"Brown Bear .308 145 grain is the best. I love it, my Weatherby loves it and i sighted my gun at 50 yards and i have yet to ajust my scope even at 350 yards plus. I'll never go Winchester again. Brown bear is the name of the game. I'll be purchesing more here real soon eventhough i haven't run out yet. Good Work guys. -Michael Minden,NV"

"i bought this ammo for my ptr 91 gaint waste of money. went to the shooting pit loaded up my clip went to fire first round fired then jammed in a almost stove pipe fashion where it didnt fully eject on closer inspection the entire flute of the round was frayed out as if the 145 grain explosion was too much for the casing this happened time after time intell i threw my remaining boxes of ammo into the dirt and left angryi wasted my money on this junk. also this wasnt operator error or my weapons fault i fired 20 rounds of more expensive ammo that day with no problem at all. in conclusion these rounds are poop. I was so upset i left talking about shooting the russian who made these if only i had a decent round to shoot him with."

"Brown Bear .308 functioned perfectly in my CETME rifle. I only use original CETME mags though. I cannot speak for those using HK mags. It is a little dirty but the price is right for the range!"

"I took some friends who wanted to shoot my HK-91 all pitched in on a 500 round case of this, shot it all worked fine no problems at all 30 round mag test worked fine too."

"Good ammo for the money. Worked well in my CETME. Accuracy was average. Cheaper than reloading."

"I bought about 100 rounds just to test it out.. and every round fired! It isn't by any means a \"Clean\" ammo, BUT if you're looking to stock up on your .308's, this is some of the stuff to throw into that cache'. Just remember, all you need it to do is fire every time! Don't buy ammo because you don't want to spend time cleaning your gun. All in all, 5 stars!"

"Great ammo for the price! I purchased 100 rounds of the lacquers steel case and 100 rounds of the zinc case. Very good results and it shot every time, and if you think this bullet is dirty then shooting is not for you. If you spend $76 for 20 rounds just because it shoot cleaner then guess what, you will eventually end up cleaning the rifle regardless of the price. Save money and shoot much more! I recommend it!"

"I just got done firing 200 rounds of this ammo through my rechambered M1 Garand & PTR 91. Had no problems at all. I plan on buying more."

"Been using this stuff for over a year now in my g3. Great range ammo. Fires every time. Dirty but at the price can not beat it."

"For the money, this stuff is OKAY. Just okay. You save alot, but trouble can follow. My buddy and I have Savage .308's and we took 60 rounds of this stuff to the range to try it out because it was a good price. It gave decent performance with a poor grouping at 125 yds. Poor being about 4 inches apart over a 5 shot spread. For popping AR500 steel plates at 100 or so yards it's unbeatable, you are going thru alot of ammo and this pings it almost every time. With a small margin for shooter error. One major issue with the ammo, the thick steel casing couples with the hefty coat of lacquer really made it a pain to chamber and eject these rounds with a bolt action rifle. They would often like to hang up and not come out. On one instance we had to take my buddies rifle to a local gunsmith to get it disassembled to get the casing out of the breech. Not a HUGE deal, but still quite annoying. For the money, if you are brave and lucky, this stuff is worth it. But if you want the best just for target shooting for the money, go with Winchester white box FMJ ammo. Decent price, great performance. Recommended by the gunsmith that pried the Brown Bear casing out of my friends rifle. He says \"It's a good price, and performs great, it will not mess your gun up or get stuck.\". So, having said that. This was my honest, no BS review. I give 3 bullets because of the bad/severe jamming. Rather than 4 bullets which it deserves due to the price. Overall decent ammo if you can deal with the occasional beating of the bolt handle to eject the spent casing."

"It jams in my 7600 Remington But my M1a1 \"M14\" just eats it up without any problems. I heard on the range some sporting riles do have problems with it."
4.0 5
"awesome rounds shot about 300 rounds the other day in my m1a. shot just fine except for one round great to plink some targets"
5.0 5
"I had no problems shooting through my DPMS LR-308. Pretty acurate, really dirty buy I dont mind cleaning my rifle. Cheap fun. I would recomend it to anyone."
4.0 5
"I dont know what kind of person tries to run steel case though a non-russian bolt action. It wont work well, no steel case will. Runs perfectly though my Saiga (AK) and groups 4MOA exactly like its designed to do."
3.0 5
"I bought sixty rounds of this ammo to just screw around. For that it was great. Accuracy was horrible through my saiga. With winchester or Rem. I pull a 1.5\" MOA. This stuff was all hitting three to four inches lower on the paper. But like I said if you are looking for cheap ammo to just blow off this will do."

