"Being new and uneducated into the world of in-line muzzle loading, I did some Internet research, talked to a few friends who highly recommended any CVA muzzleloader. Not sure what to expect, I did not want to spend a ton of money on an in-line not knowing what I was getting into. I purchased the CVA Wolf and a 3x9 Bushnell Banner scope. The guy at the store told me to use Triple-7 Powder (100 grains) and recommended 295-grain Hollow Point, Power Belt Bullets. After mounting and laser bore sighting the scope, I headed to the range where I had no expectations whatsoever of this gun. I set up a target at 50 yards, to see where I was hitting at, and another target at 100 yards after it was hopefully dialed in at 50 years. My goal was to keep a 6-inch group at 100 yards. My first shot, using 100 grains of Triple 7 Powder was dead center, one inch high at 50 yards. I thought it was a mistake and shot again. The shots were almost clover leafing. I cleaned the barrel (recommended for about every 2 or 3 shots for consistent accuracy) and took it out to 100 Yards. I was able to keep a sub 1-1/2 inch. 3 shot group with this little bargain in-line. At 150 yards with the above load, it shots about 3-1/2 to 4 inches low and a little right, but if its a whitetail broadside, you got it..! I have yet to use the magnum load (150 grains) in this gun, but will take it back out to the range before muzzle loading season this year and play with it to see how it shoots with this load. I shot two does with it this past deer season at about 75 and 120 yards respectively and neither deer went more than 10 yards..Long story shot, I am now a fan of the CVA Wolf. It is the same action as the higher end CVA Optima, only the Wolf has a 24 inch barrel, which does not seem to affect accuracy whatsoever. I would recommend this rifle to anyone first venturing into the world of inline muzzle loading not wanting to spend a lot of money. Good Hunting.!"
