"This ammo shoots great out of my m-39 mosin nagant and my m-44 nagant. With my m-39 it shoots very high (it always shoots about a foot high-sights made that way) but holds a good 3 inch 5 shot group. My m-44 can put all five shots in less than 2 inches at 100 yards(sights seem to be made for this load.At 300 yards with m-44 sights set on 300 yards I can routinely hit a 5 gallon bucket.Ammo is quite dirty and stinks but I usually only shoot 40-60 rounds out of each gun before shoulder wears out. I dont like that the ammo is CORROSIVE-harder to clean, but- use windex with ammonia or 50/50 water ammonia formula .Soak bore down good (I like my windex better-heat up in microwave,works/dries better) use a copper brush(clean brush when done) 5-6 strokes then about 10 patches of windex/ammonia. Make sure you dry bore/action with dry patches then lube up with normal gun cleaner. A little work but bores stay A+. Also you can find corrosive ammo cleaner in some stores.Cheaper than dirt SHOULD sell this ,why yall dont is beyond me. One more thing. My m-39 has a rough chamber but ammo never sticks in chamber-copper brushed the h*ll out of it . If this ammo wasnt corrosive more people would buy it.If Cheaper Than Dirt sold cleaners for corrosive ammo more people would buy it."

"I bought one case to begin with, now I'm buying 3 more. It was a great experience the first time around and I am looking forward to taking more of this kind with my m-44 and several friends in to our desert range."

"Great stuff! I bought a case to save some cash because this is only a few cents a round, and it fired great out of M-38 mosin nagant. i had a problem with the shipping, but cheaper than dirt cleared it right up."

"Good ammo. My M44 likes it a lot. Better way to clean corrosive residue is to take receiver off the stock. Put about 3 gallons of hot water in a bucket with 1/4 cup of dishwashing detergent. Place muzzle in bucket and pull/push cleaning rod with a cloth up and down several times. Empty bucket place clean hot water in it and repeat process with cleaning rod with new rag. When done the barrel interior will be high and dry. Then use routine cleaning to keep barrel from rusting."

"Great buy. The Shipping was fast. The can was a bit of a pain to open but well worth the mild annoyance. My M44 loves it. This is one of the best deals on quality ammo you can find."

"Great ammo. Loads great, every one fires. Cheap price on ammo and shipping. Ordered more. Only problem is the ammo kicks my butt! Easy clean up with Windex then regular lube/swab, etc."

"basically this stuff is armor piercing ammo! My son brought over my father's day gift this past weekend. It was one of those spinning handgun targets, it is quite heavy construction with the targets being 3/8\" thick and the frame being 1/2' rod. My Son got the bright idea to shoot at it with this ammo and he hit the 1/2\" round steel frame and basically destroyed it! The steel was almost torn completely through!"

"This is the best ammo for the price. it does make your gun a little extra dirty. but, that can be because you can shoot more rounds. these bullets do in fact destroy all 3/8\" metal. we shot a .22L plinker and put holes in it clean. great ammo! great price!"

"This is solid ammo, great for playing around with. By the way, I love all the 1\" and 2\" groups talk. I like a good laugh. Everybody online shoots a 2\" inch group at 100 yards open sights. Then everybody at the range shoots 5\" to 7\" groups at the same distance. You guys on here must be sharpshooters. good JOB!!"

"My ammo came to me in just a few days, very clean, cool can opener comes with it. can is kind of hard to open. ammo shoots well 300-400 yards ( didn't have any more room to shoot). GREAT BUY!"

"This ammo comes in a tin box that can be opened with some work. They have steel tips on the rounds that will pierce most steel. Took this stuff out with my M-44 and was shooting at a mid-80's Plymouth compact car. The ammo pierced all drums and rotors, went through the engine block and crank case. I was impressed. Great value!!! My fun in the field either says a lot about this Hungarian ammo, or about the the 1980's Plymouth 4 cylinder that was easy prey for this 7.62x54 ammo."

"Ordered the ammo on a Monday and had it by Friday. Very quick shipping. Just shot the ammo over the weekend and it fed better than commercial, brass-cased ammo. The corrosive salts can be cleaned with Windex down the barrel.I like the ammo. Don't buy it! I want to buy it all for myself!"

"This a great ammo specially for M44 Russian.I shot aroun 150 rounds at one time.As I was shooting my smaller calibre rifle at the range, other people at the range with their high end, expensive rifles were showing off. Then I had to pull out my M44 Russian with these Hungarian bullets. You wont belive, everyone stopped and came to look what I was firing. Some of them who had cheeper ear muffs had to leave the range because this makes a big bang. The gun was smoking, shoulder was little sore, but the heart was HAPPY.Cleaning the gun is not a problem at all.Till now I have shot arount 300 rounds. No stuck,no miss, all BANG!!!. Just go for it."

"THIS IS A STEAL, I HAVE PURCHASED NEARLY ALL THE AMMO YOU CAN BUY FOR THESE GUNS AND THIS IS MY PREFERRED SURPLUS CHOICE. IF YOU CLEAN YOUR GUNS EVERY SO OFTEN YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE CORROSIVENESS OF THE AMMO, I HAVE PUT OVER 2,000 WITH OUT CLEANING, NOT THAT I SUGGEST THAT, BUT GREAT AMMO ALL THE WAY"

"Have shot 800 rounds of this so far with my M44 and it is my second choice for beating around the bush. But my first choice for the money is the Russian surplus and you can feel the differnce. But this ammo I give it an A-"

"I bought 880 rounds of this at a gun show 2 years ago and have only shot about 2/3 of one can. I love shooting this ammo, kicks like a mule in the M44 but I can't argue with the results, very accurate, very powerful ammunition. The loud echoing boom helps too."

