it'll probably chop through small branches, and with a hammer it might also split firewood in an emergency."

"I purchased this knife for two reasons: 1) The price, and 2) the favorable reviews. I figured that even if it wasn't a decent knife, I could leave it in a drawer or something. With this having been my first order from CheaperThanDirt, I figured I would of been out $10 if it was junk. When my order arrived (I ordered another knife also), the moment I hefted this bowie, I knew that all of the positive reviews I read hadn't done this knife justice. This is indeed a great knife. I was able to put a decent edge on this knife with little problem (something I know how to do). Good steel, great feeling in the hand, and good edge. I was going hunting a couple weeks after I got my order, so I threw this treasure in my daypack and away I went! I figured if I needed an outdoor knife/machete/whatever...this one was the job finisher. Buy this knife. You won't be disapointed."

"This knife is very good I have already drooped it from my second story window by mistake twice and it was fine this knife rocks."

"Man, when i bought this knife, i sure wasn't expecting this. It's huge, first of all, very sturdy, great tool and weapon. I have several \"rough use\" knives, but this is by far the best one, and it's also the cheapest by about 15 bucks. I would definitely reccomend this blade to anybody. probably gonna buy the Bolo version as well, with the beef on this knife, would make a decent small machete. Thanks CTD."

"You simply WILL NOT find a better utility knife for under twelve bucks. I torture tested this knife within the first hour after it arrived. A small tree had blow down in my yard the previous day, so I took this knife outside and hacked through a 7\" thick hardwood log in less than five minutes of enthusiastic chopping. The full-tang construction handled the hard use, and the shock-absorbing hard rubber handle protected my hand from the force of repeated heavy blows. I came inside and rinsed off the blade to reveal that the black oxide finish was in good shape, and then I sliced cleanly through several sheets of newsprint without ripping to find that the blade's edge had retained its considerable sharpness. Get (at least) one!"

"I've been experimenting with different \"rough use\" knives for some time and this one comes comes close to perfect. In my opinion, A good bashing blade should be large, CHEAP, have some edge, and be easy to maintain. Yep...this pretty much does it. I expect any of the offered shapes will do nicely if you want a truly disposable but still useable blade. The crinkle finish is a bit odd but might fend off rust for a while. the finish hasn't come off in the 3 months or so I've been using it to chop weeds and sticks. I prefer a hard sheath to the soft, plastic lined one it comes with but I haven't trashed it so far despite inserting the knife in it backwards more than a few times due to my lefthandedness. Do yourself a favor and toss the included rough stone in your junk drawer and buy a real set of sharpening stones. This knife won't replace my dad's original kabar fighter or be of any use making a deer into meat but it's a very useable bush blade if you want something shorter than a machete that still has some weight to it for cutting through those impossible sections."

"This knife is a very good knife for the price , thick blade decent grip the factory edge had some dings actually but minor, once i dull it up a bit we will see how well it holds an edge definate must have handy knife for the garage, truck or camping trips at the price you wont mind accidentally losing it or using it for whatever abusive task you run into, things i would never pull out my navy seal knife for if you like an extra pop in the knife for chopping and slashing the \"Rough Use Knife 13.5\" BOLO looks good"

"It will do, for such a low price. I expected it to be thicker than 3/16\", especially at towards the blade point, which is 1/16\". If I use it for a throwing knife, or use it to pry something, I have no doubt that it will snap anywhere from the very point to about 1 inch back.Kudos on the price, but try to find us some thicker knives with similar excellent prices. Something 4/16\" to 5/16\" thickenss throughout the length of the blade."

"Feels great in your hand, need to put a edge on it,for the price you can't go wrong, will be great for camping and backpacking.Strippping branches off of trees for camp fires.great tool.Buy two at that price."

