"this knife outdid my expectations! not only is it everything i expected, its that and then some! The blade is thick, and it has a good firm feel to it. the sheath is actually really well made, not what you would expect from a made in china knife. what gets it five bullets instead of four is the cool little sharpening blade that comes attached with the sheath in a hard plastic sectional attached to the sheath. the only downside to this knife is that its to heavy to take backpacking, \"my original intentions for its use\""

"When i bought this knife i thought the blade would actuly be curved but it was just a straight blade with a sharpening stone. As luck would have it i had bought a curved blade from the flee market and wanted a straight blade insted so sweet. The problem i got with the curved blade i had bought was if the shielth is attached shielth was being pulled on as well as the knife the big part would get stuck in the shielth and not budge, so if u needed to get the knife off your belt in a hurry u are kinda screwed enless u hold the shielth with your other hand and pull it out. The blade came very sharp and the shielth had a bilt in sharpening stone holed and the stone, it was also very well made."

"I purchaseed one of these knives from a different store than CTD, but it is thesame thing. It is great for cutting like a hatchet or a machete, but a little small. I could not put a great edge on it because it was so curved and I use a flat wetstone. I would recommend a ceramic rod or one of the newer carbide sharpeners for this. However, it recieves four stars for its durability and its feel in the hand, but it sort of sucks that is is hard to sharpen."

"Buy 4 and give them to your friends. The sturdiest knife I've owned. Did I mention you can throw it, and chop a tree down and scar the crap out of just about anyone. Thats not a knife, THIS IS A KNIFE!!! Great grip and thick blade.$10.00??????? WHAAAAAT?"

"I had been thinking about ordering one of these for a while, and finally got two of them. I am super impressed. The nylon sheath is very well made and rivited with a big loop to fit on almost any pistol belt. Nice little sharpening stone is on the sheath, too. The blade is think and would make either a great survival tool or weapon if stuck in the woods. This is not a perfectly balanced blade because there is so much more weight towards the tip, but I think the extra heft of the blade makes it a fair \"trade-off\". The black coating on the blade is thick and I don't think will wear off easily. This is one of the best values I have gotten in mail order in a long time. I would like to thank \"CTD\" for making this item available."

"For the $ this is a very good product. Heavy steel with a parkerized finish. The sheath is a little on the light side but well made...I indend to buy a 2nd on my next order."

"Great knife if you like the out doors and want something to clear shooting lanes/ chop bones / ligaments, this is it. Not the prettiest or lightest, but its sharp and heavy and has a nice concave blade that you can get some swing into."

"For the price, this knife will do the job. The only thing i disliked was the nylon sheath it is a little too loose for my likeing. I will definately be buying more on my next order."

"I just got the item listed today, and boy am I pleased. its just as described, the handle is really well fixed to the blade, and the sheath is accually a sheath, not just some pieces of nylon sewn together! Im so happy with this, I plan to but some of the other knife styles in the future!"

"I received my knife and was pleased with the value for the money. I've already used it to take the bark off a hickory pole to make a hiking pole. It stripped and cut great, and the handle was comfortable all during the work. I'd reccomend it for rough work around the house or campsite."

"$10...you have got to be kidding me! I read the reviews and was a bit skeptical at first, but went ahead and ordered a couple. They not only got here in two days, but they were a LOT nicer than I expected! They feel really solid in the hand, a nice weight. The edge was descent, a few licks with a sharpening stone and I was in business! I have no doubt that it could easily take care of a small tree, wood for a campfire, or whatever you need to get done. Cuts through paper quite easily too! So, nuff said, buy one!"

"I purchased one of these in store a few days ago and it is everything everyone has commented and more. It is heavy enough to take large branches, and will last a long long time. You won't be disappointed."

"A friend told me about this blade and I laughed. I saw it was getting good reviews, so I figured I'd go out on a limb and purchase it. Came in a couple of days and I was impressed when I picked up the box. It has some weight to it. Blade was sharp as sin but only in some places. Few strokes down the honing steel and that was fixed. My only real complaint is the handle is slightly lose at the hilt (if you swing the knife and stop suddenly the handle 'clicks'). All in all, spend the $10."

"Bought two, came with sheath that holds the blade pretty secure and button clasp over the blade handle. Not as heavy as I imagined, but held up well to some of my tests I put knives through. The grips are rubber and well formed, but it wouldn't hurt to get a pair of gloves when using it long term. Will buy more when the backorder is resolved (hope I didn't cause it)."

