When you need hard hitting cartridge for your 8mm Mauser, then you need the Remington 8mm Mauser Remington Core-Lokt Soft Point Bullet 170 Grain round. The Core-Lokt bullet design is the original controlled expansion bullet, and one of the most effective ever developed. Its progressively tapered copper jacket is locked to a solid lead core, promoting perfectly controlled expansion and high weight retention for absolutely dependable on game results. The soft point shape provides broad frontal area for high energy impact and rapid expansion. "I was over at the shooting range in the past week and decided to whip out my yugo. This ammo is VERY loud! Men please dont break your kids eardrums out with this stuff. Also dont let anyone with a dinky shoulder shoot this stuff. Little Jonny will be ballin it hurts so bad.I was able to get 1'' groups with this stuff from 100yrds. Pretty good. A little pricy."

"good ammo. had a slight problem with my 1942 k98 but i think it was the bolt on the weapon."

"Fired off a couple boxes of this ammo, and will say that it fires very well and accurately. Though that could just be the rifle. Didn't have any issues with duds or such. Only downside to the ammo is it's a SP and such dirties the barrel easier than other ammo."

"For some reason, this is the only factory load readily available in my area. I've shot this almost exclusively through my Yugo M48 and while it's fun to shoot, the accuracy is unacceptable. I know factory loads are middle of the road in terms of their specs, but I've found that my rifle has a long lead and these rounds are seated too deeply and are tumbling too much before they even reach the rifling. But, I shoot them, collect the spent brass and use them for my MUCH more accurate handloads. Problem solved! If you're shooting a surplus Mauser, beware the chamber slop these bullets may have."

"Remington needs to revamp their quality control on the manufacturing of these rounds. I put these through my chrony and there was no consistency. The velocity varied by nearly 500 fps throughout my measuring!! Two of the rounds in each box had the bullet seated almost 3/8\" deeper than the rest of the bullets. This has the potential to generate significantly more pressure. The round nose also does not feed well into a Yugo Mauser and continuously jammed unless the action was operated very, very quickly. Find something else to shoot."

"I was VERY impressed at how powerful this round is! It can easily take down most things that move with 3 rounds and some good marksmanship! I will most certainly purchase again."

"Seemed to shoot accurately and consistently, but were fairly low power. Definitely not loaded to the round's full potential, but would serve just fine as a hunting round for medium sized game."