"I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE KNIVE AS A BEATER, AND BOY WAS I BLOWN AWAY. SURE THE BLACK FINISH LOOKS LIKE TRUCK BED LINER. BUT THIS THING IS SOLID AND I FEEL NO GUILT ABUSING OR USING IN HORRIBLE WEATHER. FOR THE PRICE OF 2 GALLONS OF GAS, YOU CAN HAVE A KNIFE THAT WILL LAST YEARS, YOU CAN'T PASS THIS DEAL!! IM ACTUALLY ORDERING THE BOLO VERSION, BUY TWO AND TORTURE THE LIFE OUT OF THEM!!!! ENJOY!!!"

"Excellent knife for the price. Less then $10 for a very decent knife. I bought this knife for everyday use and am really happy with it."

"This knife is great. I bought it because KnifeTest.com rated the knife extremely well an it was really inexpensive. I actually bought 2 of them because of the price. I don't have to worry about ruining this knife, leaving it in the camp fire or losing it... even though it would be nearly impossible to lose this knife since it stretches past 13 inches long."

"I too was a bit skeptical about a knife that is 3/16\" thick...until I saw what those guys at www.KnifeTests.com put the blade through (The videos are available for everyone to see!!) One guy, weighing in at 225 lbs even stood on the knife (which was clamped off), started bouncing up and down, and the knife wasn't even bent when he got off. He also did his best at breaking off the tip by stabbing a heavy-guage piece of sheet metal (twisting it around and all)--and the tip was just fine.Well, that made me a believer!!! So I bought this one and the CLIP POINT rough use knife. As others have noted, put an edge on it as it comes pretty dull. Just a great investment! Wow."

"i love this knife but one with the bolo blade as well, all i can say is look no further buy one if want quality at a low price, thanks CTD"

"Bought two of these after seeing them on Knifetests.com. I figured at 10 bucks I could get two without actually having tested one myself. I got the bolo and this one. Both are very nice knives and very solid and have a good hefty weight to them. Steel is pretty soft but keeps an edge. I am impressed with the knives, not with the sheaths, however. They are crap. Didn't buy them for the Sheaths though so I give it 5 stars."
5.0 5
"I bought this knife based the comments of other customers and after watching the review of this knife on knifetests.com. Although this knife is made in China, it's simply incredible. It is indeed very rugged and very well made. The retention strap on the sheath is not very sturdy, so I modified it with a small section of nylon webbing and plastic buckle. If I was told that I would be stuck in the woods for three months, I hope that I would have this knife with me. It's a shame that $200.00 knives of similar design are not at good as this. VERY STURDY!"

"I saw the price, other reviews, and the videos on knifetests.com. I thought the knife would hold up really good, but I had to chop down some small trees behind my house (guessing like 5-6 inches thick) and the knife hacked through it fine, but after the hacking I saw the rubber(or what ever it is) handle had two cracks on each side, after the inspection I when on chopping and later felt the handle loosen up quite alot. The knife came out of the box sharp, and I guess for $10 you'll have to expect it not to last long. The blade is pretty soft to, while chopping, I hit some stones and it bent of the metal, but it didn't chip it.I'm starting to wonder if this was a better buy then if I went and bought a Ka-Bar heavy bowie for four times the price."

"After seeing the previous messages about knifetest.com I went there myself. I also watched some of his vids on other knives I own. I was extremely impressed with how well this knife did. To be honest I think that putting a knife through that kind of test would be for a worst case scenario. I do not think normal use would be as devastating. I shows how trustworthy and reliable this knife is, especially compared to those other knives. I own a Ka-Bar and to see that it didn't last half as long as this knife did says something. I suggest anyone interested in this knife to see the vids and compare. Durable, dependable, and definitely well worth the price!"

