This Hornady ammo in .416 Rigby is a superb choice for hunters of formidable prey. It's loaded with a 400 grain Dangerous Game Expanding bullet which it fires at 2415 fps. It's an excellent round for taking down Cape buffalo, rhino, or elephant.

Hornady Dangerous Game Series ammunition is designed specifically for large game and safari hunting. Hornady InterLock and FMJ Full Metal Jacket bullets have reached legendary status among safari hunters, and we've raised the bar again with the introduction of the best large game bullets we've ever seen the DGS Dangerous Game Solid and the DGX Dangerous Game Expanding. Both bullets are made with a hard lead/antimony alloy cone, surrounded by a copper clad steel jacket. These bullets feature a flat meplat for straighter penetration and create more energy transfer than a simple round profile bullet.

"After years of wanting if finally bought myself a .416 Rigby. This ammo has been phenomenal in my CZ 550 Safari Magnum. I can honestly say that 1.25 inch groups have happened with happy regularity WITH OPEN SIGHTS at 100 yards! While my rifle may never get to Africa or ever hunt dangerous game I am sold on the DGX bullet due to the way it has performed for me on deer (I know it is overkill but I really enjoy the rifle and the round) I will be happy for many more years."
