"I have a WASR-10 AK-47 and I bought this scope for it. The Scope is nice and could be used for any gun with the right rails, ended up mounting the scope on an Airsoft gun. The scope's receiver cover would not fit my WASR-10. There were two rivets holding the rails onto the receiver cover that got in the way of snapping the cover in place. Disappointing. Some filing may help, I have not tried."
"I have an Egyptian Maadi AKM47. The replacement top cover fits perfectly snug without the need for the two set screws at the rear of the cover and without any rattle; there is an extension that protrudes slightly under the rear iron sight that prevents it from adusting to the point blank and 100 yard settings, however I do not foresee this as being a problem as it does not contact it at the 200+ settings. The 'see-through' mount provides a clear, unobstructed view of the iron sitghts in case the scope loses zero for whatever reason (it is after all designed as a military weapon...).The scope itself appears to be fairly rugged and of very good quality with very good clarity. I would have expected to pay at least 50% - 75%more just for the scope alone. The rings provided are stout and of surprisingly high quality with bedding pads already installed. It took me only five minutes to complete the setup on the rifle including leveling of the crosshairs. I have not fired it at the range yet and will add a review after completing the zeroing. This rifle has only had appx. 3000 rounds through it and I am able to hold a 5\"-6\" group at 100 yards with the iron sights (a better shooter might do better...); I hope to at least halve the group size with this setup, although I expect my personal shooting habits will dictate how tight I can actually get it.BOTTOM LINE - this package appears to be an exceptional value at this price!"
"This scope and reciever cover/mount are well made. I wasn't expecting the items to be of this quality for $30... although this reciver cover didn't fit my M70B1 AK, it is nothing a dremel, file, and some steel wool shouldn't be able to handle. This reciever cover was almost 1/4\" longer than the cover on my Yugo, but identical in all other aspects. I'll be busting out the dremel to fix it.All in all, a steal for $30.00"

"To Quelin and others : I bought an identical dust cover scope mount from another vendor last year for a Norinco AK and had the same \"rivets in the way\" issue . I simply used a hand file on the dust cover so it would not strike the rivets. I also had to file a bit on the very back portion. That took about 5 minutes. The difference between Cheaper than Dirt and the other outfit is that for $29 you get a scope along with the dust cover from CTD , not just a dust cover rail mount for $29. I checked that other place and they are now offering a 4x28 BEC scope with mount for $49 .If I have to use a file with either suppliers product I'll vote to keep the $20 in my pocket and get the one from CTD . I just got a WASR 10 from a gun show & looking forward to the dust cover & scope from CTD"
"I put this on my romanian AK 47. The scope is great. and the base was a good idea, buthe screws on the back that keep it from moving had to been modifed. I should have got the side scope mount. because i shoot alot and i have to clean it and i have to sight in the scope AGAIN."
"I have a Romanian AK 47 and thought this would be a nice addition. It sure was a nice suprise to get something this nice for the price paid ($40.00) delivered. The only problem with mounting the new dust cover was solved by filing the rear hole where the recoill rod/spring extends through. It took an no-gunsmithing-shooter like me to have our amorer fix it. The lock screws at the rear engage correctly without lifting the cover if it is filed down enough."

