"i've been shooting this through my kimber eclipse and have yet to experience any jams or misfires. stock up, the dollar loses its value every week."

"Okay for practice when fresh, but if it's several months old, it is unreliable. I used some fresh out of the box and they were fine, and used some of the same box several months later, and the bullets were slipping out of their cases, causing problems with my pistol. This ammo is trash, and I'd stay away from it."

"These .45 rounds are fine for the range and load and shoot well enough, although they seem to shoot dirtier than both Magtech and S&B in this caliber. While the price is right, they are absolutely ordinary and not of a quality sufficient to make them \"rainy day\" storage ammo to squirrel away in quantity for serious emergencies. I wouldn't want to trust my life to a round of Blazer that had been sitting in an ammo can in my basement for five years. Plink with this stuff, but use the money you save toward nicer ammo for other purposes."

"Great ammo if you can buy it cheap. Over the past 5 years I've shot over 10,000 rounds of it and never had a problem. Several 1911 pistols, S&W 1917 revolver and Ruger Blackhawk not to mention my 1927A1 Thompson loves it too. Based on what another reviewer wtrote I dug some out of my emergency (attacked by alien-mutant-zombie-ninja-bears) stash. I had put some Blazer ammo in a GI fifty-cal ammo can in 2003. I fired one complete box and all 50 went bang as expected. It shoots to point of aim. I ran ten rounds over my chronograph with an average of 855 fps. I also had cycled 24 rounds (3 mags full) through a 1911 before I went to the range and saw no signs of bullet setback. I carry four loaded mags in a Bianchi quad mag pouch when I go backpacking for the weekend and you can really feel the weight savings from the aluminum cases. You can really tell the difference with a 50 round Thompson drum or a 30 round stick mag too. And since it's not reloadable I use it for plinking out at the gravel pit or on the farm and don't have to worry about losing the cases. I think it's great ammo for what it is. The only reason I didn't rate it a five was because it's not JHP."

"I just finished shooting 650 rounds of Blazer aluminum .45ACP at Front Sight, just two weeks ago. I had purchased a case of it about 4 months prior. I ran it through my XD45 4\" compact. No failure to fires, no failure to extracts. Yes, it isn't the highest quality ammo, but I experienced no reliability issues with it. I rated it a 5 because it is FMJ and that is what I am comparing it against....other FMJ 230 grain .45 ammunition. For target shooting, I can't imagine needing anything better. FWIW, I shot a 3/4\" 5 shot group (ragged hole drill) with it at 5 meters during the Front Sight class....not bad considering I only shot the one ragged hole drill. :>) I wouldn't call it junk ammo given that kind of performance."

"I'm a retired law enforcement officer and firearms trainer. I recently went through 5 boxes of Blazer 45 that had been in storage in my garage as emergency response ammo. Not in air tight mil-spec ammo cans either. These were in a loose lidded Rubbermade storage box. Every round went bang and with no noticable lack of recoil on any shot. They all went were I pointed them too. Not reliable enough for \"Rainy day\" emergency use? Hooey I say. These rounds had been put back almost 15 years ago. How's that for reliable? By the way, when CCI was loading Blazer 200gr hollow points in 45acp, I regularly carried them as my duty ammo in my S&W 645. This was long before HydraShoks, Golden Sabres and the like premium bullets were available. And I used the same ammo to win a number of local bowling pin matches. They would knock pins off the table with such force that they would hit the ground 4 or 5 feet behind the table. I just wish I could still get the 200gr JHP Blazers in 45 ACP. I do buy the projectiles when I feel like \"rolling my own\". I have been using the 230FMJs in IDPA and Bowling pin matches without any feed, extraction or failure to fire problems. I guess I went through close to 1000 rounds in the last year alone. The guys POO-POOing Blazer need to go out and shoot more."

"I have been shooting this ammo for several months now. I mainly use it at the range, but also load my Springfield Armory XD .45 with it every night before I go to bed. This ammo is great, it's cheap and shoots every time. Have not had one jam in my XD or in my Kimber. Been storing some .40 ammo for my Beretta 96 so we will see how it holds over time, not in airtight storage. Other than that, I would recommend it for everyone. Get it while you can."

"I bought blazer because it was cheap. I got what I paid for.In chambering a round to keep for defense around the house, I found that after you chamber the same round over several days, the projectile pushes WAY down into the casing. The first box I shot in my 1911A1 had 2 jams and they shoot dirty. They were accurate."

"Any 45 acp bullet will slip if repeatedly chambered. 45acp is not roll crimped. Try any ammo you want, it will do the same thing.Blazer is good stuff. The price is right for disposable ammo. I see no negatives for this price."

"I've shot a bunch of CCI Blazer, both brass and alloy. It's bit dirty. Quality? Some badmouth it, but to me 100% reliable and highly accurate = qood quality! I've had some big name \"quality\" stuff fail to go bang---never happened with my Blazer! I'm more impressed by performance and less with so called \"reputation.\""

"I've shot nearly 2000 rounds of Blazer through my Glock, and every single one did just what it was suppose to do. When it goes on sale again, I plan to stock up with this product."

