"Tried this B-Bore ammo over the weekend & was very satisfied. Moderate recoil. This would make a fantastic hunting load for medium sized game, at short distances. Tested the ammo in several types of media. One test was to fire from a close range of about 15 feet, into several pressure treated 2x6 pine boards. Penetrated a full 6 inches of depth and well into the 7 inch range. Shot the round from my 6 inch Smith, model 29. Regarding accuracy, I then fired the ammo off a bench rest, from a distance of about 50 feet. My eyesight is not the best & thus dictates the closer range test. Groups easily averaged a nice 2 inches. I'm sure you younger folks could do even better.I would also be confident using this as a self-defense load. The late, great Mel Tappan always said that a 44 slug, weighing around 250 grains, moving at nearly 1,000 feet per second, would handle wild game, up to the size black bear, on a regular basis. I think this validates the ammo as a good defense load. Bottom line, I would definitely buy this product again."
