"Note:These are designed to be fired from a smoothbore, if you have a rifled bore, best results will always be from sabots. I shoot these from my Remington 1100 mag, smoothbore , 21\" barrel, with great results. The combination of the slug \"rifling\" and the attached wad do a good job of stabilizing the slug in flight and provide all the accuracy I need out to 75 yards ( 4\" groups). At 100 yards the spread is closer to 8\" in my gun with open sights. Where I hunt, most shots are under 75 yards. At 30 yards, shooting at a tree stump ( from a solid rest). I took one shot into the \"bull\". My buddy then took my gun, from the same position and literally drove the next slug through the center of the wad of the first one, both slugs melding together with both wads intact. ( I still have them, still \"together\" after splitting the stump )A freak thing to be sure, but out of the 30 slugs fired that day, every one fired at 30-50 yards went into basically one jagged hole. Took one decent buck with a Brenneke Gold 3\" at about 40 yards, quartering away. The slug entered behind the right shoulder, exited through the left, shattering the bone. Needless to say, a follow-up shot was not required to anchor the buck. Perhaps at a longer distance, enough velocity would be shed to prevent a pass-through. Bloodshot meat asside, I was very impressed with these slugs."

"these slugs are high antimony with thick \\ reverse pitch \\ non-crushing lands.... specifically made for perfect engagement with rifling lands of rifled bore barrels.... they WILL NOT crush under constriction of a choked smooth bore...heaviest weight \\ almost full .75 caliber non-sabot design \\ over 3000 ft lbs of muzzle energy \\ and more accurate than any saboted slug i have ever used for rifled bores (and i have used them all)....nothing better for sheer knock down energy... and very fairly priced too.... kudos to brenneke for a stellar product..."

"Disregard Robinhood's comment - the Brenneke website plainly states that these slugs are designed only for rifled barrels. I've had great success with in my 1187 with a rifled barrel. 3\" groups at 100 yards off a rest."

"I've shot a lot of slugs in my life and these are by far the greatest. The ballistics are amazing!"

"Actually, Robinhood is correct. These slugs are perfectly safe to fire in a smoothbore as long as you use a cylinder choke (not improved cylinder, modified, full etc.). I have fired them in my riot guns with fixed cylinder chokes and in my Stoeger sxs with screw in cylinder choke tubes. Accuracy is exceptional. These slugs are very hard and have a slightly larger diameter compared to other Brenneke slugs and are therefore unsafe when fired in choked shotguns (hence the warning). Performance on game is second to none. Full penetration is the norm even on large hogs. I have had pass thrus even at 120 yards. P.S. On the Rottweil Brenneke web page it states that the Gold Slug is safe in smoothbores with cylinder chokes. The Rottweil Brenneke gold slug was identical to the ones that are currently being sold in the U.S. You can trust my advice. I am a dedicated slug gun hunter. I own more than 15 shotguns and I have fired every slug known to man."

"These are excellent sabots for use in 100 yards range. I get about 2-4 inch 100-yard groups with these at the range. They are simply the best and least-expensive sabots. Don't waste your money on those expensive sabot slugs. These will do the job perfectly."

"Great ammo in my tactical 870 when I went piggie bust'in. Had four shots and got 4 hogs. Great hard hitting ammo and really adds a punch to the trip... I had a great time!"
