Tactical Stock with Pistol Grip and Buttpad

The ATI SHOTFORCE Tactical 6 Position Buttstock is patterned after the M4 rifle stock and pistol grip. The stock is adjustable from a 9 1/4" length of pull to 13 1/4" and is made in the USA from matte black glass filled polymer. The included buttpad fits most M4 type stocks and reduces felt recoil for improved control. The collapsible stock includes a handy sling swivel stud and all the necessary mounting hardware.

Fits 12 gauge Mossberg 500, 590, Winchester 1200, 1300, Remington 870 and Maverick 88 shotguns.

"Excellent quality, easy to operate, comfortable grip and shoulder pad. Also purchased the 5 shot shell holder and it was perfect for me because I am left handed. Didn't get 5 bullets because the directions for installation were confusing and I had to call the company for help. That might have been my fault because I am not too gun savvy. I will definitely recommend it for any shotgun. Looks cool, too."

"Just purchased this Shotforce Butt Stock for my 12 guage Mossberg 88. It was easy to install and greatly improves the look of the gun. Adjustable stock makes easy for other shooters to use. I deffinetly recommend this item, if you are looking for a pistol grip with stock, this is it, great price too...."

"I bought this stock as a way to turn my mossberg 500 into \"Tacital Turkey\" gun for a cheap price. I put it on (it was easy) and was delighted with the looks. Then...I put it to my shoulder and discovered the drop on the comb was almost an inch higher than the factory Mossberg stock making it practically impossible to line up the two shotgun beads on the barrel without SMASHING your face down into the stock to get a proper lineup. I almost have to turn my head completely sideways to get a lineup on the beads. WHAT WAS ATI THINKING? Somebody needs to redesign it so it matches the factory drop in the comb."

"Since this stock is adjustable, it enabled me to get the perfect stock length for me to be 100% comfortable. (Also helps make the shotgun more compact when moving around tight spaces.) The pistol grip allows for great control, and I have been very happy with that. The one complaint that I have is a very slight rattle, but it is minimal and I can overlook that. I installed this on my Winchester 1300 Defender. It was very, very easy to install. I would have given it 5 stars, but the rattle between the components caused me to penalize the rating by a star. Overall, I'm very happy with it and it was well worth the money."

"I just recieved my butt stock for Christmas. I have been wanting this for years. After installing an ajustable butt stock on my SKS, I wanted one for my Mossberg 500-A even more. It took me less than 3 minutes to install. I notice that it is hard to line up the sights. After reading other reviews, it seems to be the problem with most people as well. This might be a set back but before saying anything bad, I am going to try a heat shield with ghost rings to raise the point of sight. The quality apears to be good and looks great. ATI made it so easy to install."

"this is a stock made for tactical purposes not hunting purposes. this is a stock that police and military uses. in order fo this stock to work for a hunter you have to make it fully tactical. you have to buy the ghost ring heat shield. i have 2 mavrick 88's with this same stock and i had the same hunting problems. after buying the heat shield with ghost ring sights i have no more problems. plus it actually looks way better.."

"I just purchased this Butt Stock for my 870 Express Mag. It was really simple to switch out my old with the new... It only took 3 minutes. I have no problems with seeing the sights. Plus you need to take into account that you are adding it to a shotgun. As long as you can see about where you are shooting you will still hit your target. A great product and I would recommend it to everyone. I also got the 5 shot holder and that worked well. It mounted to the Butt Stock very simply. Good quality product and looks like it will hold up for a very long time."

"Bought this for my Mossberg 500. I wanted an adjustable stock with a pistol grip, which I find comfortable. Install was easy. although some have problems getting a sight picture with the standard bead, the extra height of the comb worked very well in raising my sight plane to my red dot sight and mount. While light, I use a ported barrel that seems to tame the recoil. My only minor complaint is that the butt rides on it's support with a wee bit of side to side play, even after it's locked. I've had no problem with it when shouldered. Good buy for me. Dave R"

"Used same one for years and works great. Could use a better recoil pad but no complaints. Just got a 5 shell holder that screwsw to it and I also like that too. I did find on another site a very thin drop down wedge spacer that goes between the rifle and butt stock that slightly angles it down for better position. Around $6 I think. Dont know if it works but I got it anyways. Search for ati drop spacer. Alot of people on websites give this stock crap but I really like it."