"I bought two of these initially, wish I bought more when I pulled them out of the box. Knife is not reflective steel but is a dark gray textured type of steel, except the edge of the blade which is reflective. Has a molded rubber handle which provides a good grip but may feel loose when sweaty. I suggest wearing finger hole gloves when using this. Slightly on the heavy side, but durable when slashing into trees, boxes and birthday presents. They came somewhat sharp but definitely couldn't hurt to use a sharpener. Only problem is I can't find a practical use for it besides home defense and opening coconuts. I only home they get more soon because they are well worth it."

"I bought this knife after seeing reviews of a similar manufactured knife on knifetests.com (the bowie shaped one). Needless to say, I have already used my knife for serious batoning tasks, splitting and preparing wood for my fireplace. I've used full impact blows to split and chop wood, blade is fine, some of the coating has come off but that comes with the territory. The blade holds an edge, I've sharpened it almost razor sharp using my Spyderco Sharpmaker. I'm a real believer now that you don't have to pay big bucks for a solid reliable quality knife, and although I have already paid big bucks on some of my other knives, this one makes me wonder why I don't just buy 8 more of these low cost knives and just sell off my CS Recon Tanto. Nah .... the tanto is cool and now I don't have to use it for any \"dirty work\". lol."

"Went camping without an axe (big mistake) but this knife filled the gap. Used it to chop logs into kindling all weekend which was a pain in the butt, but this knife rose to the task. A little shaky in the handle as a result, but understandable in the circumstances. Ten bucks is a steal for this fellah, I don't think I could break this thing if I tried."

"I was skeptical, I bought the bolo blade \"ROUGH USE\" knife and was proven wrong. This will surely be a tool you can't skip over in your SHTF gear. I am a little dissappointed by the textured covering on the blade, but I can overlook that. The blade is 3/16 of an inch at the thickest part, and the tip is blunt tapered, meaning there is a lot of metal to prevent a broken tip. The sheath is mediocre, but for 9 bucks, this is an investment with a cheap price, and a hefty return. Buy it if you like the bolo shaped blades in your inventory! BTW, I haven't used the blade hard yet, but I do not feel the handle is loose."

"This knife is going to be a great addition to my truck. It's not pretty but workhorse tools like this seldom are. The black coating is tough as nails and feels more like a spray-on bedliner than a knife coating. Obviously it's not going to last me forever, but for less than $10, this thing is twice as nice as I expected. The edge is sharpened more like an axe blade than a knife edge - which is fine for the tasks this knife will, mostly, be relegated to - but it does mean I'll have to sharpen it more often. If you don't buy one of these, you're missing out."
5.0 5
"This knife is very, very well made. Treat it well and it could last for a long time. It had a good sharp edge on it when I received it and I have not needed to sharpen it. And I have used it fore cutting kindling from 2x4 and larger pieces of wood (such as rounds that were cut into pie shaped pieces). The only sign of wear on the blade that is apparent are two nicks, both from accidentally hitting nails dead on in pieces of wood i was cutting. It also has a good weight to it so you can get a really powerful swing. The handle is very comfortable and gives a good grip. This knife is also good for de-limbing trees and branches. And the best part, you don't feel bad about getting dirt and gunk on it like you would with an $80 K-Bar knife. Very good knife."
5.0 5
"I ordered this knife after seeing a review on it from www.knifetests.com. This knife lasted almost as long as a $300 dollar knife he tested. When I got this knife I put it through a field test. I used it to split 6\" pieces of wood. Cut off branches and some curving. The blade held up great no dents or damage. My hand did not do so well. The sheath is not very good. Plan on buying a better one. For the price you can't go wrong. When i'm hiking and need something cut i don't have to worry about damaging a $300 dollar knife. This ones cheaper and if it breaks just buy another one but i don't think it will."

"This knife is amazing, I've had it for a couple months now and it rocks! Easy to sharpen the blade! Great buy!"
5.0 5
"I purchased this about 7 days ago. This knife it awesome. I went to \"Thwack\" some brush in our yard and it felt sturdy. If you're going to be using this for hacking buy the bolo knife. The other knives are great but this one gets the job done. I'll definitely buy one or two more!"

