"I didn\uFFFDt think I would use this all that much but thought it would be nice to have so my rifle could shoot .223 and .22LR. Now I shoot the 22 LR more than anything. Since my wife and kids have started shooting the AR conversion is what they prefer. My boys will almost shoot a whole brick in one sitting and this conversion keeps working. I have never had a problem with it. I am saving so much on ammo. I am glad I purchased this."

"This conversion is great. It is easy to change, cheap to use and you can shoot in indoor ranges. The only draw back is the accuracy and mags. The accuracy could be better but I haven't not spent much time on that. The mags should all be 30rd and cheaper, but those are the only draw backs. Great for plinking and fun target practice. I have a converison for my Glock, but that doesn't always work unless you have the right ammo. The AR-15 conversion, will jam a little bit with the wrong ammo, but not as sensitive as the glock. Good deal."

"First the service was great. I placed my order on Thursday and receivedit on Monday morning. If you own an AR15 you should have this kit. It fits and functions as claimed. I will shoot the .22 and save enough to payfor this kit in no time. Reggie"

"I received this item today, went straight to the range with it, and fired 500 rounds (high velocity cartridges) through it without a single misfire, or misfeed. It is also surprisingly accurate! I highly recommend it!"

"Just recieved my kit on thursday ,great service. Went to the range Saturday with it. What a blast to shoot. Shot a brick of Winchester Super X copper washed High Vel and worked great ,not one fail to fire or jam!!! After I ran out of 22lr I switched back to .223 . Took about one minute . Then shot a twenty round box thru it. At the price that .223 is going for this is great . 3 cents per round VS .30 to .50 cents a round. Time to stock up on .22LR ammo!! I will be converting my 1911 pistol soon also and maybe my AK-47 . I also want to get a 30 round mag ."

"I see that a lot of people have had success with this product. Unfortunately I have not (yet).I have found that my Ciener kit will not go completely into battery. The bolt face simply will not close once it is installed. It appears that it is getting caught up on the bolt catch. It's hard to see from the mag well you can easily feel it when you put your finger on the bolt catch release button and let it shut.Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether to return the thing or do some gunsmithing on it (which will certainly void any warranties and preclude me from being able to return it.Good luck with yours.Robert"

"Received my conversion kit and took it to the field. It was simple to install (no special tools). If you can semi-field strip your ar-15, you can install this kit in about 60 seconds. No exaduration! It fired without a jam and for close quarters training or just plinking - its a blast. Cheap to. My young daughters always want to fire my guns.... this is perfect for them to handle and build confidence with a full size weapon."

"I absolutely love this mod. It works great and hits accurate to at least 100 yards. It's great to go from paying 20 dollars for 20 .223 rounds to 10 bucks for 500 rounds of 22 lr."

"Definately a good investment. I have an RRA and this conversion works great. It particularly seems to like the cheap bulk packs of 22lr. Accuracy is pretty good and becomes down right respectable with 60gr Aquila Sniper Sub Sonics. Even with sustained rapid fire you are at no risk of harming your barrel as you are with 223. Your rifle will get dirty quickly however, so take an aerosal cleaner along if you plan on going through more than 1000 rounds. My cycling reliablity went up dramatically after smoothing the surfaces by disassembling the unit and tossing it in my brass tumbler, which I highly recommend."

"I purchased the Smith & Wesson MP-15 I bought the conversion kit to save on ammo. The conversion kit is very accurate but my gun will not shoot two rounds without stove piping the spent case for which you have to remove the kit to get the shell out because it gets caught between the charging handle and the conersion assembly. I called tech services and they told me for some reason the kit doesn't work right on the MP-15 so it's not the kit it's the MP-15 I hope they get the problem solved because I love how it shoots just hate taking the gun apart after a shot or two.JOHN 3:16Steven in Sun City"

"I was thinking I wanted a dedicated .22LR upper, but I really wanted to use my current optics, as well as having the same weight and feel, etc, so I went with the conversion kit. I'm so glad I did. I see 1 or 2 horror stories posted here, and I feel for them, but I guess you can get a lemon with anything. Mine worked perfect right out of the box. I have had 1 stovepipe in 500 rounds of bulk Winchester ammo, and perfect performance with 1000 rounds of bulk Remington. That's around $35 of 22 ammo. 1500 rounds of .223 will run you $500 at least. I say, if you're on the fence about getting one of these, just go ahead and do it. Yea, the price has jumped up $30 recently, but don't wait till it goes up even more. You'll save the cost of the whole thing in one afternoon at the range. Get a few of the blackdogmachine 30 round mags as well. They are good quality for the money and you will definitly want at least a couple. The 'smoke' ones are dark enough to look 'cool' and still let you see what you've got left."

"I wrote a review a while back about my new conversion kit, I must say it's getting better. I quit using the Remington ammo with a wax coating and started using Federal and I'm getting better results. I could have sent the kit back, but for the money if it keeps improving it will be well worth the trials. The other thing is that I only shot about 100 rds of 223 so the blue finish wasn't even smothed out yet on the moving parts. The gun is so fun to shoot in 22lr. I'll continue to give feed back on my conversion kit. Even if I don't ever get all the perfect shots like some of you have had it's still a awsome investment when you look at the price's of 223 ammo. Thanks John 3:16-17"

"I bought this conversion kit when I bought my new Bushmaster M4, and this is easily the best firearms accessory I've EVER bought. Given the price of .223 these days being able to shoot .22 is a huge bonus and a big part of the reason I bought the rifle. Using an AR-15 as a .22 plinker definitely makes it the most bad-ass (and fun) plinker around. If you're out for fun shooting like me and can't thousands of rounds of .223, buy one today. I also bought one 30rd. mag and it definitely wasn't enough- buy a few."

"All the reviews looked good, thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did. 30 seconds to change, fires like a charm. Still lots of fun to shoot. Way cheaper. Nicer for my daughters to learn on. I still like to shoot .223, but this is a great alternative for casual plinking. Highly recommend it. Well designed and built."

"Took mine out to the range today. Worked good for about 30 rounds then everything failed to extract. Took it out and the extractor and was chipped and was no longer grabbing the round. I put the original carrier back in place and it now wont cycle properly with .223.When I went to clean my AR15 I found the bolt carrier key was damaged because the 22 shells that failed to eject bent the gas tube so when the original bolt carrier was installed it hit the key and nicked it. When I got home I found the OEMs site for the conversion kit had all of the contact pages broken on their web site. They list the part as only $ 5.00 but show no instructions on how the unit disassembles to replace it. A search of the web shows numerous bad reviews on customer service and how they are so back ordered they don't answer emails or faxes. For the people it worked for congratulations but the chance of it breaking the firearm is not worth the price."

