"Alright, I just got back from the shooting range. I've been looking forward to shooting these mini shells since I got them from CTD last week. I have a Remington 870 Express Mag with the stock 4+1 magazine. I got these shells to increase the number of rounds I can have in the magazine for home defense, while still having a 4 rd magazine for legal hunting. But these shells fail in all aspects, other than actually shooting. They are so small they are hard to load in the first place, and I could not get ONE to cycle into the chamber without jamming in every way possible. They are too small! I ended up shooting both boxes of 20, one by one. Along with loading one by one, you have to cycle the gun upside down the entire time until the round is in the chamber. Because of such a malfunction, these rounds are pointless. Easy, tiny kick while shooting, but that's all. Have both the slugs and buckshot, and both work the same horrible way. Don't waste your money."

"I have an Ithica Model 37 Featherweight Riot gun that is rather old. I had no problem with these rounds feeding in that gun, as long as I did not rack it too slowly. I have only fired 4 rounds (just testing to see if they would function) and did not chronograph them. My Ithica usually recoils hard, but with these shells, recoil was very mild. They did seem a bit dirty, too. At close range (home defense), these are dandy and the reduced recoil is an even better feature that increased capacity. I am also sure that you should try a box before you stock up, because not all shotguns will work with them."

"Just like the buckshot they feed great in a Win 1300 not so well in a Mos 500 or Rem 870. So if you have a Winchester 1300, I highly recommend these for home defense along with the buckshot. They increase the capacity and have less recoil and sound"

"Just left the range with my Mossberg 500. I used the mini slugs (only slugs allowed) and for single shot target practice, I thought they were great. But as home protection, they don't cycle well at all. Definite jam issues."
