"The 20mm M61 Vulcan Cannon Rounds are a great piece to display with the rest of my Dads Medals. He was in the Air Force, and a Wild Weasel flying in the F-105F Thunderchief. The 20mm M61 Vulcan Cannon was the only weapon besides a heat seeker to defend against the MIG-17's & MIG-19's in the skys over Viet Nam. He was an Electrionic Warfare Officer (EWO). He sat in the back seat and told the pilot when the North Vietnamese would turn on there Radar & Fire a SAM at them (surface to air missle). The Wild Weasel's first started out with the F-100F in 1965, in May of 1966 the F-105F's deployed to Korat Thialand and took over the roll of the Wild Weasel's. Over 75% of the sorties were flown in the F-105 Thunderchief, There Moto was \"First In Last Out\". They would fly in ahead of the Strike Force and play chicken with the operators of the SAM Sites, to keep them from firing at the Strike Force. After a SAM was fired, they would start down going head to head with the SAM. They would start a yo-yo manuever, going up & down untill the SAM couldn't keep turning with them, then they would turn away, point the nose of there air craft at the radar and shoot a Shrike & 2.75 rockets to distroy the radar site or VAN, then they would finish the job with 500lb. bombs. My Father was shot down by Flack and is still listed as; Missing In Action 4, Nov. 1966."

"worked as a gun plumber for 31/2 years with 1 year at danang in nam. was called a gun plumber because the gun has 6 barrels and looks like a plumbers nightmare. also worked on gun pods that hung under the plane on a bomb station. gun fired 6000 frs a minute and carried 640 rds of ammo. ammo cans weighed 96 lbs full and we had to hump them from storage pallets to the trailer we used to load planes with. i've talked to lot of grunts and they also thank me for keeping the gun on the f-4e fifing(phantoms phorever)"

"I have a polished and mounted barrel off of the M61A4 Vulcan. It was mounted in an F-15E that is stationed at Lakenheath AFB U.K. I received it when I separated from active duty. I'm trying to find a serious collector who may be interested in purchasing it for 1000$. it has a polished dummy round in the back end, and the front has a recessed cut so you can see the rifling. The particular barrel is off an aircraft with confirmed kills as well. I'm located in Washington state. Only serious inquiries please. 425-238-9516."

"Everyone needs a few of these laying around. Awesome and the blue \"dummy\" projectile is difficult to come by. I wish they had the 30MM rounds also."
