"WIll NOT FIT GI 1911'S. The locking lugs are too long, protrude over the barrel link, and inhibit the slide stop from mating with the barrel link. You can't even put your pistol back together, it won't work! I have a genuine Colt, and if it can't fit that then screw it, don't waste your time- unless you want to grind down the lugs. Will be returning it shortly...."

"I have bought 2 of these barrels one I put in a Argentine Ballester no problems what so ever the other I put in a 1911 Argentine did have to buff the barrel with a wire wheel to get it side in the new barrel bushing other than that, no problems either , best buy on the web IMHO.NORM"

"This barrel will not fit into a Government 1911 slide with out a modification of the link lugs, they jam against the slide about halfway in."

"I bought this barrel for a 1911 frankengun with a Springfield GI slide. It didn't drop in, but let's face it, how many true drop in parts are there? I had to do some minor fitting on the locking lugs, not a big deal but something you might want a competent gunsmith to do. After fitting it, it shot great with ball ammo. The price is unbeatable and I can't complain about having to do a little work. Thank CTD!"

"I have a 1980 Mark IV Gold Cup Colt, and this did not fit at all. But I did go buy a small file and with allot of elbow greese, I matched it to my shot out barrel. It works fine now, and it's good to have new rifling in a 30 year old gun."

"I installed the barrel in a WWII 1911 in about 5 minutes and it assembled perfectly. On the range this gun now performs as good as my two year old Ruger P-90. I am glad I tried this before buying another brand for $124."

"I blew the barrel out of my Rock island by putting hand loads through the crappy cast barrel it came with. This one fits like a glove, took no machining, and so far i have no complaints. Will write back with report on accuracy at the range. 5/1/09"

"This is the first barrel that I did not have to fit. People should know that after market barrels are made to fit a lot of different makes of guns in the 1911 style. Not all are Colts, even though I own one 1991 A1 it was not a great gun. Now that it has been fitted with a new barrel and other parts it shoots great. The slide that they sell works great with this barrel."

"this barrel needed minor fitting in my Auto Ordnance government 1911, but in my American Classic 1911 it dropped right in and shot great right out of the package, therefore I took my American Classic barrel and put it in the auto ordnance(which fit fine), and put the drop in in the American classic. I have yet to do accuracy testing. Like it says right in the description may need minor fitting, no lies there for some pistols. The auto ordnance did lock into battery but there was some recoil spring binding was the only issue. For the money works great as a quick replacement."

"Recieved the barrel then checked it out with the old one. Perfect match. Just clean the hell out of it first. Fit in my \"1911 A1 Government\" like a glove. Took it to the range and put 50 rounds through it. I had 2 jams the first 10 rounds but nothing after that."

"Very good barrel at very reasonable price I guess. I just dropped it in and I never had to fit or do anything to my 1911."

"Received it today. Totally disappointed. This barrel is a TOTAL CRAP. I spent an hour cleaning the bore, it still had some rust-like materials no matter how much cleaning I did. Cheap materials were used, the bore looks like the inside of a lead pipe! The bore barely has any groove and was very rough inside, crudely manufactured."

"They said may require some fitting no problem I thought but they failed to mention that the chamber is only half bored a 45 round only goes half way in to the chamber. lol some filing is one thing but this is a paper weight unless I neck down some 45's and reload a 45 ACP short wild cat, on top of that no returns. So think twice before you get burned buying one of these barrels the price is tempting but spend the extra money and get something that is what you can use/want and is returnable. Last time I buy anything non-returnable guess that should of been the red flag."