"It's a good, strong knife but when I pulled it out of the box it was bigger than I expected. Also the handel is a little lose from the blade so be careful"
5.0 5
"Really a good knife for the price. Ordered two and one came with a rattling handle, so I sent it back and got a replacement. Good grip, thick blade and came fairly sharp. Knifetests gave this a higher rating than the Ka-Bar, which I own just as a nostalgia piece, since I have family in Olean, NY where Ka-Bar was made. This replaces my hollow-handle survival knife, as that blade came loose after some use camping. Very happy with the purchase, don't expect Benchmade quality, but it's a good 'rough use' knife you can use in the woods."
5.0 5
"Ordered two, both sheaths have a small pouch with sharpening stone included. It's heavy, seems durable through my testing phase and came out of the box decently sharp. Will be buying a few more for presents."
1.0 5
"I bought this knife based on the positive reviews here, and when I got it, I was impressed. However, the first time I used it to do a little hacking through wood, the handle shattered. I thought, 'no big deal, I can just cord wrap it.' except that it is not a full tang for some stupid reason. Plus, the edge got nicked up pretty bad just hacking at some light pine. This thing looks the part, and if all you want is a knife for show, then go for it. However, if you intend on actually using this as a 'rough use' knife, forget it, it WILL break the first time."
2.0 5
"i bought this knife a while back and it hardly lasted at all. the knife/ handle transition is weak, the material the handle is made of sucks, and the blade can hardly hold an edge. within two days of owning this knife and putting it through mild work the blade was practically destroyed. as someone who has been collecting and testing knives for almost 21 years, get a cold steel knife instead."
2.0 5
"I was cautiously optomistic about this knife. I had seen some reviews regarding its durability, and thought I'd give it a try. Upon receiving the knife, I realized the truth in the old saying \"You get what you pay for\". The sheath is what you would expect from a $10 knife. The securing strap is a small piece of cheap velcro that will have to be replaced to be reliable. The included sharpening stone should be thrown away and the pocket utilized for a firesteel or something that is useful. The grip was loose, and the guard was rattling on the handle. There was a constant concern that the handle would separate from the knife. In my opinion, the edge, (out of the box) was adequate at best.It was useful for removing small twigs from trees for tinder, and cutting twine to be used to support a small shelter. The weight of the knife proved advantageous when clearing vegetation on the trail. Overall, I guess it would be alright for a backyard camping experience, however, in my opinion, I would not feel comfortable recommending this knife as a primary survival tool. For the price,... you get what you pay for."
4.0 5
"Well, what more can be said? It's a very nice knife for the price. Nice finish, solid as a rock. Doesn't hold an fine edge for long, but it's a breeze to sharpen. I took it camping and used it to slice hotdog buns, so you can put a good edge on it. Sheath isn't too bad either, seems kinda flimsy but has plenty of snaps and loops on it. It's no Kabar, but you'll still be proud of it."
1.0 5
"I have to agree with \"Horace\" because same thing happened to me shattered the handle not doing hard work just some cutting on a camping trip. Thought I could do the same thing just re-wrap the handle myself but nope couldn't. It's not one solid piece from blade into handle. Splits about half way down not even a chance to try to make a new handle out of whats left, way too short"
4.0 5
"First impressions, large, fairly heavy, solid knife. I have seen the deconstruction videos on this knife and after handling it, I have no doubts. This is a hunk of iron. The sheath leaves a bit to be desired, but this is something that is going to take a beating. Edge needed a bit of touch up out of the box but not bad."
4.0 5
"i bought this toad sticker a few months ago. there is a little space between the guard and the blade, but certainly functional. ok for a cheap knife. problem was, the box was mis-marked, so i received the wrong blade style. by the time i was done sending it back, and generally messing with it, my $10 knife cost me $25."
4.0 5
"alright, the sheath is pretty useless, but u aren't buyin a sheath-- u are buyin a cheap rough use knife. I beat the tar outta mine regularly--chopping, prying, digging. I saw a couple reviews talking about the handle breaking- i use the butt of mine as a hammer & i have no issues with the handle. If they wanted 50$ for this knife it would not be a good deal, but for the price u really cant go wrong. Test it out when u get it--CTD will take care of u if somethin is not up 2 standard. If mine ever does break, i m sure i already got my moneys worth out of it"

"Sweet knife for the price! I love it and will buy a couple more. It's way better then expected."