"This is my second tin of Hungarian light ball ammo. I have gone through a lot of this in my 1933 91/30 with no missfires, feeds, bolt jams, or thrown rounds. It shoots consistent groups. This steel FMJ has some serious penetration, so have a good backstop. CTD delivered fast too!"

"I bummed a 60 rounds from my bros box and ill be ordering a few cans of my own now this ammo is gorgeous. This round was amazingly accurate out of my Mosin Nagaunt and packs quiet a punch so id recommend to anyone with a mosin looking for a good quality cheap round. ty to CTD for finding all the good stuff for me."

"this is pretty good ammo. so far I have shot about 1/2 of it through my M44 mosin nagant. accuracy is just what I expected for the price. as for the corrosive issue, my mosin nagant cost about $90 which is less than this can of ammo. I clean the gun regularly and don't worry about the corrosive problem."

"This ammo was shipped on time no problems. The display picture shows a silver tip round, and that's not what I got. Still, I'm only shooting up plywood and not armored cars. I've had no duds, no problems ejecting spent shells and the barrel is cleaner than my russian rounds left it after thirty round sets. I take one bullet rating off for it not being silver tip, but a solid 4 out of five is still worth the price."

"So here's the real and entire scoop on this ammo along with the same Russian surplus. I've been buying this ammo from CTD since they first offered it years ago. First off it is not an 'amazing' price like everyone says it is. Now for the good, the ammo performs like a champ out of the M-44 and is a serious steel penetrator. You can easily shoot through 1'2\" plate steel, it will virtually destroy anything reasonable it hits. It is also very accurate for the most part, a lot of that depends on your weapon of choice and its condition. Do not fire these rounds in a lot of rapid succession though, they are steel casings and will expand like a balloon and I guarantee, you will be taking your weapon to a gunsmith because you will not be able to open the bolt! Lastly if you do not get the can opener that comes with the tin, good luck getting it open! You will need a grinder or saw to get into it. Clean your weapon regularly as this stuff is corrosive. Hope this review helps other potential buyers. Happy shooting!"

"I bought a tin and have shot 100 rounds through a 91/30 Mosin and am thoroughly satisfied. No casings stuck and none misfired. I did not use a scoop but was able to hit a 6\" wide steel pipe from 100 yards many times. The rounds all passed through both sides of the thick steel. Is definetly worth the price. Think of opening the tin as a challenge."

"The only thing wrong with the Hungarian ammo is the can,I did just like someone before me use an angle grider to grind thew lip off the top of the can.The ammo I received did not have silver tips on them either.Watch out after you get the can lid ground loose it'll cut your finger to the bone/WEAR GLOVESAfter shooting 40 rounds of the surpluss ammo alittle windex down the barrell and a good brushing followed by light gun oil in the barrell and it's ready to put away or gohunting againThe 147grn slug will pick off the head of the beer bottle at 75yards so it's good straight shooting ammo"

"It's Buzz again. After shooting another 100 rounds, 50 in my 39 and 50 through my M44 I'm still surprised at the accuracy of these rounds. Out of my M44 it'll kick your head off because of the shorter barrel, but the M39 with the longer barrell I can shoot a 4 inch group at way over 100 yards with open sights. I want to mount a scope on it but I think if ya can't see it to shoot it with open iron sights you probably won't hit it anyway. The little 147 grain Hungarian shoots just fine in both of my Nagants. Be sure to oil the inside of the barrell after cleaning it with Windex or ammonia. Wiper dry and your ready to go."

"These rounds are great and very accurate. I have a 91/30 lamnite from 1937. Rounds fired great no jams at all. I hit clays at 220 yards standing. I was dead on from 150. Also made a shot from the top of a hill to a concrete target 180-200 yards away. I am blown away that ammo this old is this accurate. Great ammo!"

"Very good ammo-Yes, the M-44 does kick, wear a recoil pad and light her off. I put a scout scope on my M-44 and yes it does look odd on the range with the bayonet extended-the flash and the noise are gratifying, but best yet, after you scare the willies out of your range mates with the noise and flash, is the tight group you can do at 100 yds. The only rifle that did better out of the box was my Savage 110-C with handloads, and not better by much. Get as much as your wife will allow, work overtime and buy more-it's good ammo!"

"One of the best ammos I have shot, this ammo is BEAST. My PSL-54C was shooting a steel bell at 300 yards. First couple went through like butter. Even with iron sights the 300 yards was still no sweat. At a little over 315 yards had to do some computation to hit were I wanted to. Over all, this ammo is great, awesome for the price. I was having such a fun time until i realized I had gone through a little less than half of my \"spam can\" it in a little over an hour. I will be buying some more very soon. I highly recommend this ammo for PSL-54C owners."

"The only thing I have to complain about this ammo is that the casings aren't as good as the Russian surplus. So when I fire about 60-80 rounds of this ammo, towards the end of my shoot, the infamous sticky bolt syndrome plagues my m44. I have cleaned my bolt and receiver many times already, but it seems like the Russian Surplus is less likely to give me a sticky bolt towards the end of my shooting. Otherwise, it is good cheap ammo."

"This ammo is fantastic. I've been putting Wolf, Brown Bear, and Silver Bear through my 1940 91/30. The Hungarian ammo was incredibly accurate. At 50 yards with scope, most holes were on top of each other. Just awesome. Less luck at 100 yards (of course), but I think with a little more practice it can probably be an MOA or slightly sub-MOA load. I didn't find the Winchester 7.62x54r any more accurate, but that might be the shooter and not the ammo! Get some of this stuff, it's awesome. Oh, and CTD sent me the can opener."

"Ammo works great no misfires. I did have a couple sticky bolts, but most of the rounds shot well. They hit their targets at 100 yards. A great price and can't complain."
