Kershaw Volt II Partially Serrated Folding Knife
Knife is designed by R J Martin and features a 3 1/8" part serrated drop point blade made of 8CR13MoV stainless steel. The blade of this Kershaw knife has a non reflective bead blast finish, a notched thumb ramp for secure grip, a Flipper and SpeedSafe Assist for ambidextrous one hand opening. The textured black injection molded Polyimide handle, 3 7/8" closed, has finger grooves for secure purchase, dual steel liners and a grooved back spacer for strength, a liner lock and a lanyard hole. An end to end reversible steel pocket clip is included with this Kershaw Knife. The Kershaw Volt II Knife has an overall length of 7" when open, weighs 3.4 ounces, and is imported.

Drop Point Blade -
This blade has a gentle, sloping convex curve to the point versus the concave curve of the clip blade. Being thicker, this blade point is stronger for heavier tasks. It stands up to abuse well, but isn't as effective for easy penetration.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

8Cr13MoV -
Chinese stainless steel tempered at the Rc56 to Rc58 range and used in the Tenacious, Persistence, and Byrd lines of knives.

"First of all, let me say that I'm not a knife expert. I just wanted a decent quality mid-size pocket knife with a partially serrated blade. I don't need a $100 knife, and I didn't want a $10 POS. I did my research, and I read a lot or reviews on different sites before I ordered this knife. When it arrived (just 2 days after I ordered it), I was amazed. It came insanely sharp. I've never had a pocket knife that could shave hairs off my arm like a razor, but this one can with ease. I'm almost intimidated by its sharpness. The product description mentioned \"assisted opening\", but I didn't quite know what to expect. This is a great feature. The blade pops out and locks with an authoritative \"click\" that is very switchblade-esque. Closing the blade is easy, but I can't ever imagine it unlocking and closing up by accident. I trust it. The opening and closing actions are very smooth. Everything about this knife is comfortable in my hand, except maybe the pocket clip. The flipper knob has an easy and comfortable placement for my index finger, and the handle's subtle finger grooves are perfectly positioned. The handle's texture seems just right; not too slippery, not too coarse. Also, the knife is very light, yet very solid. There is absolutely no play or wobble in the blade. It is tight and solid. The pocket clip is very tight, and feels strong. If it's clipped to your pocket, it will never just fall out. I might end up removing the clip, just because it rubs my hand a bit, but I'll wait until I finally decide whether I'll carry it clipped or just loose in my pocket. Also, the \"jimping\" on the back of the blade is a very nice feature. It really does give you much more control and a better grip. Like I said, I'm not a knife expert, but this one impresses the hell out of me. I like it so much that I just ordered the Kershaw Skyline."

"I've been toting a pocket knife of one type or another for about 30 years. Everywhere from construction yards to the Army to the back woods. This is my favorite medium sized pocket knife so far. Just the right size to clip on your blue jeans pocket. It fits perfectly in my hand. It is strong construction, yet still light. It opens faster and easier than any other knife I have ever owned. It holds a good edge. Great price. What more could you ask for?"