"Just got my shipment yesterday... very fast service. Took it to the range last night and shot it at the weekly shooting league. Feeds great and fires well from my Bersa Thunder .45 UC.Will definitely buy more in the future."

"Cannot believe how great this ammo works. Everyone I spoke to said my springfield xd would turn its nose to this ammo and jam and misfire. I ran 200 rounds through this morning. IT TOTALLY OVER DELIVERED!! Buy this ammo, its a hair on the dirty side but if you clean your gun after each use as I do you'll have no problems. Thanks Cheaper than dirt!"

"I taught my wife how to shoot with this round and even with her left hand unsupported she can still hit center mass. For 230 grain an 50 rounds per box the price is inarguable and it is definitely the more bang for the buck."

"I bought some of this ammo a week ago to try it out in my Springfield XD45. It performed flawlessly! On the same day I shot this ammo, I also shot magtech, independence, and lastly Federal Premium (my defense ammo). The Blazer ammo was far less dirty than the magtech and independence and my groups were consistently tighter. Additionally, it had the same kick as the Federal and shot just as accurate. I had one misfeed out of 250 rounds, and it wasn't the Blazer (it was the magtech). In addition, I shot twice as much Blazer as I did any of the others. I highly recommend this ammo, it will be all I use for target shooting in the future."

"I just put 100 rounds of this stuff through my brand new CZ 97B at the range. I was comparing it to the equivalent from Wolf and Sellier & Bellot (which it's priced between) to find what I like. The recoil felt really nice in the gun and there wasn't much smoke, but the muzzle flash! Wow! It was almost like a basketball at my muzzle with every round! Pretty impressive but I don't know if the flash will get annoying. I'll probably continue to shoot it pretty often. Good deal!"

"I just ran 100 rounds of this stuff through my new Springfield XD45. It ran like a sewing machine.Aluminum-case Blazer ammo is no longer made, more's the pity. The .45 ACP stuff varied a bit from lot to lot, depending especially on what propellants the manufacturer could get the cheapest that week, but was usually clean, accurate and--in .45 ACP, anyway--pretty hot. Thus the great big white fireball that lights up the range, which others have noted. It's pretty stoutly loaded. I found it decently accurate. It shoots a bit to the left for me, but everything does in this XD because I'm still getting used to the trigger.Fifteen bucks a box is not bad for good quality .45 ACP hardball these days. It's not bad at all.I wish I could get a few boxes of the old Blazer .45 ACP 200-grain hollowpoints to run through this gun. But they don't make those any more either."

"Hundreds and hundres of rounds so far through my Sig P220 (with the 10-round clip) and they go bang every time and they go where I ask them to go and they make a very nice hole when they get there. And, at least to me, the flash is kinda cool (when I even notice it). :) For the money, I just can't ask for more. Since I keep all my ammo sealed anyway, I can't address the aging issue. I always stay stocked up on these, they just plain work, every time."

"I just want to say that this is by far the best .45 ammo on the market. I own a Ruger P90 and have shot a few hundred rounds of CCI Blazer through it with only positive results. It shoots very clean doesn't jam and has a very good price. I'm not lying when i say that this is the only ammo that I will shoot through my Ruger. And I'm From the great state of Idaho where this outstanding ammo is made so its nice to be able to support a local company."

"I read the reviews and decided to try some, they all performed well, still fresh from delivery (Nov-08) and no jambs in Ruger P345, 200 rnds, no faults, nice groups @15 yds. Don't know yet about long term storage. I use sealed (freezer) bags for extended shelf life. We'll see in 6 months if any change."

"Put a few boxes through my \"cheap\" HiPoint .45, no missfires or jams AND dead accurate! Couldn't say the same for PMC."
5.0 5
"I went thru several boxes of this ammo with my Kimber 1911(4\")very clean and low recoil, I will be buying some more of these."
5.0 5
"Great ammo, I put 300 rounds through my SIG P220, and not one malfunction. Low recoil, low residue, but the only thing that sucks, they can't be reloaded."
3.0 5
"During the shortage, I got my hands on a few boxes of this stuff. The metal casing had a rough texture that made it a pain to load into magazines. All of them fired and extracted well enough, but my Glock 21 was filthy afterwords. It's OK. But if there's anything else on the shelf, I'll probably go with it."

"Hey, for the price of this ammo, you can't beat it. Fires great, no fte or anything. Shot 100 rounds through my Glock 36."
5.0 5
"For the price this is hard to beat. It shot perfectly to POI to 25 yards with my Glock 36. The cases are aluminum so they are not reloadable but they are soft enough not to damage your extractor like steel cases *will*. It is also pretty clean compared to WWB, PMC, or UMC. Excellent target ammo."
5.0 5
"Wow, what a surprise this ammo was. I had developed a preference for the Blazer brand, as it relates to the .22 brand of ammo only. This truly was a delightful surprise. No FTFs within a 50 round box. I will buy more. Look out, BVAC. Blazer is competing."
4.0 5
"Shot 50 rounds in my Glock 30. All fed and fired. No issues so far."
3.0 5
"Lighter than brass-cased rounds, no FTE or FTF, reasonably accurate out to 25 yards. It burns dirty, and is not as smooth to load into mags. Heavier than usual muzzle flash."
