Tanto Groove Knife -
The Kershaw Tanto Groove is a highly durable, outdoor knife that provides excellent rust resistance. Made with Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel with 3D machined grooves and Tungsten DLC black coating, the blade retains its sharpness with proper use and care. The Tanto's 410 stainless steel handle gives a solid grip with its Tungsten DLC black coating and black G-10 overlays. Knife opens easily; using just the index finger of one hand and a frame lock secures the blade in place.
Tanto Blade -
This knife blade was inspired by the shape of the Japanese sword blades. The point to this style blade is in line with the spine of the blade. The tanto has a reinforced point which is thick and strong and is good for heavy duty stabbing cuts.
Sandvik 13C26 -
Made of martensitic stainless chromium steel. After heat treatment the steel grade is characterized by high hardness, good corrosion resistance, and very good wear resistance. It is used mainly for razor blades, but is also the standard grade for surgical knives and for different types of industrial knives for the food industry.
410 Stainless Steel -
Grade 410 is the basic martensitic stainless steel; like most non stainless steels it can be hardened by a "quench and temper" heat treatment. It co ntains a minimum of 11.5 per cent chromium. It achieves maximum corrosion resistance when it has been hardened and tempered and then polished. Grade 410 is a general purpose grade often supplied in the hardened, but still machinable condition, for applications where high strength and moderate heat and corrosion resistance are required.
G-10 Handle -
Apoxy filled woven glass fiber; it is extremely stable, unaffected by temperature changes, and can be decoratively tinted, ground, and polished. G-10 makes excellent handles and handle scales for knives.
Frame Lock -
Also known as the Integral Lock or Monolock. The Frame Lock is a locking mechanism invented by custom knife maker Chris Reeve for the Sebenzas an update to the liner lock. The Frame Lock works in a manner similar to the liner lock but uses a partial cutout of the actual knife handle, rather than a separate liner inside the handle to hold the blade in place.
Removable Pocket Clip -
This feature allows for tip up or tip down carry, or the clip can be removed completely.