"Bought this for my Mossberg 500 12 ga. I use a Williams receiver ghost ring and found the comb too high to be comfortable. Bought the ATI 1/2\" comb drop adapter and it lines sights up perfectly. I'm buying one for my Mossberg 20ga now."

"A great stock and well worth the money. I installed on my Mossberg 590 and am very pleased with the look and feel of the gun. As other reviewers have said this stock does go straight back with very little drop at the comb, so the stock drop spacers for a couple extra bucks may be in order. Besides that it's a well built, durable product that should definitely be considered if your in the market for a new stock."

"I bought one of these and installed it on my Winchester 1300. It was pretty easy and I like the fact that I can customize the length of pull, plus it gives my shotgun that \"tactical\" look. Like most everyone else said, get the stock drop spacer to go with this because you'll need it. ATI products are guaranteed for life so there's really no excuse not to buy this."

"Got this for Christmas and it is awesome. Yes, it's a little harder to see the sights on a rib less barrel, but with a vented rib i have no troubles seeing the sights. I did on my 18.5in barrel, but here's a solution: get the heat shield with the ghost sights. It may take a while to get use to it, but it works wonderful. Was gonna give it 4 bullets because, as opposed to my wooden stock, it's lighter and makes my shotty kick more, but i got over that really quick. Espically with the adrenalin pumping while goose/duck/pheasant hunting."

"bought the ATI butt stock, for mossberg 500 shotgun, great product, looks fantastic, just wish the bolt that was supplied with it was the right size, and not a half an inch to long, which if you are a mossberg 500 owner you will break your safety selector switch in half inside your gun. oh and by the way cheaper than dirt could care less about you and your 16yr olds x-mass gift. their customer svc said it must have happened in the installation. well no kidding!!, thank you c t d for not standing behind the products you sell. and my son still wants to buy stuff for his shotgun from you guys, FAT CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING."

"I just got this in for Mossy 500A. Like coach said, the bolt is about 1/4 inch too long. During installation, i noticed the bolt was tight, but not the stock. So instead of doing what Coach D (rocket scientist) did and messing up your safety, cut the bolt off 1/4 inch with a Dremel or good straight cutting saw. Get the burrs off the end of the new threads, and put her in. Went on like a glove for me after being cut down. I didnt like the fact of having to mod it, but hey, everything cant be perfect right? I would highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a good pistol grip while retaining a good stock. The 5-slot shell holder works great too."

"This is exactly what I needed for my Mossberg 500 shotty. I am glad I bought the comb drop spacers (2 sets) so I could get the sights to line up without the need for a barrel shroud that has ghost sights. It is very useful, my only gripe is the butt pad likes to stick to your clothes when bringing it up to your shoulder. If you are going to use the front bead sight, you will need the +1/4 inch spacers from 2 sets of the spacers you can order CTD# 47056 (Remember, two sets)"

"just installed on a winchester 1400. fits perfect with no modification necassary. fully extended with the included butt pad it is actually a hair longer than the factory stock which is actually good for me. seems to have the same angles as factory stock also. no need for spacers or ghost sights. can't wait to go shoot it now."

"I had purchased the same stock essentially for my mini 14 and decided to try it out on my newly purchased mossberg 590. Same as before, great quality product at a reasonable price. I added the 5 shot holder as well. All mounted easily. The kick isn't any worse than standard stocks with slugs and 00. All in all, if you just want that pistol grip feel, I don't see how it can get better for the price. If you're planning on shooting nothing but slugs and 00 than just buy the knoxx for the extra money."

"Assembly was a snap. But beware Mossberg lovers. After putting it on my Moss500A I soon realized that I couldnt get to the safety or the slide button without moving my trigger hand away from the trigger. Not cool. Mossbergs design is perfect for a standard shotgun type stock. You can easily reach everything and still have your finger on or near the trigger. Thats one of the things I always liked over the Remingtons(nothing against Remington). The Remington 870 is a great gun. In fact, the placement of their safety would favor a pistol grip more than the Bergs."

"This stock fits perfectly on my Mossberg 500A. Installation was very easy; I had no problem with the hex bolt that other reviewers mentioned, so ATI must have fixed that problem. This has got to be the best stock that you can buy for a shotty. The stock expands and collapses in a pinch with a spring-loaded lever and the removeable buttpad is great. It is light and very sturdy. The stock even detaches from the pistol grip so the shotgun can be used with the pistol grip only. Plus, with the buttpad removed I found that a single shell can be stored within the stock (I tried 2 3/4\", but I imagine that a 3\" shell would fit in there too). I'm going to pick up the shell holder next. My only gripe is that now I have to remove the stock and pistol grip in order to field strip the gun because the pistol grip projects under the trigger housing assembly making it impossible to remove without removing the grip first. Anyway, it is an awesome stock with some great features. I highly recommend it!"