"I purchased several of these after I used a friend's .22 kit, (I tried to wear it out). A little stiff out of the box but all work excellent after breaking in. You can either shoot it or lightly run a flat file over the slide rails, top and bottom, to break it in. You are NOT filing to remove metal just to \"wear\" it in, smoother than it is. These kits like generous amount of REM-OIL spray (Item #: 66946). I've shot mine in both full-auto and semi-auto with no mechanical problems. Black Dog mags are an excellent accessory for this kit as well.(Item #: MAG-081). Accuracy is decent out of a \"old\" 1-12 twist 20\" M16 barrel using Fed Valu-pak ammo. Bowling pins at 100yds, open sights, every time. Don't expect match accuracy."

"I have both the original military M261 as well as the Ceiner M16 conversion kits and love them both! The Military surplus M261 is semi only but works perfectly with the 10 round mags that fit inside a .223 mag, the Ceiner can fire in full auto only if you buy the kit specifically for the M16, it has a Sear Trip to operate the auto sear included with it that the AR15 kit does not have, (of course unless you have a M16 you don't need that part) in a registered receiver M16 it works very well at doing 30 round mag dumps with little maintenance. These kits are lots of fun, a lot cheaper to shoot and the point of aim is only about 6\" lower than .223 at 100 yards. I frequently use mine with my Gemtech Out Back, Aquilla 60 grain SSS and a 1in 9 twist barrel, it is very quiet and very accurate. It is like the SSS ammo was just made for this application! As for cleaning your .223 gas system I always make sure to carry a mag full of .223's with me and just fire them when I am done for the day, this cleans out the gas system and ensures the firearm is ready to operate next time (though I have never had a problem)I would definitely recommend these kits for anyone wanting to have fun plinking for less $$$. Ammo these days in out of sight!Excellent investment for the money, sure to bring a lot more use of your AR15 than firing .223 alone. Buy one and enjoy your time at the range"

"This kit works very well with the factory 10 round magazine. No malfunctions in about 100 rounds with that mag. Shoots into 1\" at 50 yds in my Bushmaster Carbon 15, which has a 1:8 twist barrel. The two Blackdog 30 round magazines I bought gave me a lot of trouble with jams. They are the older, skinny style magazines still available. Empty cases kept jamming between the end of the charging handle and the kit. It took awhile to figure out that you need to leave the charge handle forward and push the bolt back with your finger to clear it. Cases and case pieces jammed in other locations also. The plastic mags seem to drag on the bolt as its cycling. Even with some smoothing and trimming, I couldn't get them to work. I plan to return the mags and buy some Ciener 30 rounders. It was very cool seeing bullet holes appear in the target down range without much sound and no recoil. This kit is a great option to have and should work very well in teaching shooting to any new shooter, but especially children."

"The first time I used the Ciener kit, I had a lot of failures-to-feed, even tho I'd cleaned and lubed it before shooting. I took it home, cleaned it and lubed it and then lubed it some more. I just got back for shooting high velocity 40 grain loads and standard velocity loads and it ran like a top, except for the first round that failed to fully eject. The kit is more accurate than I can hold. I'd recommend it for anyone with an AR-type rifle. One of the reviewers had problems using the kit with his S&W M&P15. I've got the -15T version and don't have a problem with it as long as it's well lubed. Not many things are fun and inexpensive these days - this is one of them."

"This conversion kit is one of the best investments since my Stag Arms AR. It shoots flawlessly. Just yesterday I was shooting jack rabits with this plus my Aimpoint Comp M2 and couldn't miss. I will give this 5 bullets anyday, but I also strongly recomend wearing eye protection while shooting this because I have been hit with some fragments of hot gunpowder while shooting this. But don't let this discourage you to buy it because it doesn't happen that much, isn't that bad when it happens, and is just something a lot of semi or fully automatic guns do."

"went to the range with my bushmaster m4 a3. i was able to put well over 350 rounds down range with out a single hickup. i did notice that if you hold the triger just right it will send all of the rounds down range. but that is just a shooter issue. the converstion kit works as it should. i would reccomend that you buy the large cap. mags for this. 10 rounds is just not enough. very accurate. i even broke a few plinking targets. the system takes a lil thought to clean well. and if you dont keep track of how many rounds where shot, after the last one you will have to pull the charging handle to the rear to put the weapon on safe. but all in all. this is a great product. great for training and for fun. i have told everyone that iknow that has an m16/ar15/m4 to get this. so much cheaper on bullites as well."

"This is the best thing i ever done on my AR-15. The .22LR conversion performed flawlessly not a single bullets jammed. I fired 2,300 rounds on a single day from CCI Stinger,CCI Mini mag, winchester, Remington, American Eagle, Federal, Remington subsonic, Agiula. If you love to shot and keep up with your training without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this great product."

"This kit works well with my Rock River AR-15, but the firing pin broke after 5,000 rounds. I saw some of the reviews that had the same complaint. We should all write Arthur Ciener and strongly recommend that the firing pins for the AR-15 conversion kit be made of titanium or offer titanium firing pins as an option. I would be willing to pay $20 more for this feature."

"I purchased this to save money on ammo. I do save money but it is not very much, I go shooting twice as much now. I am more than pleased with this product, you can easily interchange the bolt in a matter of seconds. I own a Bushmaster AR-15. I recommend buying several of the additional magazines, you will want them once you go through a few rounds. Go ahead, just get it, you wont regret it. Thanks CTD"

"This is a fairly good product. I received mine within 3 days as was promised. The kit works fine. The mag fits fairly tight. It will not fall out on its own, but I didn't expect that. A little filling helped. It jams about every 100-200 rounds which is pretty good. It does build up a lot of hard carbon but it is nothing that a scraper and some cleaner can't handle. It takes about 20 seconds to put the new bolt in and it slides right into place. When charging the weapon the handle only goes back about 2 inches. The charging handle will also not lock to the rear. It is very accurate at 25 yards. I had to move my rear sight up 3 clicks and then I was dead on (at 25 yards) Overall it is a great product that will save me a lot of money. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested. Also just as a warning only shoot copper jacked rounds. The all lead rounds will screw around with your barrel and gas system."

