Dragonfly FRN Serrated Folding Knife -
The Dragonfly's diminutive size belies its cutting capabilities. When need be, it will cut and perform like a much larger folder because Spyderco's R&D team focused on creating a small but ergonomically superior package out of high performance materials.

In order for the knife to feel like a larger knife in the hand, it needed well designed ergonomics. A forefinger choil and thumb rest gives the hand purchase points, filling out the palm and offering cutting control. Its leaf shaped blade is flat ground VG-10 and the Spyderco Round Hole is 11mm facilitating easy opening. FRN handle is textured with Volcano-Grip and a tip up integral pocket clip. Low profiled and weighing just over one ounce, the Dragonfly is one of the flagship models in Spyderco's Little Big Guy Knife line up.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

AUS 8 -
A Japanese made medium carbon, high chromium stainless steel, which offers a good balance of toughness, edge sharpness an d corrosion resistance.

Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon (FRN) -
A nylon polymer mixed with glass fiber that is then injected into a mold for making lightweight knife handles.

Tip Up and Tip Down -
Refers to which direction the folded knife if positioned by its pocket clip. When closed and clipped in a pocket, whichever direction (up or down) the blade's tip sits defines if it is termed tip up or tip down.

Spyderco Trademark Round Hole -
Round hole located in the knife blade used for one hand opening and closing of a knife blade.

Volcano Grip -
Sydreco's trademarked name for the waffle texture found in our FRN handled lightweight knives. The continuous pattern of small squares offer better hand grip while cutting.

Integral Pocket Clip -
Pocket clip that is molded as part of (integral to) the handle rather than a separate component attached with screws. Found on Spyderco model C17 the Catcherman.

Flat ground -
Blade is typically ground uniformly from the blade back right to the edge.

Finger Choil -
A purposeful and specific area or curve cut out between the blade and handle. It creates a grip position point closer to the cutting edge for better control while cutting.