"Out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised with the overall product. The knife was much larger than I expected from the picture (I didn't notice the 13.5\" OAL in the description), and the blade had some heft to it. There was a slight rattle between the grip and tang, and a lot of rattle between the guard and grip. The rattle didn't bother me for the money. The grip itself is plastic, which also didn't bother me for the money. The edge was poor, so I touched it up on a whetting stone. It took an edge quickly, which also means it loses its edge quickly during use. I didn't expect much from this blade, so again, it didn't bother me too much. What did bother me, however, was the grip shattering while in use. I was abusing the knife via several \"rough uses\" that I assumed a \"rough use\" knife would be adequate for. I was chopping small pieces from my firewood stack at various angles to test the edge, and the grip broke into several pieces. It is important to note that this is NOT a full-tang knife. The aluminum bushing in the bottom of the grip holds a piece of metal (I hesitate to say 'steel'), which in turn locks into another piece of metal, which in turn locks into the blade's tang. This is one reason why so many of these knives rattle--there is significant play between each of these locking pieces.Overall, if you want a knife for mild use, this is the one for you. It loses its edge quickly, but consequently sharpens easily. The grip does not handle shock at all, so try to keep chopping (stabbing, etc.) to a minimum against hard objects. I would most certainly NOT consider this a \"rough use\" knife, unless you are looking for something cheap and disposable, which, depending on your budget, this might be."

"I'm geting my moneys worth. I shaved with it, it was so sharp. A great knife to buy and a great knife to have but its hard to clean the blade after it gets dirty."
4.0 5
"I am an X SEAL. I have had this knife for 3 years. I have abused it thoroughly and then some. I have also sharpened the back false edge to cut both ways. I throw it at logs and stumps, the handle gets loose but I just pound it back. The brass holder in the hole on the handle has been totally destroyed but this is one of the best knives I have ever owned. For $10 I do not believe you can get a better knife for that cheap. As soon as I can, I'm getting 4-5 more just like it. As far as the handle splitting, it has not yet and I have used it in -20 degree weather. It's a good knife to abuse and I'm tough on every thing I use. To get a knife as tough as this has been for me you would have to spend a lot of money and even then I would destroy a lesser knife. HoooYaaa!"

"I originally bought this knife for chopping down some brush in my back yard, but then I read all the reviews about it not keeping an edge so I decided to put this knife to work in the kitchen. It works great for chopping through chicken wings and ribs. i haven\uFFFDt had too much trouble honing the blade, and it holds an edge pretty well. This knife was shaving-sharp right out of the box.The only discrepancy i have is that the guard wobbled loose soon after use, so I siliconed it downOverall this is a good kitchen knife, but not sure about outdoor applications."
4.0 5
"Ok, so i just received these in the mail, and they were dull, really dull, they wouldnt penetrate my workbench, but i sharpened em up, and they work great, bout a 1/4 ~ 1/3 inch penetration, with half power of my hand. I cant give 5 stars, because i havent been able to test em in a hunting/camping/emergency situation. Will update then. Also, no shaking whatsoever"