"First of all, let me say this is a well made, very dependable conversion kit...I just ordered my second from CTD. I am very pleased with the results. I own 4 Ciener kits. 2 for my AR-15, one for my Beretta 92FS and one for my 1911. JAC makes the best conversion kits PERIOD. Just for comparison, I do own 2 Advantage Arms kits (1911 and Glock21) they are good kits BUT the JAC's are BEST. Always metal mags, (AA'a are polymer), and very well thought out. Sure, some say he is an ass, no customer service, slow to ship, etc, etc, etc. Yup, this may be the case but I have NEVER read of a case where JAC doesn't deliver the product..sooner or mostly later. He may be slow and a total jackass at customer service but he is NOT a crook. Paitence is a virtue, read their website, they do say they are \"SWAMPPED\" with orders. I placed an order (from JAC directly) for 2 pistol kits and a pile of 30rd AR-15 mags in Jun 2008, order rec'd in Oct 2008. Delay-OK, I read their website and understand the delay. I just now ordered another AR-15 kit from CTD, you pay a little more (vs direct from JAC) but get it faster. I ordered mine from CTD because I want it fast...before election day. If the wrong person gets elected, we may find the 1994 CB re-enacted. I was just getting into guns in 1994 and it really sucked paying $69 for 30rd mags for my 10/22. ...once bitten-twice shy..."

"Decided to give it a try due to hi ammo costs for .223. Was a bit worried about all the neg feedback I've read about Ceiner, but mine arrived quickly and operated without fault. It even worked with some .22LR that I've had for 7+ years! Not quite the kick of the new .22 ammo I bought, but it shows that you don't need much recoil for it to cycle. That's a good sign for some of the special Aguila ammo, such as the sub-sonic. I give it 4 out of 5 due to price. Given the demand, I don't know why there aren't more makers of conversion kits, which would help drop prices. In the meantime, it's a good buy and worked just fine for me!"

"All I can say is this kit is the best value around. My friend and I put 650 rounds through it the first day with only about 3 jams. After the first 4 clips no problems with jams. I suggest you oil and clean before using for the first time and make sure you use copper coated 22 LR ammo. Make sure you buy a second clip. 10 rounds go fast so you'll thanks me later. I can't imagine my AR without one now. $12 for .223 20 per box or $16 for 22LR 500 per box. SOLD!"

"Took it to the range today. Shot CCI mini-mag and Winchester Super X through it. Both are 40gr high velocity 1300 fps rounds. All shot and cycled flawlessly. Point of impact is a little different than that of my regular .223 rounds, but that is to be expected. For the price I'll save in ammo alone, I can afford to get another scope and zero it for the .22 rounds and swap scopes at the same time I install the kit. The kit fits and works perfectly in my Bushmaster.Had a little delivery issue - not caused by CTD, but by Fedex. But CTD stepped in and helped track it down. I got it a day later than I thought, but 1 day compared to several weeks if you try to order this straight from Ciener, is a real bargain."

"I got this item a little over a year ago ,,It's the real deal for cheap AR shooting worked and fed all the brands of LR. ammo I tried When you change back over to 223 you need to clean the gas tube and run several rounds through it to clean it out because the LR fouls the gas block and will not cycle the 223 round No big problem... put some heat in it and your good to go Now for the but ,,, after several 1000 rds. the fireing pin broke .. haven't sent it for repair yet ,,will let you know how this went later"

"Works great in my Bushmaster. Really fun, accurate, and cheap to shoot. I know that for the price you could buy a 10/22, but then you would have to trick out two guns instead of just your AR. The Black Dog mags worked fine for me. Overall, a good value."

"On 6/1108 I wrote that I had some problems with my unit initially. I've shot it a lot more and haven't had any more problems. It seems the phosphate (?) coating on the bolt and rails was causing some drag. Now, the bolt and rails are steel-on-steel and the kit works fine. One rater said the .22 rounds clog his gas tube. I'd suggest shooting copper jacketed/washed .22s. I don't have a problem using them. But, I still fire a few 5.56 rounds every few hundred rounds of .22LR. Great product!"

"This conversion is well worth it. I should have bought it years ago. I was very amazed at the noise reduction. It was a lot more accurate than I have heard other people say that it was. It's a lot more comfortable to fire the gun than with the 223. Now I'm going to safe all the 223's for armageddon and go use the 22's. To see it in action go to www.youtube.com/user/todar15."

"I bought this for my DPMS AR-15 a couple years ago. Since the 10 round magazine does not have a follower, after 10 rounds you'll dry fire if you don't count the shots, causing firing pin breakage after 3,000 rounds. NO JAMS, NO FAILURE TO FEED, NO PROBLEMS! Parts are available online, I got a new pin for $10.00 put it in myself.. THIS KIT IS A MUST!! You will need to fire about 10 rounds of .223 to clean the gas tube after 1,000+ rounds. This is the BEST buy for an AR-15.... YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!"

"I bought this conversion a month ago. Its the best investment i made yet. You should buy the BLACK DOG MAGS and throw away the ten round mag. that comes with the kit. Then you don't have to worry about counting the shots because with BLACK DOG MAGS it always leaves the bolt open on the last shot so it doesn't break your firing pin."

"I received my conversion kit late last week. I finally took it out to the range expecting minor problems since I had seen some negative feedback. I shot 200 rounds of CCI 40grain ammo and did not have a single misfire or jam. The 10 round clip does not catch therefore you have to be careful to count the rounds. The solution for this is to purchase a much cooler looking high round mag. Overall, I was not disapointed and expect the product to last based on its first days performance."

"got this about 2 months ago and to be honest, It was a nightmare using 36 or 37 grain ammo.but once I put cci or winchester 40 grain in the blackdog mags, i was going threw 500 round bricks like it was going out of style. In my shooting I had a lot of fouling after. had to clean alittle after 700 rounds. all good though. I would recamend this just because its alot cheaper to shoot and safer knowing the rounds cant go to far. the range I shot at was 85' max 25 shots all within 3\" so i would say pretty good I here it drops after 25 yards."

"Anyone who does not love this conversion must not know how to use it! I bought this last week for my m-4 and this thing rocks! I fired 40 gr and 35gr rounds thru my weapon and it never missfed ....not even once out of 150rds fresh out of the box!this is a great way to shoot the ar-15 family more often and expend cheap ammo. The clean up after was very easy....not much left behind, I have read where some people say it gets very dirty, however if you were ever in the military and used a blank adaptor and fired 100's of blanks. the m-16/ar-15 would still fire live rounds after words with a good cleaning. .22 rimfire rounds are no where as dirty as 5.56 blanks, so there should not be a problem with fouling......great buy....GET ONE!"