"Got this for my Remington 870. Installation wasn't too bad. I don't have the best tools, so it would probably be a snap if you did. The grips fits nice in my average sized hand. Also got the Shell holder to go with it, SHT 009 I think."

"Ordered this stock. I liked the way it looked and felt. I then did a function check. The bolt that was supplied for the Mossberg 500 was cut 1/2\" too long. It damaged the trigger in a way that made the safety malfunction. I would put it on \"safe\" and it still went \"boom.\" This cost me $74.55 at my local gunsmith.A bolt that came with the gun for the regular Mossberg pistol grip (no stock) works but the head is larger and makes it difficult to get the stock tube to fit far enough into the grip.As a guy on a budget, this did not make me happy.I still like the stock, but am feeling the burn from damaging my shotgun with the bolt they supplied!"

"Have a Remington 870, 20 ga., Express Tactical for home defense. My wife is small and the length of pull was too long for her. Bought this for the adjustable stock. Installation would have been a snap if it had not been for the 'alteration' needed for a 20 ga., per the installation instructions. The Remington adaptor needed extensive filing; luckily I had all the necessary Dremel attachments and it still took 3 hours of careful modifications of the adaptor to get a 'close to acceptable' fit. I managed to get a good close tight fit on top of the receiver where it would be visible. The width of the adaptor is too wide (cannot be modified); the haunch where the round top of the receiver transitions into the flat side of the receiver does not match up (minor & visual); the bottom of the adaptor is too long and requires significant trimming to match with the receiver and pistol grip (also to clear the safety). The cheesy plastic pistol grip would be improved with some sort of a rubber butt plug/cap (no giggles now). There are probably better fits for 20 ga. out there."

"This stock does not look that spectacular in the picture provided. Rest assured it is a quality, very solid stock. I had no issues installing with a multi-purpose screwdriver kit. Took about 5 minutes. Would recommend the stock-drop spacer - even though I have a picatinny with flip up ghost-rings, it's a nice drop and feels more comfortable to shoot. Color matches my black 870 Tactical perfectly. It's a retro-fit item, so it does not look like it was meant for the gun, but it's universal and it gets the job done. I love it."

"Ordered this on Monday night around Midnight. Woke up on Wednesday and had it on my door step. Really quick delivery best thing about ordering from Cheaper Than Dirt. Only needed it a phillips and a flathead to take off the stock of my 870. Placed the right adapter tighed it down with the included allen wrench and done. Cant wait to go shoot it. Only reason I did not give it five stars is the fit not perfect but really good and the grip is slick I will get a slip on houge grip and think that will make it just right."

"I ordered this for my Mossberg 500A and had it in three days. After I finally managed to get my stock stock off it went on without any trouble. I disassembled my gun and test fitted the attetchment bolt. I found that the bolt was not too long and came nowhere close to damaging my safety mechanism. In fact it fit like it was made for it. The only problem I had was putting the shoulder stock into the rear of the pistol grip. I had to file out the bolt hole on the stock some. I then went and shot my mossy with heavy dove, 00 buckshot and slugs. The stock worked as advertised and was very secure in shooting. I am pleasently pleased with this purchase. The reason I only give it 4 and not 5 bullets is for the following reasons:1. as mentioned above I had to do some fidly work with the stock (although this really doesn't even rate as you will have to fiddle with just about all non-factory and even many factory parts)2. the pistol grip, while nice, is a bit on the thin side and as was said does not have a cap or plug for thr bottom3. the rubber pad is just a little bit thin than I like. One may consider finding an alternate pad to install on the rear. But for quality, price, and performance I love it. For a poor bloke on a small budget it was wonderful and really deserves 4.5 bullets."

"I installed this stock/grip on my Remington 870 without any problems whatsoever. There is that small gap between the pistol grip and the shotgun, but I haven't had any issues with it yet. I've fired every kind of 12ga slug that I could find through it and still no problems. Great quality and an overall excellent product! The recoil pad that comes with the stock isn't half bad either."