"I have alot of expensive knives, but believe it or not, this is the best knife I have ever owned! The handle was loose, but the blade is excellent! I took the handle off, filled it with epoxy, then stuck it back on. now its secure and ready for another hunting trip. Buy this knife, it's the best 10 bucks I ever spent!"
4.0 5
"Just got via FedEx today, immediately took it to the wood pile full of red oak. It batoned nicely, with very little work... I'm impressed. It isn't a very successful chopper, but it gets the job done. Took a good ten minutes to chop through a log the size of my fist, but that may be a skill set I don't have.I also opened a can of manwich with it for dinner. It worked!Unfortunately the handle is already loose (but I think some epoxy will fix it), and the sheath is crap. Look for the destruction tests on youtube, shows its rough use."
4.0 5
"I bought this knife for camping and I have to say this thing is awesome. Rough use is putting it polite. This thing can take a beating. The sheath is crap but for what I use it for the sheath is just to keep me from cutting my hand off. This thing came Rambo sharp, so be careful if you order one. I would have given it 5 bullets if the sheath wasn't such a POS."
5.0 5
"To be quite honest I was shocked by the value of this knife. I bought it because I like to have crappy knives around that I dont have to worry about harming, and I assumed it was just going to be some pos that would probably snap in a month or so. But no, this thing feels like a tank, even the hilt and handle feel rock solid. I almost want to take this thing out and purposely try to break it just to see what it could handle. im very impressed, especially with the value for the price tag. I would be willing to pay 2.5 times the cost for this."
5.0 5
"My second of the three knives, I have the \"Bolo\" version. This knife sure beats the hell out of most ten dollar knives. The only thing is, its a little dull at first, nothing a $2.00 stone can't fix. These knives are great for your bug-out bag or your Survival Trunk."
3.0 5
"You get what you pay for. I just got it today. The handle is plastic and I was expecting rubber. The coating on the blade is already starting to peel off. I have not even used it yet for anything! Its worth the price."
5.0 5
"I've got a pretty extensive collection of knives, but I always cringe when using a great (but expensive) blade for those prying, chopping, or digging jobs. These \"rough use\" knives are perfect. For a few bucks I have a knife I can beat the heck out of and not even flinch. Does it hold an edge like a Busse or a Scrap Yard Dog? No, but I won't cry if I chip the edge out, either! If you want a knife you can abuse and not worry about it, get one of these!"
5.0 5
"Very happy! Heavy and durable, wish it had a better sheath."

"Great knife for a cheap price, and the fact that it's a Bowie don't hurt either."

"Bought this item, not that well made, threw it at a tree and the handle broke. Not a \"Rough Use Knife\"!"

"I'm happy with this knife. Considering the price, I was not expecting much. Works great for splitting wood at the camp fire. Not very sharp. Well worth the bucks."
5.0 5
"Just received this knife today and i gotta say that its a HUGE slab of steel! It has a coating on the blade and a rubbery/plastic felling comfortable handle. not to mentions its cheap! You cant beat the price but you can beat the hell out of the knife. Worth the money, but its no show knife."
5.0 5
"For the price it cant be beat. I am ordoring a second for my son."
5.0 5
"I ordered this knife, cringing as I did so because I read the reviews saying that it's a great knife, but nothing about the size of the handle itself.I'm a bigger guy, and I have a tough time finding decent knives that have a handle big enough for me to hold comfortably. I'm happy to say that this knife has a VERY comfortable handle for guys with bigger hands who have this problem. The handle is even large enough that someone with even larger hands could comfortable hold it.Great knife, getchoo one!"
5.0 5
"For the money, there is no way to get a better knife than this. These are very tough knives. I have the \"Bolo Rough\" version and it is a great knife too. My knife also came with a sharpener attached to the sheath, bonus that I was not expecting. Thanks, CTD. I will be ordering more for Christmas presents."
5.0 5
"Awesome knife! Can't beat it for the money! Very happy with mine and will definitely be ordering another!"
4.0 5
"This China made knife came sharp, sheath is crappy. For this price, you cant beat this knife. I have Kabar's and I still enjoy having this china knife in my collection."
4.0 5
"This is one intimidating piece of steel in your hand. You whip this bad boy out for self defense and it will get you some respect. Moderately sharp out of the box. The sheath is a sloppy fit for the blade and handle snap. It makes quite a bit of noise when carried on your belt while walking. Mine was purchased for last chance defense, and is tucked under my matress by my head. I sleep well. For the price, you could be sleeping better too."
5.0 5
"This knife is the best. I have cut many things and has not chipped or broke. I got it and was amazed it came with sharper and very sharp. I rate it 5 bullets and 100%."
5.0 5
"I initially reviewed this knife back on 10/6/2009, and my opinion has changed considerably since then. First of all, this steel is a lot tougher than I originally thought. It turns out I was putting a much finer edge on the blade than I'm used to, causing rapid wear. I thought the steel was soft, and this just isn't the case. I still feel that the factory handle is of very poor quality and prone to shattering, and the short tang is a definite drawback. However, I refused to scrap it, so I welded a new handle out of some mild steel, then welded it onto the partial tang. I finished by wrapping the new handle with paracord, and it looks darn good. It is definitely heavier than before, but balances much better in my opinion. Best of all, I'm splitting wood with no trouble at all, with no concern about shattering the grip. I simply place the knife long ways atop a small log and pound it through using the flat of my axe. I can't stress enough how tough this thing is. I split a small wheelbarrow load of firewood this evening without any real sign of wear on the spine other than some chipping of the factory coating and slight deformation...far less than I would expect from pounding away on it with a 4lb steel axe. If you have the means to improve the grip, buy one and do so. You won't regret it."