"I kept looking and looking and looking at this page, wondering if I should buy this or not. I finally took my chance and bought it with no regrets what so ever! I had previously bought it for an M16A2 upper with a semi-auto lower AR-15 and it works great on that! However, on my M&P-15T, the bottom of the bolt for the conversion keeps getting caught on the bolt catch every time it goes back to insert another cartridge into the chamber. Other than that, I have no quarrels with it what so ever. I just thought it was weird since it worked on one AR, but not the other."

"I've been sitting on the fence for years now about whether to buy one of these for several reasons: 1) I wasn't sure they were accurate. 2) I didn't understand exactly how they worked, so I was worried if they could possibly damage my weapon. 3) I have heard horror stories about buying them from Ciener himself regarding lead time (6-12 months!) and other issues (seriously, there's a website called www.donotbuyciener22lrconversions.org). Well, I just got mine (ordered Monday morning, arrived Wednesday afternoon; that's what I'm talkin' about!) and I am able to hit beer...I mean, soda cans from about 50 yards with little trouble (iron sights, mind you), and now that I can see how it works, I am not in the least worried about it damaging my rifle. If you're curious about that, the tube you see to the right in the picture is a \"liner\" for the OEM chamber that basically extends the barrel and creates a new chamber further back, and the bolt carrier is completely contained in the unit you see, i.e. this conversion makes no use of the rifle's buffer spring b/c it has it's own, and the travel of the bolt is only the length of the conversion. So, if you are like me and thought the conversion was a straight replacement bolt carrier, that's not quite how it works. The good news is that all of the moving parts are contained in the conversion itself, and they make no use of the rifles components. There's a little more to it than that, but that's the basic idea. Check out my review on the Blackdog mags for this conversion as well! Thanks CTD!"

"I bought a Ciener kit and was excited to begin saving money on it. It installed easily in my model 1 sales/bushmaster gun. However it did not feed or cycle with any of the ammo I used on it. When I took the upper off and tried to remove the conversion kit, IT WAS STUCK. I cannot remove it, it will not come out. So my entire upper is out of action. That means I can't return the defective part or shoot my gun! And forget about talking to the manufacturer, they dont answer the phone, and the warranty section of their website isn't there. HORRIBLE, now I am out $200 and whatever the gunsmith charges to remove it!!!!!"

"I bought it directly from Ceiner. Install was so simple it worried me, works in Bushmaster and Colt great. Worst part is now I gotta buy more 22 lr ammo and another kit so both of my grandsons can shoot at the same time.Black dog mags are a must, Ceiner mags have negative air pressure....they Suck, BIGTIME. Spend the $30 for the mag."

"I ordered this item on Monday along with some Black Dog mags, received it all on Thursday! I went out to the range today with a brick of cheap 22 ammo, \"Federal Lightning\" that cost me about $10 last summer.I shot 300 rounds through my M&P-15 with this conversion and it performed flawlessly. The grouping was about 1\" @ 40 yds and I punched the same hole several times while sighting it in. Rapid fire performance was excellent. I am looking forward to next weekend!!"

"If you are looking for fun cheap and quiet plinker on your AR then this is a solution. But there are side effects tho this conversion. 1-You need to spray CLP before the installation for it not to get stuck. 2-The blow back (back fires) from the gas tube will blow dust and particles on your face and cheeks...that hurts! And this kit would not accept PRI gas buster neither, seriously wear glasses at all time. 3-Until the bolt break-in in the 5.56 chamber some chunk of materials and metal maybe lost during that process. 4-There will be gum and heavy residue left on your upper, lower, and especially gas tube...spend 2 hours cleaning it if you don't mind. Other than the above it is quite worth what you paid for."

"I purchased one these conversion units and it works everytime with every brand of ammo I tested today. The assortment of ammo I tested was as follows: Aguilla 30gr., CCI Stinger 32gr., CCI Green Tag Match Rifle 40gr., Federal (550 rounds per pack) 36gr., Winchester Wildcat 40gr., Centurion 40gr.Out of all these tested not a one failed to function and the accuracy was something else. I have a Armalite AR, 16 inch barrel, 1 in 9 twist, with EO Tech 512.A65 Holographic sight. Like I said the accuracy, I was impressed especially with the Aguilla ammo. All the articles I had read previously said that the 40 grain bullet was the best. I beg the difference for I found all the ammo I tested worked, shot, grouped very well with no misfires or jams. My cousin was also impressed for he has the same convertion unit as I have, he also had great experience.CheaperThanDirt yuo have a winner here and I guess I'll be shooting more 22's than the 223 round."

"Instead of purchasing a 10/22 and dressing it up like an AR, I decided to go this route. Glad I did! Now I can focus on one rifle AND afford to shoot it. I thoroughly lubed the new bolt assembly before using and experienced no problems on install and removal. Always keep your rifle clean and clean / brush the bore between conversions, just common sense. Enjoy!"

"I bought one of these kits about two months ago. It functions reasonably well but I notice that if I don't take it out every 20-30 rounds and run a brush through the \"barrel\" portion of the unit, it becomes lined with lead. The first time I pulled out a thin cylinder of lead a few thousandths thick caked around the bristles of the brush. When that happens, bullets can go anywhere. I can't hit a target of several feet square at 25 yards.I have tried all sort of ammo, but I have settled on the Mini-Mag 40 gr. rounds. They seem to feed the best. I did have some feed problems early on, but those seem to have subsided. Every 2 or 3 mags I pull out the unit to clean it. It's no problem to do this, but I wasn't really expecting it. I have not read anything like this before. I use the kit on two new RRA LAR-15's, not it's not being used on an obscure platform. It is great to be able to take kids and their friends shooting with a real AR, and not worry about the cost (and availability) of 223. 22LR is as close to free as you can find in the shooting world."

"bought this product as a cheaper way to shoot my new ar-15. only had it out to the range one time. worked great didn't have any feed issues or firing problems. only thing that i noticed was the part that goes down into the chamber doesn't seal. not sure if that is from the chamber or if it's gas blowing down into the chamber from the gas return system. so my chamber was a mess. but no issues with the product. oh the rounds would impact a little low from where the 223 would but i expected that."