"I purchased this stock about a month ago for my Mossberg 500C 20 gauge and i am very happy with it. it has a very nice feel and cuts down recoil by at lest 50%. It also fit near perfectly. The only problem I had while installing was the the set screw that holds the detachable stock to the pistol grip took a little work to get in. Just a quck pass will a drill and it slid right in. I also needed the required spacers to get a good view of the sight. But other than that it is a very good stock and I highly recomend it for a Mossberg 500 20 gauge"

"This stock is very sturdy and locks solidly in each position. Readily accepts part# SHT-009 to add 5 shells to one side or the other. Multiple sling mounting options (through slot, around stock, or through swivel) and pistol grip feels nice. Pistol grip can be used by itself without the stock. The screw/bolt that secures the two IS a tight fit, but you do well to merely tap it with a rubber mallet and it goes right through.I give it a 4 start rating because if you want to shoot trap or skeet with the weapon you put it on...or use the bead sight for any reason like the gun was designed for, you will need to buy the stock drop spacer.I'm a small framed guy and I like my tactical weapons to be in tight...this is the stock for the job. It also reaches way out for you big booouys."

"I bought this stock for my Mossberg Maverick 88. It fits and looks great. When I took my gun out to the range, I found that the stock made the gun more comfortable and easier to hold. The pistol grip is great!!!! The only reason I gave it 4 bullets and not 5, is due to the fact that instalation was a little trickier than I thought it would be. Overall, this was a great buy!!!!!"

"I purchased this for my Mossberg Maverick model 88, stock came with instructions and all bolts required for a few types of shotguns. I also purchased the shotshell holder for the stock its way cool. With the pistol grip the cocking release can be depressed with thumb and safety can be de-activated with index finger."

"I love this butt stock. The only reason I gave it 4 bullets was because I had to drill out the existing hole in the stock to accept the head of the bolt used for securing the pistol grip. In my opinion, if it's made for a mossberg 500 then it should probably fit without alteration. On a brighter note, I ordered this on Monday and it arrived Wednesday morning. CTD will always be my first choice."

"This is a pretty good piece of kit. I bought it for my Mossberg 500C (20ga. Persuader), and it went on with little fuss. I did have to shave a little bit off the pistol grip, and added a couple of flat washers to the mounting bolt to prevent it from impacting the safety mechanism, but it still took little more than five minutes to do. The machine screw set that mounts the buttstock to the pistol grip was a tight fit, as well, but it went in without modification to either the grip or the stock. I am happy with the installation and it looks great. And, with the adjustable length of pull, now the wife can have some shotgun fun on the range."

"This is a great stock and is a great improvement to the 590A1's original stock. The spacer, 60388, is must for the right stock angle; if you have GR sights. The 5 shell holder, SHT-006, is also a great addition, but not as needed as the spacer."

"This is the perfect stock for the left handed Tactical shoots. I also added the 5 shell holder on the left side of the stock. Looks great and for me being left handed work fantastic. with my trigger finger extended along the frame of the weapon I can easily reach the pump release on my Mosburg 500. I could see where this would not work as well for a right handed shooter though. I also did not use the drop comb space that I ordered additionally after reading all of the other reviews. I found that I like to have a little higher (heads up) field of view. I can still see the bead, I am just not aligned along the rib with it. but since this is not a trap or skeet gun I don't need to be. over all this is a very high quality and very effective stock."

"This Buttstock fits and looks great on my Mossberg 500a. But when I went to the range, I walked away very very sore. Man this this makes the Recoil hurt bad. Not to sound like a wimp. I was used to just having a pistol grip only and shooting from the hip. I am happy with the looks and fit, but unhappy about the pain. I think I am gonna look for a Butt Stock with Recoil Supressing."

"overall a great product. i agree with others who have said it hurts a little bit. there is padding but it's not awesome. i don't mind the feeling cuz the kick let's you respect the gun. however, being adjustable you can find a comfortable position that works and keeps pain to a minimum (shooting in a wrong position is what especially hurts). installation itself was a breeze and taking it off takes seconds. the tactical stock makes it very easy to shoot one handed or from the hip. i don't necessarily like the feel of the pistol grip itself as it seems a little too skinny for my hand and the plastic it is made of is hard and hollow. i hardly think about it when i'm actually shooting tho. i've put over 200 rounds thru it already including slugs, buckshot, and birdshot and i'd definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested"

"bought the stock for my mossberg 500 and went on without a problem. the stock is comparable with the tactical stock on my bushmaster AR 15 except that there is a little bit more play in the stock and the spring that locks into the set positions is a little weak but does the job. would have been 5 stars if the quality was just a little bit better but for the money it's a great stock. also love the butt pad that comes with it. definitely a big help and a necessity."