"I purchased about 5 boxes of this ammo just to use for general target practice. The price is excellent and I found it to be reasonably accurate with 1 inch goups at 50 yards with open sights from a bench. I had no malfunctions and the powder residue was not really any more that other brands unless you go to the $20+ per box price range. Overall I rate this item very good through my M1A."
4.0 5
"I bought these just to screw around with at the range, very good for the money I shot 1/2 inch groups at 100 YDS. The steel casing had no effect on my bolt action it works fine."
5.0 5
"I picked up few boxes for my Norinco M1A (M-14). The gun loves the ammo. No jams, hang ups, or any other problems. For the money and what you want to do (plink) then it's worth it. Wouldn't recommend it for your best deer rifle but everything else it's worth it. As far as dirty, you should clean your gun everytime you use it anyway, so not a big deal. Good stuff! I plan on getting more."
5.0 5
"Ok it is dirty but you should clean clean your gun each time you use it anyway. It is fairly accurate 1 1/2\" - 2\" groups at 100 yards with no malfunction in 100 rounds. Good stuff for steel cased ammo!"
1.0 5
"I purchased 300 rnds to put through my HK91 clone. I have fired about 140 rounds and have had 5 misfires. I wouldnt have minded 1 but 5??? Also very very dirty stuff, clean your gun.. I will spend a few more bucks next time on the S&B bulk ammo! I shoot the 223 Brown Bear and although dirty, never had a problem. When it comes to cheap ammo Wolf is the best hands down!"
3.0 5
"This stuff is ok for plinking. Shot 200 Rds through my POF-308. The laquer coating stuck cases in my chamber if I shot rapidly. Had two misfires but it might be due to my match grade(not military grade) trigger."

