"I ordered a box of this ammo as soon as it became available. Let me say first that this is the same bullet as the Speer Gold Dot that I use for personal defense (along with Winchester Supreme) in my .45 Springfield XD. Those rounds are $28 for a box of 20. Nuff said about the value. I shot these rounds through my Walther PPS & my S&W Sigma series. Fed and cycled without issue. Very good groups at 7-10 yds (don't plan on gunfights farther than that) compared to Winchester Supreme PDX, and Black Hills. I am very satisfied and would use as a self defense ammunition. At this price, you can afford to practice with what you carry. Great ammo, great value."

"I ordered a box and fired ~200 rnds through 2 different guns w/ zero issues and easy clean up. No ftf, no excessive smoke. Hard to beat the price for good JHP! Will definitely get more when it's back in stock!"

"This is a BARGAIN with quality! The rounds are all clean (Spear, Winchester, Federal, etc.). I was a little concerned ordering but they are a definite great buy. Clean, feed well, perfect. Get them while they last!"

"I just received the BVAC JHP .40cal ammo. The ammo looks great and is very clean. More nickel than there are brass cases, which is fine with me. The hollow in the hollow points are pretty deep. (A side note: this ammo does not look like the ammo in the photo description, which looks exactly like Speer Gold Dots - these do not look like those. These are brass jacketed hollow points, not copper gold dot jacketed). I'm not complaining though because the price is great, just don't want anyone to think that they're getting gold dot ammo - this looks more like Remington Golden Saber). But hey for the price and quality - it's a fantastic deal and I received the ammo less than 24 hours after ordering it. Thanks CTD!"

"I shot 80 of these JHP's just now through my HI-Point Carbine .40 S&W. Most of them are Speer silver shells, with a smattering of R.P. and Winchester. Probably about 10% of them are brass shells, of same brands listed above. They fired about the same for me as my other FMJ shells, though when I alternated one magazine, my new FMJ shells seemed to have 10-20% more kick. I have no idea why. Like the other buyer mentioned, they are brass cased jackets not the thinner copper (found some of the jacket casings rattling around in my gallon water jug targets). I think they look cooler, but don't know if it matters from shooting perspective. I was just as accurate as I was with the brand new FMJ's I finished off. Now I will be shooting these exclusively. I see they went out of stock this week already. Glad I got them when I did. Maybe I will buy FMJ's in the future from BVAC if JHP's are out of stock. Thanks."

"I have ordered this ammo twice. Both orders presented some of the cleanest ammo I have bought. Downrange accuracy is superb, clean burning (Not Like Wolf!), quality is evident! No FTF's, FTE's, etc.I have shot now, 800 rounds and everything is as it should be. Recovered bullets from my pistol range, shooting into gallon jugs of water showed 4 jugs penetrated, and about 95% retention of bullet weight with excellent expansion. I shot again at the water jugs with an old GI wool blanket in front of the jugs of water (double layer of blanket, 3/8\" thick) and penetrated 3 jugs of water, about 80% expansion, 95% or better of weight retention and evidence of wool cloth in 3rd jug of water with bullet. This is my new CCW ammo! Will continue to buy from CTD regularly. (just bought my third order in 4 months!)"

"I bought this box to take on a road trip vacation to a friends where we would be doing some shooting. For a week I had been lugging this box around hearing the loose rounds kluncking around in there and being almost afraid of what I would find when I opened it. To my surprise, the rounds were shiny and clean. The loads had Speer nickle cases with what looked like gold dot hollow points. They fired great through my XD subcompact. This is a great value box and I highly recommend getting some. I will be stocking up on some more of these."

"I purchased a box and have shot over a hundred out of my XDM 40 and not a single problem loading, jamming, or not firing. Shoots great, will buy more in future for sure."

"I shot about 200 of these bad boys with my XD-40 at an indoor range a week ago and I was very satisfied with it. I had no misfires, jams, and on top of that, it was clean. I recommend it for everyone. But for those who are not from California, please don't buy yours until January when CTD will stop shipping it to us. Let the citizens of California get theirs first. =)"

"I just got a new Kel Tec Sub 2000. I ran about 100 rounds of this ammo through it and experienced no problems of any kind. Seemed accurate enough for the purpose. Good ammo, good price. I intend to buy more."

"I bought 500 rounds a couple weeks ago and thought I would try it. I have shot alot of Ultramax reloads and wanted to try something different. I finally got to the range today and these shoot perfect. They hold nice tight groups and my gun was very easy to clean afterwords. No misfires, jams or any other problem. Very impressed, these come looking great and shoot just as good. Definitely cleaner shooting ammo than Ultramax and some new factory loads. I plan on getting 1000 rounds as soon as they are back in stock. OH and FYI the 223 from the same company is just as good. BVAC just became my new \"favorite\" target ammo."

"I went out on a limb buying these and they are amazing. They go \"bang\" every time. I would trust my life with these. I never write reviews, but I had to for this. Its awesome stuff. My Glock 27 loves it."

"This batch of BVAC JHP had random brass as expected, but every one shot as hoped for out of my little Glock 27. This being my first batch (April/May 2011) of 40 cal JHP, I was happy with all 500 rounds having zero problems. I'm 100% satisfied with this batch of 40 cal JHP.I Wish I could say the same for the BVAC 9mm FMJ, I had one fat casing that jammed my gun so bad I had to the go the smithy. But the 1000 rounds of BVAC 40 cal JHP and FMJ worked flawlessly. I will be buying more of both 40 cal. Price is right!"