"I wanted a good \"LARGE\" knife, and was looking at a few other, higher priced models between $50 and $150... i saw this gem at CTD's CQB range and as soon as i held it, had to have it... I can't write anything new that hasn't been said already in other reviews, and everyone is right! You will not be disappointed when you buy this knife, especially for the price! Its a \"BIG BAD@$$ KNIFE,\" and is ready to do whatever you want it too... the Bowie version rough use knife is on www.knifetests.com and outperforms most other higher end knives, when subjected to extreme abuse. If this is any sign of the pedigree in the Bolo version, then you've got a go everywhere do anything kinda knife that fits the bill, when you need a \"BIG OL'KNIFE\"..."

"I just received this knife and I have to say I was more impressed than expected. I receintly viewed knifetest.com's test on the bowie which promted me to rush out and get this knife. It came promptly and was paper slicing sharp right out of the box! A few licks on the honing rod and it was hair shaving sharp. The sheath is functional but not great at all, however the money I saved on such a good knife will allow me to make a nice leather one. If you've a few dollars laying around this knife is a must! You can toss it in a pack, BOB, or vehicle and forgit about it. It will be ready when needed! Very impressed!"
5.0 5
"Just a couple things to say: very heavy, thick, and sharp blade. Super sturdy handle with a nice lanyard hole. I dont know why everyone else hates the sheath, I think its fine. Not superb, but easily as good as anything you'll get from the local sporting goods store. For only $10 this is a fantastic deal."
5.0 5
"Ok, my first thought when I saw this knife on CTD was, looks like some cheap junk. But after reading the reviews I decided to order two. All I can say is I'm impressed. The two I ordered are good solid knives with excellent weight for \"chopping\" some kindling or smaller sized branches for a camp fire. The grip is similar in feel to a Ka-Bar I ordered with that slight \"tacky\" feel, making it unlikely to slip out of your grip. ALSO CTDs shipping continues to be great, ordered LATE Friday afternoon, FED-EX'd half my order OVERNITE without any extra cost, the other half shipping from a different warehouse will be here on Monday."

"If this thing ever breaks (which I doubt), I'll be out a few bucks and I'll go buy another one. I haven't seen a better knife for this price. I'll probably put it in the survival egress pack for the inevitable social chaos to come. Great buy."

"decided to buy this knife just because i didnt have any other big ones. i took it to my friends house to test it and we started chopping bamboo with it. i also threw it in to the ground climbed a small cliff with it and now it is still sharp. would recommend a million times over. crappy sheath though. But I think I'm beating a dead horse for saying that."

"This is a good knife for the money. Very solid and comnfortable grip. Value doesnt get any better than this, enough said."

"Shipping was 3 days, got the knife with a resonable blade and a nothing special sheath. For ten bucks, it does what I got it for. Digging, prying, hacking, carving, and if all else fails you could even use it for a spear. Why pay $60 for a Ka-Bar your scared to get dirty or acually use {or loose} when this will do the job just a well? The grip does have a odor that gets on your hands but over time that wears off. This is a cheap way to get things done without a saw or axe for smaller projects."
4.0 5
"Good solid blade to get nasty with. This is great for a Bug Out Bag when you got to go and don\uFFFDt have your Ka-Bar on you. It has a chincy sheath yes, but for this price what do you expect, Kydex? I plan on buying more and giving them as gifts. Now if CTD could only have a \"Rough Use\" Multi-Tool for this price that would be cherry!"

