Short Black Tanto, Serrated -
The Tanto blade shape, of Asian influence, has a thick pointed blade that\'s rugged enough for the most difficult tasks.

Fixed Blade -
A fixed blade is a solid piece of steel, anchored to the handle without any folding mechanisms. It's durable and holds up well against the elements.

1095 Steel -
This knife is easy to sharpen, plain carbon steel used in knife making. It's proven to be one of the most popular steels used in KA-BAR knives.

Tanto Blade - This knife blade was inspired by the shape of the Japanese sword blades. The point to this style blade is in line with the spine of the blade The tanto has a reinforced point which is thick and strong and is good for heavy duty stabbing cuts.

Hollow Ground -
The ground surface of the blade is concave and used to create a fine cutting edge.

Kraton G Thermoplastic Elastomer -
Referred to simply as Kraton, is a man made material resembling rubber that can be molded into knife handles. Knife provides a non slip grip.

"i have been all over the USA and canada with this knife.i am an amateur archeologist, used this knife in all types of weather and conditions for everything including prying. only had to sharpen the blade twice in four years."

"I'm pleased with this knife. Not quite as big as I would like, but I thought the 8\" would be a little overkill. The grip is good, the balance is good, and the sheath is good. The sheath is pretty stiff out of the box, but that is typical. The edge is not razor sharp out of the box, but that is also typical. Bottom line: good all-around knife for carrying and survival, if you want to play Rambo then go for the 8-incher."
