"This stock is the real deal, but be aware that it is NOT the kind that recesses into the receiver like the Bulgarian AKS74. It has an adapter that makes it fit a standard fixed-stock tang, so its trunnion protrudes from the rear of the receiver. I bought one and was a little disappointed to discover this."

"This style folding stock is great. It is rock solid when extended, not too heavy, and it fits away nicely when folded. This is the real deal, the extended rear block is required in order to fit normal stamped AK receivers. My only compliant is that it crowds thumb space when folded, but gloves seem to compensate for the discomfort. Also, not \"all hardware\" was included namely the \"two screws provided\" as stipulated by \"All Hardware\" and the manual, but this was most likely the fault of Cheaperthandirt.com. GREAT PRODUCT THOUGH! ONE OF THE BEST!"

"I installed the Bulgarian AK folding stock #AKS-229 on my Romanian AK SAR 1. No problems installing it. Used a soft faced mallet to tap her home and used medium strength Loctite on the two mount screws. All hardware came with the stock. Went shooting today with her and the only thing I disliked was how the metal stock absorbed the shock and when fireing it, sounded like the bolt and piston were hitting the stock block. It most definitely kicks harder than the wood stock and now sounds like a tuning fork when you squeeze a round off. I'll make a recoil pad to fit. Great stock, you just need to tune it up."

"It's not very pretty, but very functional, and it's a very heavy duty rubber and serves to dampen some of the vibrations as well."