"I read the great reviews for this knife, so I bought one. Maybe they are shipping a different knife now as the sharpener mentioned in several reviews was not there. The knife is BIG heavy and thick. It came Very dull and with the width of the kinife 1/4 in. from the edge being 1/8 in.wide, it is almost impossible to get it sharp. I have tried files, grinders, ect. The knife is just too thick to get a sharp edge on it. It is more like a hammer than a knife!"
5.0 5
"I bought the bowie version of this knife first. I liked it so much, I bought the bolo version, too. I've got a pretty extensive collection of knives, but I always cringe when using a great (but expensive) blade for those prying, chopping, or digging jobs. These \"rough use\" are perfect. For this low price I have a knife I can beat the heck out of and not even flinch. And the bolo is a champion chopper. Does it hold an edge like a Busse or a Scrap Yard Dog? No, but I won't cry if I chip the edge out, either! If you want a knife you can abuse and not worry about it, get one of these!"
5.0 5
"What an amazing knife. I take it on my backpacking excursions and no problems yet. But if I have one. I will just throw it away, and buy another. One night, we got bored while camping, and decided to have a knife throwing contest. The knife held up great!! Way better than the more expensive knives. I recommend buying two of them. They are great for rugged knives, and you don't have to worry about it. They re-sharpen in a heartbeat and hold a great edge!"
1.0 5
"This knife may not cost much, but it's also very poorly made. It came very dull and, given the profile of the knife, it takes a lot of work to get it even moderately sharp. Worse, part way through trying to get an even halfway respectable edge on it, and I notice that the steel blade/tang wobble in the handle. Of course it could be that I got a lemon, and they aren't all like this. Save your money for something that will last more than 15 minutes!"
5.0 5
"Well to start off, I love this knife. I seriously can't stop using it. I have torture tested it, and it has gotten a thumbs up from me. I have chopped a brick in half with it, thrown it for hours on end (and often missing and hitting gravel or rocks), and cut brush with it. The only thing wrong with it now is a slight wobble in the tang. The edge held up great (able to peel an apple after chopping the brick). Seriously guys, get this knife. Get 5 and give them away as presents. Thats what I plan on doing soon."
4.0 5
"I just got it in the mail about ten minutes ago. very solid and fairly sharp. A few minutes with the sharpener, and no problems. The sheath is nylon with plastic insert. It's fine until you get a better sheath. A great knife for the price."
5.0 5
"Excellent Knife, Some of the reviews on here was saying a loose handle was the only problem with this knife i just received my Bolo and have already put it trough a battery of tests where it performed as well as any knife i have ever purchased even though the powder coat black finish is kinda fragile and has chipped away toward the knifes tip and handle it isn't the best paint job but hey your buying a rough use knife not a car EXCELLENT buy EXCELLENT price overall 5 bullets!!!!"
4.0 5
"It chops and lobs and pretty much will not dice. It is a good chopping knife but not good at cutting or slicing. If you chop near a fence then you will have dings on your blade that is why a 4 star. But, it is inexpensive, handle and overall feels good in hands, and when you take it out and do work in your yard your neighbors will run inside and cower!!! Hah hah hah... very intimidating blade I guess......"
5.0 5
"Have had this for a month or so... really looking forward to our next canoe and camping trip. Have used it some, mostly light use. The weight and handling are great for it's purpose."
5.0 5
"As soon as I got this knife I knew it was a great value. The handle is a nice, hard material that seems rubberized... just the right amount of \"give\", and it gives great purchase when handling the knife. Nothing at all was loose on my knife... very solid. The coating of the blade looks neat, but I'm gonna bet that as I test further that it chips off, as it just appears to be an outer coating and not an anodizing of the metal. The blade on the knife I received was nice and sharp, and looks like it will accept a sharpening w/o issue. I haven't had much of a chance to use the knife in a rough manner, but I can't imagine a situation where this knife wouldn't be worth the money paid. Don't have any concerns about buying this item... it will return at least as much as you paid for it! I'm gonna pick up the other 2 models!"
4.0 5
"I love this knife! I got it just to abuse before spending more on a upper end knife of the same build. Needless to say I'm sticking with this one! I took it on a camping trip and used this rather then a hatchet, and cut all out fire wood for a bonfire. Still just as sharp as when I got it, powder coat on the blade although dirty (hard to clean) didn't chip or show signs of wear. So good I bought the Bowie version too and just as good."
5.0 5