"I'm shooting a bull Barrel DMPS (1 in 9 twist). Off a bench with a 6X24 BalVar scope, using 60 grain Aquilla Sniper ammo, my gun groups 1/2 inch at 50 yards...that means you can hit a quarter every time. The ammo shoots dirty but I always clean my rifle after each range time. Ciener recomends that you don't take the unit apart, but I have found that it is easy to tease the unit apart with a small screwdriver, making it much easier to clean well. The unit when new, needs to be cleaned...really cleaned, as it has a rust preventative coating it and will cause jams and perhaps sticking in your chamber. Me? I'm gonna stock up on 60 Grain Aquilla ammo."

"i just got the kit on thursday and i have already shot close to 500 rounds of remington bulk ammo thru it and it works great. i did have a few fail to eject after being shot but you can expect that when shooting a 22. accuracy from my bushmaster m4 11.5\" barrel wit 5.5\" flashhider and 1:9 twist was pretty good with peep sights and within 1/2 inch at 30yds without a bench. buy the conversion and stock up on 22s u will not be sorry"

"Shoots all sonic ammo without a problem! Depending on the brand of ammo, some produce more crude than others and I recommend cleaning the rifle after 50 rounds to prevent residue from interfering with this units action. My kids love my AR and this is the only way to afford to feed their shooting habit. Have put over 2000 rounds thru this conversion unit and it continues to function flawlessly with sonic rimfire but subsonic sniper ammo will on occasion produce a stovepipe. Definitely an added value and a \"must have\" accessory."

"I have to admit i was pretty surprised with the conversion kit from CheaperThanDirt.com. At first, like others have said, you need to wear the conversion kit in with about 500 rounds. After that your rifle and the .22 bolt will function flawlessly. In the beginning you will have a lot of feed problems until this wear period is over. GL all the accuracy on this thing is amazing at 50 yards in a 3 second dump."

"This product is simply awesome. i have owned several .22 caliber firearms over my lifetime and this kit along with my rock river arms m-4 is the only .22LR to NEVER JAM!!! i put 200 rounds through my m-4 without one single jam, stove pipe, miss feed, or any other problem. it worked the way a gun should. perfect! i was extremely skeptical about buying this product, thinking about my past experiences with .22 cal fireamrs. every single one of them had serious issues. and would firing a .22LR round damage my expensive rifle in any way. well, it didnt. it was easy to change from my .223 bolt, to the .22LR bolt. it only took about 30 sec for me, and i was kinda slow at it. make sure to thouroghly lubricate the bolt upon changing it, and use high velocity or better ammo. i was using Winchester super X, 37 grn high velocity plated hollow point. and that stuff worked perfectly. if your looking for a cheap way to shoot your ar-15 platform rile, get this kit."

"This is a great money saver, and good for weapons handling training. It's nice to shoot on handgun ranges! However, be sure to use only quality copper plated 22LR ammunition. I removed a gas system recently on an M4 that had 300 rounds run through it with one of these systems. I had to remove the front sight, gas tube, and disassemble the gas tube from the sight. There was enough lead jammed into the system, that the lead had to be drilled out of the gas tube opening to clear it. The owner said that he had fired about 250 rounds of Thunderbolt lead 22Lr's through the rifle. After reinstalling everything, I took it out and shot 200 rounds of CCI copper-plated 22LRs and inspected it again. There was no build up at all. So these are great kits, just make sure to use copper plated ammo only!"

"This worked perfectly on a Bushmaster CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) AR15 rifle.I made sure to oil the chamber were this is installed, due to general reviewer comments on these conversion kits, though the instructions did not mention this as necessary.I shot about 35 rounds, remington copper covered hollow point. They all chambered, fired, and the brass extracted. No hangups or jams.Firearms enthusiasts that I associate with claimed that these conversions kits did not work well, and that I would have been better off buying a full .22 AR15 upper. The problem with buying a full upper, in addition to the $400 and up cost, was that the CMP rifle is set to be competition grade heavy. To put a smaller lighter upper on this would cause the rifle to have a different weight and feel. This conversion kit was a good choice to shoot .22 rounds and still have it be the 'same' rifle. The only negatives with this were that:1. The instructions were lacking. An online youtube video I happened to find and watch in advance made it much more clear on how this should be installed.2. The plastic case that the conversion kit came in was cracked, with a couple of pieces of this haven fallen off. The kit itself did not seem to be damaged, though."

"I dont know what that other comment is about. Anyways, I love this kit. I've fired about 800 round through it with minimal FTE or FTF. It didn't work to well with Olympic arms Lots of FTE and FTE (eject) maybe because it uses a S&W mag. It works great with Bushmaster (not one issue w/200 rds) and Rock river arms. "Every AR-15 plinker needs this! Got it on Monday, and shot enough ammo through it by Friday to pay for it. Heard good and bad on the internet, but installed 30 seconds as promised, and performed flawlessly, not 1 jam in 1000+ rounds. Holds a 2\" pattern @ 100yds, with a slight drop vs. .223, but great for target practice or varmints. Like everyone says, the 10 round clip included s*cks, just get Black Dog 26 rounder. Get a lot of them because you will love blasting off rounds, they are almost free!! Bonus=no earplugs!! Like having 2 guns because in 30 seconds you are back to .223. Should have bought this sooner, and would have saved a lot of money sighting in and shooting cans. If you are thinking about this, just get it, and you will not be disappointed!"

"Although the overall quality of materials seems good, I'm not real happy with the quality control. The end of the bolt that goes in the chamber had a slight dent in it. I was able to roll a steel cleaning rod around the inner surface to straighten it back out. Fitment: the outer diameter of the chamber portion was too big. The whole assembly would not fully seat in the chamber. After roughly an hour of sanding with some aluminum oxide sandpaper (used for cleaning copper pipe before sweating) it finally dropped in and fully seated. After that, the \"30 seconds\" is achievable. I have a Bushmaster M4 carbine that's only a year old, and very well maintained. I have yet to fire it with the conversion, and I'm hoping that it will perform in that aspect as expected. Id like to give it more, but after reading ALL of the reviews, I was a little disappointed."