"...I run this through a PTR91 (HK91 clone) with no problems. I've had one bad primer out of a case. Acceptable for $6.97 a box. Not the most accurate, nor the cleanest. To everyone with constant ammo problems, clean your rifles or buy a better one."
5.0 5
"This is great ammo. Purchased a case and shot all but a couple of mags. Not one malfunction. Great price as well. Shooting out of a FAL."
5.0 5
"This stuff isnt bad for the money. Pretty decent grouping at 100 yards. I shot about 1/2 to 1 inch groups with it"
5.0 5
"This ammo worked fine. Great muzzle flash. Very Cool. Shipment arrived quickly and you can't beat this price."
5.0 5
"I run this stuff through my M1A like it's going out of style. I've probably put at least 4000 rounds through it and only had 2 FTF's ever. Both failures were due to improperly deep-seated primers (firing pin couldn't reach). 2 bad ones out of 4000 comes out to be about 99.995%. I'll take that every time. The accuracy is not quite as good as top shelf stuff, but I can still empty a 20rd mag into the center of the head of a human silhouette at 150 yards with ease. Yes, it fires dirtier--clean it more!"
4.0 5
"I bought this for my PTR-91 as plinker ammo. It delivered very quickly and is a great deal. I would not consider it for a close tolerance bolt rifle but is great semi auto target ammo."
5.0 5
"Bought 180 rounds for my Century Arms Cetme. It ate the stuff up, not a single missfire, fte or ftf.Great stuff, looks like nato spec with 145 gr.great buy"
5.0 5
"Ok people, this is STEEL CASE AMMO WITH A COATING, you DO NOT SHOOT IT OUT OF YOUR BRAND NEW PRECISION HUNTING RIFLE, that is not what it is made for. I have shot it out of my Saiga .308 and it never skipped a beat, it loves it because this type of weapon is made for this type of ammo! If you are looking for target ammo for an SKS, AK, SAIGA, NATO type weapon this is the ammo for you. I would NOT shoot this type of ammo through my Savage hunting rifle, I would use brass as it was intended for! All orders I have places with CTD have shipped fast with no problems. Wish CTD had brass ammo cheaper than dirt for .308. Get some and have fun!!!!!"
5.0 5
"My M1A Scout loves this stuff. Very accurate and never a problem. Great buy."
4.0 5
"just picked up a few boxes of this. Put it through a brand new xs7. Its by no means match grade ammo but.Yes theres a but. It all shot pretty consistant with absolutally no feed or extraction issues. And was keeping within bowling pins at 200 yards . so in all an awsome deal."
4.0 5
"I ran this through my FN FAL and it did just fine. No duds, no jams and wasn't nearly as dirty as I thought it would be. Anyone who owns an auto should use this stuff to spend a day out with an itchy trigger finger. Can't beat the price for what this stuff is."
3.0 5
"I bought 200 rounds and got about 10-15 duds, no big deal. I think these smell bad shooting too, also dirtied my gun a lot. I would not reload these but I shoot a Cetme that destroys the brass any way. Cheap rounds are what you are going to get if this is your pick!!!!! I would get them again for target shooting!!!!!"
4.0 5
"I burned 400 rnds of brown bear through a CETME. Groups were about 2 MOA(as good as I can do offhand anyway!) I had absoloutly no malfunctions of any kind! It was a little dirty but thats no big deal."
5.0 5
"Good ammo for 6 dollars a box. I shot 60 rounds out of my DPMS SASS, and shot a .3 MOA group, all around sub MOA. The only problem I had was the laquer coating the bore when it heated up and it took a little work with the wire brush to get out. I also shot it out of my remington 700 and was just as consistantly accurate. I am glad I don't have to feel guilty to shoot my .308 any more."
5.0 5
"I burned through 100 rounds of this ammo the other day with my Saiga .308 and had no mis-fires or jams. This ammo performed flawlessly for just messing around at the gun range."
3.0 5
"This stuff is cheap, but dependable. I've had no misfires, or jams, but the ammo shoots as dirty as I've seen. I purchased a bunch for a M1A Socom 16, and I'm not running any more through it. No sense running cheap ammo through a 1500 dollar rifle. 5 rounds and the chamber looked like I put 100 rounds through it. Steel casing is hard on parts. Great ammo for the price, but I don't recommend using it in a high quality gun, or a semi automatic you care about."
5.0 5
"You'll get people telling you that \"Brown Bear is dirty\" and you'll hear of the evil tales about lacquer coating. Yes, you are not going to be able to get 1-MOA out of an M1 or an AR10, but if you've got a semi auto .308, this stuff is great. **Buy it cheap and stack it deep.** The lacquer coating will help prevent case corrosion, and aid in long-term storage. This is the cheapest .308 around at the moment. Never a misfire or a dented case. 5 bullets."
5.0 5
"I bought six boxes and all rounds were good except one. So good ammo for price. I will recommend to friends. Oh yeah, you will have to clean your rifle after you use this ammo."