"This knife truly is what the Doctor ordered. A very hefty, very well made, extremely well balanced rough use blade. It is not cheaply or poorly made, in fact the knife truly has value beyond it's low price. The length and weight of it make it perfectly suited to be a short machete, and a very practical long knife. Price for value, this is the knife you want to buy!"
4.0 5
"Overall this is a good knife, and for the price, you get what you pay for. The only concern I have is the blade being a little loose from the grip. Not a big deal, nothing that can't be fixed, and again, for the price, even with the repairs your getting a great knife."
4.0 5
"I ordered two and both exceeded my expectations, nice sturdy blade I use one for light yard work, and the other as an addition to my SHTF gear. It's obviously not on the same level as Ka-bar but for the money, I'm happy and you could easily sell this knife for double it's price. Thanks CTD."
5.0 5
"I got this for camping, and I must say for the price you can't beat it. I was expecting something far cheaper in my hand. This thing feels great and with a little sharpening, is great for everything I need it for. I gave it 5 bullets simply for the price alone. A great buy."
5.0 5
"Great knife, came sharp right out of the box, not overly heavy but solid and stout. Handle is made of some type of rubber composite which has a really nice and comfortable grip. Sheath is nylon with a rigid plastic insert for the blade. I really wish I would have bought 2 of these. They'll make great gifts for my dad and bro at Christmas time!!! ROLL TIDE!!"
5.0 5
"This is the best $10 knife you can buy. Although it is heavy, I do not expect it to break any time soon. I will be buying more from this company very soon."
2.0 5
"I ordered 2 rough use knives. The bolo and the bowie. The bowie came in a box with no brand name and was thick and heavy just like I thought it would be. The bolo came in a box labeled Mtech USA. It was very similar to the bowie, but you could tell they weren't of the same manufacture. Anyway, I opened the box and said, \"awesome!\". I went over to an 4x4 fence post and gave a test swing. Then I gave another test swing and it broke. A chip the size of the tip of my little finger was missing from the edge. This was an old 4x4 that was turning green, because it was rotting in the weather. I must have just got a bad one. I tried to break it some more and was hitting an old oak door with it. It never did break again, but I am returning it for a new one. The bowie wasn't as sharp, but it didn't break either. I'll review the new one when it comes in."
5.0 5
"This knife is really strong and thick. It comes really sharp and is a pretty big knife. The handle has a really good firm grip to it and will be really hard for it to slip out of your hands. I took this to a camping trip with me and it was 100% stronger and faster to chop logs with! It can cut through even the thickest of branches!. Over all this is a really strong and good knife to have!!! I think this knife should be at least worth 75-90 dollars!!! and is the best deal you could get!!!!"
5.0 5
"This knife does seem tough. For the price you really can't go wrong. It's made by \"mtech\". I would recommend it."
4.0 5
"Big, thick knife. Doesn't come very sharp but a file can fix that pretty quick. For the price, it's great - however the tang is a little loose from the handle. I can hear/feel a knock when I swing it. There is some give there. More annoying than anything. I was able to chop some wood pretty easily after I sharpened it."
5.0 5
"The knife looks good and the grip and balance feel good. It is a bit heavy, though. The sheath is pretty hokey but it holds up. It is a great knife to sling on your backpack and forget about until you need it."
4.0 5
"I purchased 5 of these knives for my family just to have a solid knife for camping, hiking, etc. These knives are well built. I was very impressed with them. The are thick-bladed and 440 stainless steel. I also really like the coating on the blade too. It's very durable and truly protects the blades surface. It does not scratch off easily either. The blade is full-tang, which means there is not a weak connecting point where the handle meets the guard. I also love the non-slip rubber grip. The sheath is ok. It's not the best, but it does work. The blade slides down into a plastic reinforced sheath which is great. My only complaint with the sheath is the securing snap fits the knife loosely, but it's not a show-stopper That's why I gave it 4 bullets instead of 5 bullets. Buy this knife. For the price, you will be very pleased!"
5.0 5
"I cannot believe the price on this knife. I bought it assuming that it might be of average quality, but then u get it in your hands and it has such a solid feel and rigidity to it that it makes me believe that this knife should be priced at least 10 times this much. Absolutely amazing performance, and the sheath that comes with it has a pouch that holds a grinding stone to sharpern it, which was included also. This and some paracord comprised my first ever purchase from cheaperthandirt.com and I can say that I will be coming to this site with all of my survival/self reliance needs."