"Fired 300 Plus rounds through it today no (0) issues. My AR is zeroed at 100 Yards with .223 56 Grain, the 22LR rounds were about 3 to 4 inches low at 100 Yards. Using Mil dots (3rd dot up) it was right on at 100 without changing my zero, at 50 Yards 22Lr rounds were close to right on the cross hairs and was able to hold 1 inch groups at 50 consistently. At 25 yards using Mil Dots (3rd dot down) I was able to put the rounds anywhere I wanted, and had dime sized groups of three. I did oil the unit liberally and switched back and fourth between .223 rounds and 22lr rounds often. The 10 round magazine worked great and the 25 round magazine I purchased worked without issue. I recommend this to anyone who would like fire their AR more often without having to think about your bank account every time you pull the trigger. (Also it is a ton of fun to print targets you find online and shoot multiple 1 inch dots at 50 yards with a time limit)"

"I have some info on a modification that I had to do in order to get the \"kit to fit\". My charging handle had some extra meat at the front in the form of a 45 degree angle (near where the hole for the gas tube is drilled) and the bolt would bind about 3/4's of the away home. I relieved the metal to a 90 degree angle and it works fine. No fault of CTD and the service from them was great."

"I've got to say, first, that this thing is fun! I like shooting ARs, but at it's not real cheap. However, shooting an AR at the same price as a box of 20 for a box of 550, I'd say that's in my budget. The only thing I don't like is the magazine capacity, but in my state, 10 is the limit. I would like to see the mag at the same mass as a 10rd .223 mag. Grabbing onto the tiny stub of a mag is a little akward. Shooting it is cool, and with no ear protection is no problem. You can shoot this for hours with no problems either, except for the occasional misfeed, just drop the mag, open the bolt and dump out the misfed round. If it's not damaged, try again. This this has already paid for itself in a day. Did I mention I had fun? Thanks Cheaper than Dirt."

"I recently put together my first AR-15 build and had a blast doing so in the process! So I always spend countless hours at extra accesories and other add ons for my new toy and I came across this kit... I get very trigger happy and it's very easy to blow over $100 bucks in .223/556 ammo... Sometimes sighting in a new scope can also consume plenty of ammo... With this kit I blew a brick w/o really putting a dent in my wallet! Sighted in my scope at 25 yards quickly and the minimal recoil helps get it done a lot quicker! I read some reviews where the kit got jammed in the upper and couldn't be extracted... In my case the same day I got it I tried installing it and it got jammed in there even though I lubed it up... Takes a little muscle to get out but no damage... After taking it out to the range after two clips the kit worked flawlessly and was easyer to take out of my upper... Maybe just needs to be broken in? Finally the magazine... It's awful! It's made of steel and and looks real cheap, nothing cool about it... I had to slap it in the magazine well hard just to make sure it stays because it will fall off if it doesnt snap in right... I highly recoment the mad dog brand magazines they look nice and work flawlessly! Overall I give this 4 bullets out of 5... The magazine cost it the extra bullet its that bad..."

"this kit sure is fun but 22 lr ammo in a ar it does get dirty in the action. you must clean after use. this kit does give me stove pipes occasionally in all brands. cci mini mags work the best and seem to be cleaner than the rest of the 22 ammo. the worst is the remington golden bullet i have alot of ftf and fte and they are the dirtiest. shooting 22 ammo is just as fun as shooting 223 ammo. it works great in my colt le carbine with a 1:7 twist, it is very accurate with the short barrel and twist rate."

"I bought a kit like everybody else,to save some money while shooting more than i could otherwise. When i first installed the kit i had nothing but jams and mis-feeds. I took it home, took it apart and stoned all the sliding surfaces and oiled it up real good. Much more than i would every lube the standard AR parts. The gun cycled MUCH better but still had lots of mis-feeds. I bought a couple of mags from Black Dog and everything works great. The feeding issue was primarily the 10 round mag that comes with the kit. The quality of the mag that ships with the kit is crap. Be warned, if you buy this conversion kit you are going to need to purchase some mags to go with it. To make matters worse, the satisfaction guaranteed thing is a hoax. The web site sucks and they don't answer the phone. If i'd have know then what i know now i would have bought another brand."

"i've been informed that quality ammo is mandatory...I used fmj CCI's. zero 556 and cci's are 2 inhes low at 50yrds. The 10 round mag needs altering to perform at all. I had jams for every round, but since i bought a blackdog mag at the same time i came out 25$ cheaper for the same kit as a blackdog. BUT!!!!, the recoil/buffer tube along the top had to be relieved 1/4 inch. it has a relief on the back/top so that the tube doesn't contact the charge handle inside the gun, but as it came to me this one needed more. my charge handle would pop back on every shot and it did damage it a little and caused misfeeds. A little TLC fixed the handle and a file took a couple minutes to fix the recoil tube.... it now works great. 500rds very little oil needed, very little carbon, fires quickly and is perfect for training. even with the mods needed i will give 4 stars because its cheaper and can work flawlessly."

I did oil the unit up real good & left in a plastic bag for a couple of days. Don't waste your time with the 10 round clip, it's worthless, I threw it away, but I ordered 2 of the Blackdog 25 round clips & they fed flawless. This is a great deal for the price!"

"Bought this kit on Monday, not knowing it was on back order, and still received it by Thursday. Fast shipping and easy to track via confirmation email from CTD. Got the kit home and placed it in a zip lock bag with oil in it. Ran 200 rds of CCI 40 gr mini mags thru it without a problem. Awesome kit and fun to shoot. If you own a AR you gotta buy one. Allows you to shoot the rifle like it is ment to be shot without spending $100 everytime at the range."

"After thinning my wallet from all the .223/5.56 ammo I was buying, I took the plunge on the conversion kit. I also got the 50 round drum (highly recommended). Couldn't be easier to assemble--just oil it up, remove your 5.56 bolt, and slide this baby in its place.Spent $16 on 500 .22 rounds and had an afternoon of plinking fun. Looking forward to many more similar cost-friendly afternoons. Arrived very quickly after ordering. Buy this kit!!!"

"I received this conversion kit in 4 days from CTD (one was Sunday great shipping ). 400 rounds of Federal 36 grain and not one hick up !I wiped it down good and oiled over night ,slipped it in and started sighting and saving money.Really, it works great and you cant pass up the price for what you will save in 223/556 ammo .I highly recommend this for your AR-15 (bushmaster)."

"Took 5 days to arrive. Upon inspection, the end mouth of it was dented in, as if someone dropped or banged it on a hard surface, rendering it useless and dangerous to operate. Currently having to send it back which is a hassle. After reading several posts in which others recieved defective/damaged conversion kits, I HOPE that CTD investigates WHY this problem keeps cropping up! The magazine that comes with it isn't worth a penny in quality. One look at it and you can see that it's pure scrap junk. Why keep producing sub-par materials when it's easier to create quality products and retain customer satisfaction?"