"Good knife, 440 stainless steel. Comes with leather sheath and a concrete sharpener(useless). Good finish, does not come off easy even when sharpening."
2.0 5
"Came out of the box with the handle loose, barely attached. The sheath wasn't even close to a proper fit, and on top of that the blade wasn't even slightly sharp. Maybe I just received a fluke bad one, I expected much more after reading the other reviews."

"Immediately after writing my previous review CTD sent me a new one and I could not be happier. This thing is great. Cheaper Than Dirt customer service is SECOND TO NONE! Buy this knife, you can't go wrong. Thanks CTD!!"

"Great knife, just orderd 2 more for Christmas gifts."

"This knife is absolutely worth the $10. The knife is incredibly sturdy and well made (For a Chinese manufacture anyways). Great piece of steel to use for a combat knife; it's heavy, large, and durable. I couldn't quite tell if the product had been used before, there was very minor ware areound the handle but the blade itself seemed to be pristine. I'd say the sharpness of the blade is about a 7 out of 10, which is fine, because lets face it, this is a solid weapon not a ginsu sushi knife. overall great product."
5.0 5
"I can't complain at all about this blade. Sleek smooth design and the durability like none other. I have been slashing away with this Bowie and I can\uFFFDt get enough of it. I also got the other Bowie meant for stabbing and these two are just awesome weapons. Worth the money spent, a great buy."
4.0 5
"Ordered this one & the spear point, both seem sturdy. Look forward to using them. Bowie came with a couple nicks on the blade, spear did not. So be it. I sharpened them up on my belt sander, love this 440?, both took wicked edges, sheaths are adequate, only reason for 4 bullets. Get'em while you can."
4.0 5
"Just got mine 2 days ago and I'm already loving it! Not a ding or scratch on the blade, the sheath is good. An all around great buy. Its definitely worth it!"

"Just received this knife and, wow, for the price this is one hell of a knife. As long as I ignore the fact it is made in China, (but then you would have to become oblivious to anything you buy now days), I am proud to own this. It is a solid , comfortable item to go along with a shotgun when I am out in the sticks. I believe I will buy a few more for Christmas presents. The sheath was much better than I expected, very sturdy sheath with belt loop and snap strap. Just a good solid item to have on you if you are outdoors."

"I reviewed this knife from hearing about a cheap bowie knife that could take a beating. knifetest.com lead me to buy it after seeing it preform with the big boys...ain't much of a chopper but jesus it can take a beating . Will say this- the sheath can be better but I wouldn't mind paying for a better sheath. I'm native so this is the first knife I've bought ...I make my own...and cheaperthandirt now rides on my side on a daily walk..... be smart and buy it!"

"Good quality knife, well balanced, comfortable for large hands. Plan to strap on my plate carrier for when I run out of bullets. Sheath is only so so, but works fine. Great value for the price. Thinknig of buying a few more for future gifts."

"The Knife feels great in hand, but broke in 2 while chopping wood for a fire within 39 days of purchase. The return process was fast and friendly! I want to give this knife another try, I think this was 1 time event. I have reordered 2 more."

"Great knife. It was delivered sooner than expected. It came with a razor sharp blade and is a solid knife. It's nice for people with bigger hands. Great blade for the price."