"The dust cover took a bit of filing and other work, but now it fits very snugly. It seems very sturdy- all solid aluminum for the mount base, and the dust cover metal is a bit thicker than the standard one. It also allows me to use the iron sights as advertised. The scope itself seems sturdy, and the clarity is good. Just have to see if it will hold a zero, but from early appearances it should be good.Even if the scope won't hold a zero, the dust cover mount seems worth the cash.Used on a century arms AK-47.The biggest problem was the little spot-welded on pieces of metal that made up the threading for the screws in the back. I just put the cover securely into a vise and worked a nail into the space between the dust cover and the threading. Eventually it just broke the weld and popped off. After that I unscrewed the little slab of metal on the very front (which gets in the way of the 100 meter setting) and used a grinder to take off about 1/8\" from the front of the cover. Then I had to grind out a little semi-circle for one of the rivets and it fit fine."
"I bought this based on the reviews and I gotta tell everyone something. The scope is good, especially for the price. However, the dust cover rivets are garbage. I recieved it in the mail and was excited as most so I put it on right away and went to shoot. I had it on for MAYBE 20 minutes and was ready to shoot. On the ninth shot though, the rivets holding on the scope rail gave up throwing my scope to the ground. It looked good, the scope is worth the price all by itself but I also bought the 3rd generation side mount just incase. Thankfully the scope isn't broken so I'm still good to go but don't use this as your primary mount."
"When I first got this scope/mount combo I was worried I got what I payed for. When I saw the scope I was impressed and the mount seemed better than the one that came on my AK. That is until I went out shooting the first time with it! I loaded the clip and chambered the first round. Pulled the trigger and to my surprise the scope went flying past my head only about an inch away! The scope still attached to the mount broke apart from the reciever cover that came with the mount. I tell you what, when your looking through a scope with your eye inches away, you do not want that happening! But the guys at CTD let me exchange that mount for the side mount and Im still a loyal customer.Im out a scope but that better than losing an eye!"

"Same as the first review. I own a MAK-90 and I had the scope mounted and took it to the outdoor range and the first shot, the scope popped off. It was pretty embarassing. I ended up popping out the rivets and used small bolts inserted from the inside to bolt it down. I haven't taken it to the range yet. Well see."
"Not Sure Why They Even Sell This, The Mount Popped Off After 2 Shots And Nearly Hit Me. The Scope Is An NC Star Which Im Never Impressed With There Stuff Either. Its Too Bad Theres Way Too Mutch S*** These Manufactures Make, That Dont Work, Break Easily, Have Cheap Screws..."
"Unfortunately I based my decision to buy this on older reviews, my scope flew off after 3 rounds down the chamber. I would never have made the purchase had I know that the scope was mounted to the dust cover with some sort of adhesive. Unfortunately for me I didn't even get a chance to use my gun until after the 30 days and I'm stuck with it. The scope is kinda cool, but I didn't buy this because of the scope. I am pretty disappointed. Oh and then because I had it sitting out hoping to return it, my girlfriend's stupid cat chewed up the scope lens cover."
"My brother in law bought two of these scopes and mounts. Mine had the mount broken off the cover, in the box! His separated the same way after one shot. The mount is attached to the tin cover with inadequate rivets and a little glue . What junk! Part of the chinese conspiracy."
"After reading the mixed reviews, decided to give it a try. I figured you can't go wrong for the price. But on my MAK90, the dust cover that comes with the scope couldn't be mounted, because of the two metal pieces on the inside of the cover that hold the two rear screws. Those metal pieces protuded down too much to allow closing the dust cover at the rear. Guess I'll try the filing routine suggested by some of the other reviewers. If I can get it to fit, I think it's still a good deal, although I remain concerned about several reviewers comments on rivets comng loose causing the scope to dismount."
"Exalent mount, a bit heavy but seems solid. Had to do a little mod to get it to fit. I havent got to shoot it yet but I did a rattle test and every thing was tite. Mine is riveted not glued like some clame theres to be. After I Shoot it I will give a nother review."

"THIS MOUNT IS CRAP. IT NEVER HOLDS ZERO, WAY TO SLOPPY. HOW EVER I GAVE IT 2 BULLETS BECAUSE THE SCOPE IS OK. I JUST ORDERED THE SIDE MOUNT TODAY, CANT WAIT TO SEE HOW THAT IS."
"Poor quality. On my 4th shot at the firing range, the scope and mount flew apart and landed on the ground. I'll be returning this item."
"Had to make mods as described below by other victims. does not hold zero. wish I could return it, but made the mods hoping I would make it work. scope looks good. will be looking for side mount. if you buy it, take a picture, because it sure makes the gun look bad ass, but it will be the last time you see it on your rifle after you shoot it.....do not buy."