"I've put close to 1000 rounds of Federal and Remington bulk ammo through this kit without one single problem. There wasn't any need for modifications to my DPMS upper for this to work. Literally just dropped it in and started shooting. This thing works so well I'm going to sell my Ruger 10/22. I use two of the 25 round magazines made by BlackDog, and they too perform great too."

"Easy install after a good oil up...(M&P15) First 5 rounds..nothing.?. Removed and reinstalled. Let the fun begin. Had a few mis feeds for the first 400 rounds. Shot nothing but CCI mini mags. Easy to install, clean, and it's fun in an indoor range. Use 2x42 Truglo for .22 plinking indoor/outdoor to 50 yards. Fun and cheap to shoot lots of rounds. Must get for your AR."

"I purchased this recently to use in my Bushmaster A2 16\" and it works great with the Black Dog Machine 26 round mags. I've shot over a hundred rounds of CCI and another hundred or more of the Winchester Dynapoint 22LR with no problems. It is very fun to shoot and worth every penny considering the cost of full .223 ammo. Based on the previous comments, I haven't even tried the mag that comes with the kit, I went straight to the Black Dog mags and couldn't be happier."

"First thank's to CTD for the fast delivery. I never encountered any problems as some posters have stated. I soaked the bolt for 3 day and then tested it with new black dog mags without any problems whatsoever. I had so much fun I shot up 350 rounds 40gr Winchester .22LR without any problems and attracted some AR shooters to this kit. It's so much fun I had to ignore the 1 rd per second shot rule and cleared 10 and 26rd mags in a matter of seconds with 50yrd 9 and 10 ring iron sight shots on a knock off upper. These are very accurate kits atleast in my case."

"I bought the Ciener conversion kit to use in my AR15 to shoot targets in timed events. After several months of frustration with low shooting scores, I discovered that it was the Ciener device that was causing the low scores, not my inability to shoot accurately. I sent the kit back to the manufacturer for warranty service, but the manufacturer was uncooperative and refused to even look at the device until I paid what I considered to be in exorbitant fee. The bottom line, if you are shooting at targets smaller than a beer can and expect to get good support from the manufacturer, don't by the Ciener Kit."

"Bought this item a few weeks ago for my DS Arms AR-15. Was excited to get to the range and try it out ASAP. When trying it out I had a lot of failure to ejects (every shot) Over time it happened less, but still did it every other shot. But then I forked out the money plus shipping and got me a blackdog magazine and my kit now works like a charm. Put 500 rounds through it the other day with only one FTE. The magazine that comes with the kit works like how it looks... S@*%$y! Just save some time and buy the blackdog magazine it looks much better in the rifle anyways."

"I used this for my bushmaster. I give it 3 bullets as there was failure to feed during the initial rounds fired. Then we found out after inspecting the mag that it needs to be filed down. Also once in a while after 15-25 rounds, it jams."

"This is awesome. I ordered it, and was a bit skeptical at first. If you purchase this put some WD-40 or gun oil on it BEFORE installing. I think it makes a big difference with fail feeds & stove-piping. Ran 300+ rounds through it first day with VERY limited issues. Shot bulk .22 ammo (Winchester, Federal, & some JUNK round). Also shot CCI. They did fine first day, but 2nd day the CCI was not feeding properly. I didn't lube/clean it after day 1. Win & Fed shot great still though, which was a plus. Already 600-700+ rounds shot down range in 2 days. DON'T USE the mag provided. Only reason for 4 stars. Must buy something like the Black Dog (MAG-081). Shooting shotgun wad/plastic piece from about 30 yards with an EOTech holographic. FUN FUN FUN, and cheap. A must buy for someone who doesn't want to spend $100's per weekend to shoot his/her AR.Pros- Cost of product for what it doesCost of ammoFun to shootNeighbors don't come investigating Con- MAGAZINE is garbage. Looks like it would do damage to the lower or something... remove the magazine and sell it cheaper CTD & Ciener.First purchase from CTD & many MANY more to come."

"I am totally impressed with this conversion kit. Oil it up, drop it in, and it works excellently in my Bushmaster. I guess I'm the odd guy; the stock all-metal magazine works great for me (just don't slap the magazine - ouch!) and I prefer it to the all-plastic Black Dog, which always gives a Bolt Override on the last shot of the mag. Again, I have had no problems with the stock magazine, and a failure to feed on the last shot with the Black Dog, every time. Maybe it's a fluke; I seem to be the only one who says so."

"I gave four bullets instead of five because of the magazine that came with it. Throw the magazine in the garbage! I wouldn't put that piece of crap anywhere near my rifle! Anyway, I got my kit and soaked it in oil in a plastic bag for two days. I took it out shooting with the \"black dog\" magazine that I bought with it, and it worked absolutly perfectly! shot 300 rounds through it with no misfires. Definitly worth the money, this is going to save me a ton in ammo costs!!"

"This conversion kit is awesome, a must have for all AR owners. I've put over 700 rounds through mine and have had zero problems with it. One thing to bear in mind though is that you need to use high velocity ammunition. The instructions themselves say you need high velocity ammo, otherwise there will be feed and extraction problems. With HV ammo though, you won't have a single problem. Even rapid fire won't cause feed or extraction problems with HV ammo. Also...despite what others are saying here, give the 10 round magazine it comes with a try at the very least. I used mine and it functioned flawlessly."

"I read the reviews and had mixed feelings about dumping $150 into a conversion kit that might not work with my gun. I took the plunge and it works extremely good. I soaked it in oil for a day..however I think just dipping it would have worked. It did fte and jammed a couple times but it was only because it needed a small amount of oil (couple drops every 150 rounds or so). I've ran over 500 through my DPMS no problems (other than a couple fte) however I do recommend buying the black dog mags 25 shots > 10 shots all day. I shot slow and did mag dumps. I'm loving this conversion and if you're afraid of buying don't be it's awesome!!"