"This is a great knife for the money! It's extremely tough and will hold up under rough use. I have this in my BOB, and even though it is quite a large knife, it actually takes up little space. There is a hole in the handle that you can tie some 550 cord through for a lanyard. The sheath, although not near as rugged looking as the knife, does its job just fine. You can't beat the price for this great knife!"

"Just got this knife delivered. Tried it out on some pallet slats that were laying around and it split them very easily. Do yourself a favor and buy this knife. My wife took a look at it once I tried it out and now I have to buy another one for myself. I will probably pick up a few more for gifts...at ten bucks each you really can't go wrong. The only problem with the whole thing was the snap on the sheath separated the first time I unsnapped it. Nothing a little gorilla glue didn't take care of, but the sheath is not the greatest. Still, this outfit is worthy of my collection and may even replace my Kabar as my camping and hiking carry knife."

"I know there are plenty of great reviews on this knife, but I wanted to give it my 2 cents. I love this knife. It's rugged, big, and all around great. The sheath is OK. I like the way it carries. It moves when you move, so it doesn't get caught on everything. It's kind of a pain to get the knife back in the sheath, but it just takes some getting used to. Over all, I would recommend this knife to anyone. It's a steal for the price."

"Great heavy duty knife, and sharp out of the box. Only four bullets because it was made in China. Designed in the U.S. though. This knife could easily take down Rambo, Van Damme, Norris, and the Terminator, all at once."

"I ordered this knife after watching the \"torture test\" on KnifeTests.com and being very impressed. Knowing that it could be built by one of many Chinese manufacturers, I was both surprised and disappointed when it turned out to be an M-Tech. I have nothing against M-Tech (I own other M-Tech knives) but I was hoping for something different, even if the specs were the same regardless of the brand. I've also seen some M-Tech fixed blade knives with loose guards and/or handles, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened the box. But, this knife arrived 100% intact and tightly assembled. Looking up the actual M-Tech knife on other sites, the blade coating is supposed to be Teflon. The blade is mystery 440, as is typical of cheap knives, although I own another M-Tech that are actually stamped 440C, so who knows? The handle is very \"grippy\" and comfortable, despite my initial reservations. The sheath is functional at best, but definitely nothing to brag about, and not likely to withstand much wear and tear. I have yet to subject the knife to any rough use, but if it can stand up to even routine cutting tasks, I'll reach for it ahead of my more expensive USA-made knives and see if it's worth ordering another."

"This knife had excellent reviews on youtube. Couldn't be happier with it. Not pretty but works great. And like the name says- it is rugged."

"Bought two, the spear and the Bowie. The Bowie is a time honored favorite for its frontier styled design. A tip for battle and defense and a hefty shank for hacking and chopping. The secret to the Bowie design has always been a hefty, weighty blade. This one is at the borderline of being too light. I foresee the cutaway tip will not take much abuse from hammering through wood to split kindling, etc. It's Bowie by design, but too light in heft. Grip is secured by a single aluminum rivet, which is probably not going to stand up to a \"lifetime of use\" we might want and expect, even at this price. The sheath is acceptable and made of thick ballistic fabric, which will go the distance. Two things about the knife that I like is it did come with a nominal edge and the blade has been given a tough anti-rust coating. The coating is finished in a stippling paint and not smooth, so one can expect that the coating will add resistance to the blade passing thru materials being cut by hacking activities, at least until that stipple is worn down by use. Now, the good news is the knife is cheap! It's better than the price and I'd buy it again."

"These won't last long for the price. This is a great knife. I wish they still had the Bolo style in stock, but definitely grab this one while you can."

"This knife really let me down. I decided to buy it after seeing an internet video. When I tested the strength of mine, doing exactly the same work as in the video, the knife broke in half! The knife fractured right above the hand guard. No sign of fatigue cracks, just a straight line fracture. After so many good reviews, I thought this knife would have been great. Maybe I just got the lemon. The knife I received was an MTech USA 440 Stainless steel Bowie knife."
