The Practical Shinobi Ninja-to, is crafted in patterns that closely resemble the Practical Katana. It is a wonderful addition for those studying the Way of the Ninja and similar martial arts. The blade is hand-forged from a high-carbon steel billet and is differentially hardened using a traditional claying method to temper the steel. All of the fittings, that are called koshirae, are finished in beautifully antiqued black iron. The ornate guard, known as a tsuba, displays the kuji-kiri which are the energy channeling hand positions employed by the mystical ninja. The elegant tsuka handle is wrapped in a white same, or synthetic ray skin, and the tsuka-ito cord wrap is in durable synthetic black leather. The scabbard called a saya has flat black finish with demon-head bindings for the black Japanese cotton sageo used to secure the sword and an intricate kojiri to protect the tip.