4.0 5
"I was a bit hesitant to buy because of the negative FEEDBACK I had heard about this ammo. All I can say is if you own Saiga 308, then it will cycle perfectly and will hit your target. I dont know how it works in any other gun. I expected positive results since the ammo, and the gun are made in the same country. I frickin' love the Russians. Thanks guys, you may save America by arming us with stuff that works. It is affordable, and thanks to Cheaper Than Dirt."
5.0 5
"Shoot over 100 rounds of this ammo in my FAL. It is good stuff and I will be buying more."
5.0 5
"I have put hundreds of rounds through my M1A without a jam or misfire. It also seems to perform fine out to 200 yards."
2.0 5
"Unlike another brand of bargain-priced Russian ammo with which I was pleasantly surprised, this stuff performed about as well as you'd expect for what it costs. I admit I'm no Carlos Hathcock (USMC Expert Sniper from Vietnam War), but I can usually hold together a pretty tight group at 100yds with the open sights of my M1A. My target looked like I had been using a shotgun after trying this stuff. It seems to cycle flawlessly though."
5.0 5
"i shot these out of my howa 1500 bolt and my h&k 91 and both guns love them. have been shooting them out to 500 yrds with 2\" groups. Not one jam or miss hire will get more very soon."
4.0 5
"It's cheap,Russian, smells funny, what's not to love. Plus, you're not looking for brass. Cost less than the shady mil-surp."
5.0 5
"I have a dpms LR .308. Put a hundred rounds through it without a problem. Great for the price!"
5.0 5
"I shoot a Cetme 308. I noticed some of what I thought were duds, I kept them and put them back through. They fired like they should. I'm even starting to like the smell. I would suggest to any one who wants cheap .308 ammo, if you find a better price let me know."
4.0 5
"I bought this ammo for my Remington .308, and every shot was on. For the price cleaning my rifle is not a problem. I'll buy more soon."
4.0 5
"Good ammo. Some of it failed to fire the first time on my M1A. About 4-5 rounds out of 220. When I ejected a fail to fire I noticed that the primer was barely dented."
5.0 5
"I have bought and shoot over 500 rounds of this ammo and have had NO problems at all! It doesn't have me chasing shell casings. Plain and Simple, it is just good fun ammo and have not had any problem keeping a 3-inch pattern at 75-100 yard range. And, the price is Definitely Cheaper Than Dirt, even with shipping. I know locally it is double the price that i pay here. I just bought another 500 rounds. You cant ever have enough Ammo! Thanks"
3.0 5
"This ammo served it's purpose. I purchased it because it was cheap and I just wanted to use it to sight in and familiarize myself with my new Remington 700 VTR. Bought 5 boxes. Fired 40 of it so far with no problems, and fair accuracy for the price. True it is dirty and non reloadable, but for the money, I don't think anyone here has the right to complain lol."
5.0 5
"I have now shot over 300 rounds of Brown Bear with my Saiga 308 and have to say that this is very good ammo. I have only had 1 misfire and NO JAMS. I am getting 3\" groups at 100 yards (cold) and 4\" groups (hot.) I will be buying more! Dirty? It's so-so, but I clean after every trip anyway. Hope this helps."
5.0 5
"I ordered 13 boxes, got them for my DPMS AP4, and worked fine, no problems at at all. A little dirty and it leaves a little paint from the primer, but it's ok. I always clean my guns after a trip to the range. If anyone finds something cheaper let me know."
5.0 5
"IF YOU HAVE A PTR91 PLEASE READ;The first time I used this I had a ton of failures to extract, but I learned a thing that's unique to the HK91 and clones. Theres flutes in the chamber! They need cleaning out every once in awhile. I had totally neglected this aspect, and thought my PTR91 was a POS dud when it started turning into a bolt action with failures to extract. I took a 12. ga brass brush and the crap in there was amazing! I was about to sell off my POS ptr, but I'm so glad a 50 cent shotgun brush clears it up, and allows me to use cheap steel cased ammo again! Now my PTR is the msot relaible rifle I have with the cheapest .308 I can find! DON'T OVERLOOK CLEANING THE FLUTES!"
5.0 5
"This is fine ammo. No issues through my PTR-91. I have had zero issues with all \"Bear\" products through my Stag .223 too."
5.0 5
"Shot 200 rounds through my RRA-LAR8 had zero misfeeds. This ammo held a tight group. I would buy this ammo any day of the week. If there is one negative it is that this ammo is dirty, but if you clean your rifle this should not be a problem. Great Product!!!"
5.0 5
"Great, cheap, ammo. I fired 200 rounds through my brand new Saiga .308. Not one issue. Nice tight groups. There are some ranges that won't let you use this ammo. Just be sure that is not the case for your local range. My range doesn't care, so it's all good."
5.0 5
"Surprisingly accurate and an exceptional price."