"In my first review I said the drop stock spacer was not needed, however after actually shooting at the range it was apparent that it is needed unless you have ghost sights. Still works great after 8 months. Be sure to check that the new mounting bolt is not longer AFTER installation as it will interfere with the bolt operation."

"I was very excited and CTD delivered quickly as always. I remove my factory stock on My Winchester Defender 1300 and installed the new stock in just a few minutes, pulled it up to my cheek and there is NO way to even get close to lining up on my sites No matter what angle I got at. There is NO way possible to use you iron sights or bead once you put this stock on this shotgun. Now there may be something else to buy to make it work but I had not planned on doing that and the stock does not say anything about requiring new sites. I made a poor decision to grind and file on the stock thinking I might be able to get it to work and lower the read of the stock enough to make it work. Well now after I have spent three hours grinding and filing I am sure I have done enough that it is not returnable which is what I should have done in the first place. Now I will put my stock back on and send this one to the trash can. I would not recommend purchasing this stock for a Winchester Defender 1300 unless you plan on adding optics."

"Have an 870 Tactical with a pretty thick pad. I'm short at height and that naturally leaves me with short arms! ;-) Felt a little awkward and though I could have replaced the butt-pad, I opted for a collapsible stock... more well rounded. The adjustable stock makes it easy to adapt when you wear layered clothing or gear such as heavy jackets, etc. It feels a lil' on the cheap side, but you get what you pay for. Rattles a lil'. But overall it's a great stock. As stated below... you need the spacer for this regardless what anyone else says."

"I bought this for my Maverick 88 just to tac it up a bit. The world's easiest installation. I went directly out to the desert with a new pack of bulk shells and tried 100 through it. The recoil was greatly reduced since you can disperse the shock through your shoulder and your hand vs one or the other. With this order I included the ATI ghost ring sight heat sheild. I could obtain a sight picture very easily. In conclusion I have no idea what the bad reviews are about, lower recoil, easy aim. Buy it for any shotgun, it's great."

It is impossible to use it with the bead sight on the barrel but i already have the heatshield with sights and it all works together perfictly. It's super easy to install and comes with two adapters(one for a Remington 870 and another for a Norinco 98), but I have neither of those guns.It came with a rubber recoil pad that feels a bit better than just the hard plastic. If you have big hands like I do, the pistol grip might feel a bit small but still comfortable. This is one solid stock and has pre-drilled holes for the ATI shell saddle on both sides of the stock. This is a great buy if you're looking for a M4 style stock for a good price."

"Well, assembling was a little challenge. The screw that holds the buttstock/tube to the pistol grip didn't want to go in right away, but a little work with a drill fixed that (just enough to let the screw pass thru). But, once attached, the thing is solid and feels great."

"Pretty good stock for my Winchester Defender 1300. Easy install, makes handling the shotgun easier for three gun."

"I ordered this stock for my Winchester 1300 in 20ga. When it showed up I was happy to see the \"Made in the USA\" at the top. Unfortunately, it did not fit my gun. Since it's the only Winchester shotgun I have, i don't know if the 20 is built differently than any other. No matter how I tried to get the adapter to fit, it wasn't working. The quality looked pretty good, but I couldn't get it to work."

"Easy to install but sits to high to draw a bead. Pretty worthless."

"Not bad for the money. I added this to my mossberg 500 and I like the tactical feel, but don't care for the plastic. One word of caution, be careful while installing this. The double side bolt they give you strips very easily. But all in all, not bad for the price. P.s. And I got the products in only two days"

"I received in just a couple of days with the cheapest shipping method. I already had the old stock off of my Mossberg 500A. When I received this stock it took me an entire 5 minutes to install the new stock. I did although put a touch of lock-tite to the bolts, just for extra hold. This is an awesome product. My Mossberg is camo so I wish this came in a camo pattern. But I added the camo on my shotgun so I'm about to go out and paint the stock to match. Awesome product for the price. Pictures on facebook. Look for Christopher Bear. Then under profile pictures."

"Amazing, How many people blame the product for incompetant skills. I put the ATI stock, ghost ring heatshield, and shell carrier on an old short barreled win 1400, easy to install just follow the instructions. Now it's a hot little hunter."
