Corkum First Strike Medium Plain Edge Knife -
These are unique knifes in the CRKT catalog, including their blade grinds, edges, and hand wrapped handles. They are knives different in almost every way from familiar Western knives. The blades are 440A stainless steel in a satin finish. The blade shape is a combination of the ancient chokuto straight sword and the classic mohora zukuri double edge tanto. The grind is a convex zero edge, or appleseed cross section, resulting in an edge that is much stronger than taper or hollow grinds. The massive blade thickness continues through the tapered full tang, resulting in incredible strength from tip to butt.

440A Stainless Steel -
440A is a US standard of a martensitic stainless steel. It is known to keep a hard edge but not as tough as some of the other martensitic stainless steel.

Fixed Blade -
A fixed blade is a solid piece of steel, anchored to the handle without any folding mechanisms. It's durable and holds up well against the elements.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

Full Tang -
The term full tang means that the knife and sword is one solid piece with the two handle pieces are pinned on to the blade, one on each side. Thi s is the strongest of the tang types. Half tang knives go the length of the knife handle, but only half the width of it.
