Winchester Supreme Centerfire Rifle Ammunition stands as the most technologically advanced line of centerfire rifle ammunition in history - a history 127 years in the making. In 1873, less than a decade after the Civil War and when Westward expansion was in full gallop, Winchester introduced the first successful centerfire cartridge: the .44 WCF (.44-40). Designed for double duty in both rifles and handguns, this is the cartridge that won the west. And to hunters and sportsmen wanting the ultimate ammunition for any big-game need, Winchester has been delivering ever since.

"I first bought these rounds to go deer hunting with my Mosin. They were accurate and reasonably priced, so I decided to buy another box. Unfortunately, they were sold out, so I bought the rounds by Sellier & Bellot. Low and behold, after looking at both ammunitions and their packaging I found the Sellier & Bellot stamp on the plastic round holder for the Winchester Ammo. If it was not for that little stamp I would not know to save a few dollars and just buy directly from Sellier & Bellot. Either way, the ammunition shoots beautifully."

"Winchester sometimes gets overbooked on this ammo so S&B takes up their slack...however....don't be duped into calling Winchester rounds the same....let me explain: Winchester uses a 180 gr. Soft Point with a muzzle velocity of 2564 or soin this round with a good powder! Gun will clean up easier!S&B uses a 203 gr. Soft Point with AWWW! SO SO POWDER :( that sends this round out at about or between 2390 to 2460 (somewhere around there) fps and Gun gets dirty FAST! Don't get me wrong S&B makes a decent round but if I Had to buy Dependable round I get Winchester...However IF! you don't mind a little dirty and want speed then I suggest Bernaul made by Prvi Partisan also calledHOTSHOT or WOLF GOLD because they Have Awesome Performance downrange as well as decent weight retention. I killed a buck with my 1964 Romanian PSL (Romak 3) at 600 yards in a 15-20 mile crosswindwith a PSOP 8x42 1000yard range reticle russian scope and dropped the sucker where he stood. Anyhow if the plastic rack has S&B stamped on it or the bullet grain sticker says 203 gr. but the box says 180 gr. then S&B made the suckers. Winchester though has given me the best groups of 5 shots in a 1.25 inch at 100 yards out of all the ammo I have shot in soft point !!!"

"I own a Mosin Nagant M91/30 and have only shot silver bear and Winchester ammo out of it. Silver bear shoots well but has heavy recoil. Winchester shoots clean, is accurate, and has no recoil. The copper case causes no sticky bolt either. It is very good stuff but cost more than the other options. Coyotes don't stand a chance with this stuff at 15 feet."
