Sometimes you don't get a second chance. Law enforcement personnel know that all too well. That's why Magtech developed Magtech First Defense .45 Auto. What makes Magtech First Defense different from other hollow point rounds? The answer is simple... weight retention. Magtech First Defense rounds are designed with a 100% solid copper bullet, unlike traditional hollow points that contain a lead core covered by a copper jacket. Copper jackets could tear away when fired, causing a loss of weight and a corresponding loss of power. However, Magtech First Defense solid copper bullets have no jacket to split or tear away, ensuring every round you fire meets its target with maximum impact and effectiveness. Trust the bullet that delivers deep penetration and devastating expansion... the kind that stops a threat in its tracks.

"Its to bad this is out of stock! i have test fired 40 rounds through my Sig Sauer P220 they are extremely accurate and will do the job i shot a boar id killed hunting with it quite a bit of damage and penetration. I have 8-10rd mags loaded with it for my Sig and 2-7rd mag for my Kimber Pro TLE 2. You wont find a better round i promise u that."

"I bought some of this ammo in 2006, I wish I had bought more of it."

"This is some great ammo. 100% accurate. Would use for competition/self defense. I like this ammo better than the golden saber +P which I shoot immediately following."

"Shoots accurate and was really amazed at how sweet the +P recoil felt through my 5\" Springfield 1911. I don't think the expansion on this ammo is as optimum and consistant as some of the others on the market, but good enough for me to feel comfortable with it in the nightstand. As more of a hobbyist than serious competitor, factoring in cost and the fact that I do not like the idea of running +P through a 1911, after I test fire, it will not see the range again."

"Bought these for concealed carry in my Glock G30 and Kimber Pro Carry. Problem is that I got a FTF in my Kimber and a FTE in my Glock. Never had one single FTF/FTE in either weapon before I fed them these Magtechs. I've bought a lot of Magtech range ammo in the past in a number of calibers and have never had a failure before. No problems in my Sig 220 or HK USP .45 though. Not sure if I'd bet my life on em."

"I fire these out of my Glock 30 with no problems at all. They are very accurate and consistant. I cannot get them to feed from the clip in my Taurus PT1911 though. I tried the factory clips and Chip McCormick clips. They won't feed from either one. I believe the cause is that the cavity is so large with a rather sharp edge and it catches. I carry them in my Glock always though."

"The 165 grain bullet produces less recoil than the standard 230 grain. Would be a good choice for a small, lightweight pistol. In my 4\" Kimber, they grouped well out to 20 yards, and I didn't notice any feed problems. I did notice at 20 yards, the holes in the target were not round, suggesting that the bullets were tumbling. Common problem for the wide mouth hollow point bullets. With bad aerodynamics and most of the weight in the rear of the bullet, they won't fly straight for very long. But from 0 to 10 yards, they will work just fine."
