"Spyderco's knives are always top-notch products, but some can be, well, not very pretty (their Harpy model, for instance, scares the heck out of people who don't like knives). This one, however, is about as beautiful as a strong utility knife can be. The way the curve of the blade matches the curve of the handle is sheer poetry (and the fact it does that open or closed is just icing on the cake). The spiderweb motif molded into the handle makes it wonderfully non-slip, and the movable pocket clip means you can wear it strong side or weak side, point-up or point-down, your choice (I bought one for each side). The famous Spyderco hole makes it simple to open one-handed, and this is one knife you can hand to somebody that won't get \"this thing scares me\" comments. The blade can be sharpened nicely, and holds a good edge, but don't pry with the tip, as it will snap off cleanly a quarter-inch down (great for slicing bagels and opening boxes of delicate items, but not so good if you require a point on your knives). Treat this knife right, and you can count on a long, happy service life. My favorite feature? Stamped into the base of the blade are the words \"Spyderco, Golden, Colorado, USA, Earth.\" Looks like Spyderco wants you to know this is one of the most beautiful knives on any planet."

"The blade is great.... the handle seems cheap. There's no way of tightening the blade if it comes loose. It's held together with a non-tightening pivot. I'll keep it as an around-the-house knife."

"This was my second try at finding a new EDC knife. The first was a Cold Steel Mini-Recon. The Cold Steel was OK, but just didn't feel right. The edge was not razor sharp, either. I can say that both of those problems are fixed, and I have a knife that will probably serve me the rest of my life. This Spyderco Native is one SEXY knife! It was also razor sharp right out of the box, and I have the missing patch of hair on my arm to prove it. Everything about this knife just screams quality. The other nice thing is that the size is absolutely perfect for me. I think an EDC knife has to walk a fine line between being too big to carry, and too small to be practical. The Spyderco Native fits that niche perfectly, and feels perfect in my hands as well. I see why Spyderco has a stellar reputation for quality. I can honestly say this is the nicest knife I've ever owned, and you will NOT be disappointed if you buy one for yourself!"