5.0 5
"Never had a problem with this ammo ever.....for the range and having a fun day out shooting....works for what I want from it....no problem with accuracy or jamming....most jams are the fault of the user....don't mix your ammo.....if you do then you will have problems...if you are firing any surplus weapon....this will not be a problem to use..."
4.0 5
"My CETME eats this stuff like candy. Costs twice as much retail...order large & order often."
4.0 5
"Cheaper than dirt: Cheap and dirty. Good from shooting cans. No bad for practice but makes more smoke than a Baldwin locomotive."
5.0 5
"This ammo worked great in my standard M1A. Worked flawlessly. Will buy more for just shooting at the range. The only thing is that the powder smelled funny."
1.0 5
"This ammo is too cheap, if you catch my drift. I had numerous duds (about 1 in 4 cartridges), where the primer was indented and it failed to ignite. Several would not fire after multiple strikes. Primers are also far too hard (some say it is because the primers are too far deep-seated), and some times after firing the dent would not show. Some also seemed underpowered, and would not cycle the action completely.7.62 NATO and Winchester .308 worked just fine in my M1A. Try something else!"
5.0 5
"Not sure how accurate they are because I'm still learning how to master my rifle, but I've shot several hundred rounds of Brown Bear with my PTR91 and have yet to experience any problems with failure to feed or fire."
1.0 5
"JUNK! DID NOT WORK AT ALL IN MY DPMS 308. Indented the primer and thats it. Tried some of the Silver Bear and had a little better success, but still had to rehit the primer 2-3 times. Not good ammo for an AR."
4.0 5
"I've run more rounds than I can count through my trusty bolt action 308 of this stuff and I haven't had any problems with firing, extraction, or accuracy. For the price though, you can't beat this ammo."
3.0 5
"I bought 500 rounds for my JLD 308. Nothing but jams, FTFs, and stovepipes. This is very bad ammo in a semi-auto rifle."
5.0 5
"I don't get the bad reviews. I have used this ammo in over ten weapons including FNs, Springfields, Centurys, Savages and others. I have yet to have any problems. It is dirty, but so what? Clean your weapon. For the price, it is the best deal I have found. If there is something better out there I haven't found it."
5.0 5
"This stuff actually shoots pretty well. I used an Armalite AR-10 and a Savage Tactical and received 100% reliability with surprisingly good accuracy."
5.0 5
"Great stuff for the money. Clean, accurate, and reliable. No feeding issues or primer issues in my Howa .308. No trace of lacquer anywhere in the chamber or action area. Will buy more."
4.0 5
"Bought 500 rounds for my new SOCOM II based on average customer review and 60 rounds into it I'm am quite pleased. No duds. OK accuracy (all 60 rounds 10\" circle at 100 yds). 4 bullets beacause it is dirty, but as on reviewer said 'CLEAN YOUR RIFLE!' Great price, I will probably buy more."
5.0 5
"I've shot 300 rounds through my Saiga .308 and I must say I am very impressed for the price. Not the most accurate ammo past 300 yards, but it's only 145 Grain. If I had the money, I would by 10K-20K rounds of this stuff."
5.0 5
"Great cheap practice ammo! Cycles through my 91 flawlessly. Highly recommend."
4.0 5
"Fired 100 rounds of this ammo through my 91 clone. Had only one FtF. This ammo is dirty as hell, but goes *boom* when you pull the trigger and delivers reasonable accuracy inside 150 yards. Not to mention, you're going to clean your gun anyway, right? For the price and performance I have personally experienced with this ammo, I'll definitely buy it again."
5.0 5
"I\uFFFDve been using Brown Bear .308 in my Century Arms CETME Sporter for over a year now without any problems. It is fun to target shoot with and at this price, you can\uFFFDt beat it. I would definitely recommend it."
3.0 5
"Good for plinkin and a few other things. Do not try in any rifles other than AKs and maybe some old junkers. very Dirty. Not bad though. It is what it is. You get what you pay for."
4.0 5
"This is cheap ammo, but remember, clean your weapon after shooting. With this cheap ammo, you will notice immediately the excessive muzzle flash. With every shot from my M1A Socom 16, you will see lots of smoke and flash from the muzzle, but the bullet hits paper at 100 meters within a 6 inch group. Consider the 7.62x51 NATO battlepack for better plinking ammo, but this is cheap and should be reserved for cheap shooting."
1.0 5
"Fired over 200 rounds in my bolt action Savage 10. Powder charges appear inconsistent using field guesses based on years of reloading experience. No failures to fire; however, lacquer coating created feeding problems in 4 round box magazines consistently. Unacceptable groupings out of a tack driving rifle."
5.0 5
"Great price for a nice product, good plinking ammo, cycled through my CETME without any problems. Not that dirty in my opinion."