"I fired over 1000 rounds out of my Springfield Armory XDM during a two day Tactical Pistol Course in central Missouri over the weekend. I don't think that I had any issues with this brass. All fired and ejected perfectly. My classmates, on the other hand, had many issues. One of them was a active policeman using force issued hollow points with his XD. He had to routinely clear jams until another classmate loaned him replacement ammo. Another classmate, was firing Federal purchased from Wallyworld, could not go through a magazine with out a jam. Needless to say it made a long two days for him. I fully recommend BVAC ammo, both new and once-fired."

"I've run about 200 rounds of this ammo through my Sigma and Keltec Sub 2k... good groups, pretty clean burning, not a single failure of any kind. Great ammo. Great Price"

"Just went through my first 500 rd box of BVAC and I was pleasently surprised at how well it performed. Ran all 500 through my XD sub and my XDM and not a jam or misfire in the lot. This stuff is good for putting holes in papaer or taking down steel plates at 25 yards.Looks like its time to reorder."

"I bought the 40 hp, 9mm hp, and the 223 rounds. I have shot the 40 in my Glock 23 and the 9mm in my Ruger LC9. Not one malfunction. I looked the box over and brass seems to be all in the same good shape. No complaints."

"I just bought my first handgun, a Glock 23. I wanted to get an inexpensive ammunition for the range to get used to the gun. The product arrived a day earlier than expected and didn't require a signature to my surprise which kept me from having to drive to the shipping store since I wasn't home. I've only fired about 20 rounds through my G23 but haven't had an issue with any of them. If the whole box is this way, I will be buying a couple in the future! Great value!"

"I ordered this ammo, and was a little skeptical at first. It arrived on time, which was a good sign, and then shot well through both my Sig 239 and HK USP 40. I put 100 rounds through each without one malfunction. Great to use for target shooting."

"Have put 250 rounds of this stuff through my Walther PPS with no problems at all. Great ammo and great price! It comes loose in the box but I always take the 40 cal boxes at the range that are thrown out so its easy to box them up and store them!"

"I purchased 1000 rounds of this ammo about a month ago. I have put only 150 rounds through my Glock 22 and I have already gotten one dud round. The round seemed to be primed, but lacking powder. It was enough to jam the bullet part way into the barrel, disabling the gun completely. Not cool. Luckily it was not enough to cycle the weapon, and I did not fire another round by accident. I was able to remove it without any damage to the gun, using a punch and hammer. I am hoping that this is a 1 in a 1000 problem. If I get a second dud I would give this product one star and recommend not purchasing this ammo. I recommend this for target practice only!"

"500 rounds no misfires or malfunctions, the only complaint I've got is that only about 1 out of every 12 rounds expanded properly. I'd recommend them for target shooting any day but not much else."

"I got this for my \"just in case\" kit and I shot about 20 rounds to see how they work/feel. Everything was great, no jams or failure to fires out of my XD40. If you want to have a large amount of hollow points for cheap you can't go wrong with this. They're not the best thing you can buy for self defense but they'll get the job done."

"Just wanted to say that I was in a MP unit in the army for 4.5 yrs, and this is better quality ammunition than we were supplies with. I bought a box of this and fired a few 100 through my walther pps, and smith and wesson sigma series. No problems at all. As long as they fire every time I squeeze the trigger, I'll carry this ammo. May not have the perfect expansion or what not, but I promise it would SUCK to get shot with one of these."

"I own a Smith and Wesson M&P 40 and in one day I shot about 350 rounds of the 500 and not a single jam. I am very pleased with what I bought and I'm certain I will buy more in the near future. My only complaint is that it leaves the gun quite dirty."

"I bought this ammo a week ago to test out a few \"new\" pistols. I was pleasantly surprised after going through all 500 rounds in a few hours. Not one single misfire or jam. I used this in a FNX40 and a XD40. I can't complain about the accuracy either. Both guns printed 2-3 inch group off hand at 50 feet. There was an occasional flyer, but that's to be expected when sending that many rounds down range. By far some of the best reloads I have used. You can't go wrong with this ammo! I'll be buying more if it ever comes off of backorder."

"I bought this simply because the price was great and I wanted more brass to reload. The brass was all very clean and I didn't have one misfire or jam in my XD 40 subcompact. I'll be ordering more and different calibers as well. Thanks for the great value CTD!"

"I've gone through about 200 rounds so far and had zero problems. My poor groupings are purely shooter related. Four bullets out of 5 because about every fifth hollow point is filled with cleaning media. A toothpick quickly cleared it out, but going through 500 rounds with a toothpick takes a while! I'll buy again."

"I read the reviews and wanted some cheap ammo, which is all good. DON'T carry for personal protection. I always shoot my HP through water jugs to see how they expand to see what damage it would do if I need it to protect myself. This shoots well. No jams or anything. But when it hits water, the bullet exits the same way it went in. The HP doesn't expand at all. You might as well use flat nose bullets. I would NOT recommend for personal protection. If you want something cheap to just shoot, it will work great."

"Bought 500 rounds to practice with my Taurus PT92 and a brand new Kahr CM40. Ammo worked perfectly. Was advised not to use JHP in the new Kahr, but I did anyway, with no problems at all. Not dirty, but I clean after every range visit anyway. Only problem was that I had so much ammo, I shot until my hand ached. REAL problem.Great ammo for the price."

"This was the first ammo shot through my new G23 Gen4 and it worked well the first day out. Out of 332 rounds shot through it on day one, I had one failure to feed and a few rounds were too weak to get the slide all the way back, and it was not that my wrist was too weak. Today I brought it out and shot about 75 rounds and it was flawless. I still do not trust it enough to carry everyday, but if it was the only thing I had, I would not think twice about using it to protect my family or self."