"Got one of these for some cheap shooting through my Bushmaster. Works like a champ. Shoots 3-4\" groups with CCI 36 grain HP rounds, 3-4\" lower than standard .223 rounds at 100 yards. I've never used the mag that comes with the kit and have only used the Blackdog MAG-081 based on others' comments when I bought the conversion kit. I've put over 500 rounds through it with no issues. "Went to the range to test it out. WOW. Worked perfectly with my M&P15 Sport! Before going to the range, I did clean it up a bit and made sure it was oiled and everything. I don't know why so many people say it doesn't feed well or it jams all the time. I fired 500 rounds out of mine and had not one problem. I bought three Black Dog 26 round mags from CTD and those are awesome too. Fun to shoot and inexpensive to go have fun for a couple hours. All I've got to say to the people who have problems with this: CLEAN YOUR GUN!"

"I installed the conversion kit this past weekend and it worked like a champ right out of the box. I had three inch groups at 100 yards at an outdoor range on an extremely windy day. I went through at least 200 rounds and only had a couple of jams, but after some oil, I was back to pumping out rounds. I was using some standard .22 rounds but on the advice of other reviewers, I'm going to pick up some CCI and higher velocity rounds. Some of the best money I've ever spent - definitely more bang for the buck."

"I bought one of these 3-4 weeks ago and have had it at the range five times. I have shot over 800 rnds with this conversion kit and it is working just fine. The first time to the range, it had three FTE but now that it is broken in, it has had no issues. 5-10 rnds of .223 to clean out the AR's gas tube at the end of my range visit and a thorough cleaning back at the house keeps it working just fine. I think it was a good buy and is well on its way to paying for itself. I only gave it 4 bullets due to the fact that the mag it comes with holds only 10 rnds."

"Once I fixed the issues with this conversion, it worked great. First problem is it binds in the barrel. Had to emery it a bit to make it fit. Second issue was the recoil spring would tweak when it was compressed. I added a small washer to keep the spring face flush. After that, Fantastic! No fails through 500 rounds."

"Before I installed it, I oiled it all up to ensure proper operation in my M4. The first 2 mags, the carbine was firing 2 round bursts! After the 2nd mag it was firing semi-auto like it's suppose to. Great product once it gets fitted in. Best .22 conversation kit I've ever tried. I recommend this to everyone."

"Well for starters I got my RRA lar-15 for fathers day, you know you have a good wife when she buys you toys like this for fathers day. I loved shooting it for 20 mintues due to the high cost of ammo. When I came across this, I thought it was too good to be true. I was a little worried about this kit so I did some research on the company that makes these and they are hand made in Florida and tested before they leave the factory. That is if you buy from them with CTD. I dont konw if they test or not. I was able to install at the range under 60 seconds and shot the same grouping as the .223 and 5.56 ammo at 100m. Not a bad idea to spray some CLP before installing. I have had this conversion kit for three weeks now and put 2,500 rounds though it. My only regret is that I didnt buy bigger mags for it. It comes with a 10 round mag and I go through them way too quickly!!!! Great buy!!!! Great item!!!!!!"

"Excellent product. Have only had it for one week but already put 400 rounds through it. Have only had 2 failures (fail to eject) while using Winchester bulk pack. Federal bulk pack worked fine every time. It's the best deal on California compliant .22 conversion kits (10 round magazine limit). CMMG's California compliant version is basically the same thing but costs more. The only downside is that the mag it comes with looks funny. I'd recommend getting some black dog magazines for aesthetics but also because their followers extend beyond the feed lips giving you a \"last shot hold open\" effect. (Helps keep you from accidentally firing on an empty chamber). They work and are only a little over $10 shipped."

"Gun: S&W M&P15 Sport. .22 rounds shot: over 1000. Initial impression: lots of jams. My wife and I became quickly skilled at dealing with various jams. Only sort of fun at this point. Finally, I got sick of this and did some Google work and learned that the top of the Ciener mag can contact the bottom of the bolt. Did some filing on the top of the back side of the feed lips (follow me?) and now the kit runs 100%. Can't get it to jam, no matter how fast the trigger is pulled. I shoot CCI Mini Mags, Winchester M-22, and Federal Bulk pack without any issues."

"Came in yesterday. Out of the package and into the AR. Stepped into the back yard and unloaded 50 downrange without a glitch. "I have had this kit a couple of weeks now and have put 300 rounds through it in my cheap AR. I used bulk 38 grain remington ammo and had one stovepipe. I would recommend this kit to anyone as it has ran like a champ. The only problem came on the first few times of putting a round in the chamber. The bolt would stick back on the spring and would take a tap to jar it free. In the last 250 rounds I haven't had any issues. If you clean your rifle this will work good for you."

"This is my second Ciener 22lr conversion kit for my AR 15's. the first one I bought about 12yrs ago and have put in excess of 15,000 rounds through it, & I'm on my second firing pin which is to be expected with any of the conversion kits & it still works perfect 99% of the time. The quality is great and it's a very reliable kit with federal bulk pack. I look forward to putting 1,000's of rounds through this new kit! The fit and function have been great with black dog 25rd mags and Ciener 30rd metal mags. CTD's shipping is very fast , hell I think I received it the next day after ordering it! "Worked very well, but as others have noted, need to lube up a little for use. Installed on a Sig 516 upper (gas piston). Need to make sure and polish up the top piece on this unit such that it does not contact the piston tube (minor grinding). Then it cycles perfectly, even with sub-sonic ammo. No need to remove the piston tube, as some have suggested to get to work, just take care of the top end."

"I used this conversion kit for the first time and it was just awsome. Put a few drops of oil on it and dropped it in my preban Colt AR-15. Never missed a shot or jammed a round using the supplied 10 round magazine. I was using Remington Golden Bullets, 36 grain, 22 LR Ammo. Shooting at 25 ft. I shot 5 rounds with in a 1 1/4\" group with open sites. I also purchased a Black Dog Machine MAG-981, 26 round magazine and it worked with this conversion kit. "Ordered one of these for my Sig M400, had to go with the 10 round magazine because my state, Colorado, got stupid last year. As with all CTD orders arrived fast and in good condition. Easy to install, put a little oil on it as was recommended in other reviews on this page, took it to the range today and it was perfect. Ran 200 rounds of CCI Min Mags through it without a single problem. My only regret is that I did not take another 100 rounds as I was having fun with it. Was off hand shooting at paper and cans at 50 to 100 feet. Bit of a pain with only a 10 round magazine, but that's not the products fault. Figure I \"saved\" about $80 in ammo cost using .22 versus 5.56 in just one trip to the range. Did not notice any changes in accuracy at the distances I was shooting. Great product and it has a well made solid feel to it and the magazine loads and fits easily."