"great fixed blade for the price. highly recomended. BIG KNIFE"
5.0 5
"Ordered the knife and was pleased when I got it. Good weight, good build, and yes not the sharpest knife, but with the right stones, it will get a really good edge. I will be ordering another one (or two) of these, they are great for rough every day use."
5.0 5
"Wow! I thought it might be manufacture hype when i saw all the 4/5 Bullet ratings but its not. Just got my Bolo and it is amazing. So sturdy and way thick. I was expecting it to be thin and flimsy for the price. The grip is comfortable and fits my fat hand great. The sheath isn't the greatest but its not the piece of crap everyone said it is. I can't believe I only paid 10 bucks for this. I am recommending this to my friends and family. Thanks CTD, you rock!!!"

"This knife is the best. I have cut many things and has not chipped or broke. I got it and was amazed it came with sharper and very sharp. I rate it 5 bullets and 100%."
5.0 5
"This thing is better than i expected. When i pulled it out of the sheath i was surprised how sharp it was already, and how sturdy it seemed. Gonna have to test it in the field. Thanks CTD"
5.0 5
"I love this knife. It is very solid and takes an edge well. The weight of the knife makes it fairly good for chopping kindling as well. Because the knife is so sturdy, I started throwing it at a very solid target. Even though the knife threw well and embedded very well, the handle did break after 30 or 40 impacts with the target. It still throws well, just not as pretty with the handle partly missing."
4.0 5
"I've recently bought one of these knives. It works very well for the price. Although I do have a problem with a wiggling handle is kind of annoying. But after I fix this it will be a wonder blade for the price."
3.0 5
"First off is it worth it yes. Do not be confused and think this is a quality knife, it's not. I bought both bolo and the Bowie, between the two this is the nicer. On both knives the blade angles were way off and a lot of sharpening is needed. I spent hours on each to get them true and sharp. As far as the handle rattle my Bowie does it but don't believe we will have to worry long because I don't think the handle will last that long anyway. But for the good, if you have a belt sander and good sharpening tools you will have a 40-50 dollar knife. Either way you are spending the money just with your own time. Knife is rugged and have no doubt it will handle itself well outdoors without a problem. It has nice balance for this type of knife, light near the finger guard and heavy towards the tip for good velocity for chopping. Will be an extra knife. I'm going to try while in Costa Rica so we will see how the edge holds up, down there it will show it's true colors."
3.0 5
"I purchased this knife solely for the low price. You get what you pay for, steel is cheap but thick, doesn't hold the best of an edge but if you just want something to use as a \"backyard\" knife then this will do. Wouldn't expect to ever take this on any type of expedition, would reserve my Ka-Bar for that."
4.0 5
"This is a great product for the price. I mean come on you would be a fool not to. Got mine last night, handle has a nice rubber grip, blade is thick and heavy just needs to be sharpend but I can't wait to get alot of use out of it!"
1.0 5
"FIrst off this knife is crap. Comes straight from China with a blade not even sharp enough to cut an apple! After I used it to chop off a few branches on a small tree, I threw it at my barn about 20 times before the handle fell right off. After later inspection I realized the tip was broken off. I threw it in the garbage can 2 hours after opening it, not worth the 20 bucks."
4.0 5
"What a knife. It arrived on schedule yesterday and came with a well stitched nylon sheath. The smell of the knife was pretty weird but that went away now. The finish on the blade is hard to describe, but it's very durable. The blade has nice weight to it, the back is probably 0.25\" thick, it's not bending anywhere. The edge was not sharp enough to cut paper by moving it across the blade but it cuts through wood like a beauty. You can take down a 2\"-3\" diameter tree in 2 minutes taking your time. The blade wobbled in the handle a tiny bit, that is the only reason I gave it a 4. Well spent money, highly recommended."

"Good knife to throw in your BOB or cab of your pickup.Take it to camp and use and abuse it. If you lose it....buy another!"

"Pros: Durable. Good quality. Good ergonomics. Looks cool (see: the first rule). Very well priced. Good coating on the blade.Cons: Handle could be made with a grippier material.Overall: It's not a cold steel but for most uses it will do the job. I did not expect it when I ordered it but I sincerely would trust my life to this knife. You could also buy these and up the price to your friends and acquaintances.. just saying. Need a capable knife for cheap go for this.Thank you for reading.Liberty will rise again..."

"I am buying one of each of these. I finally was able to break this one. Took all I could throw at it and then some. Ugly as sin, but...who said tactical had to be pretty?"

"Fun Fact: arrived sharp enough to shave hair. Obviously not the fanciest blade ever, but for $$ bucks, its a bargain."

"I reviewed this knife a while back titled \"broke with in 15 seconds\". I received a bad knife I guess. The replacement they sent me (which cost me nothing by the way) has been great! I've had it for a while now. I take it ginseng hunting and abuse the crap out of it. I chop roots that are in the way, briars and all kinds of things. I left the factory edge on it since I'm not known for my knife sharpening skills. It still cuts through paracord like its nothing even with the factory edge. It's a great companion to my cold steel kukri magnum machete."

"I got one of these a while back and did some test chopping, and initially wasn't terribly impressed. Brought it inside, looked at it, and decided to thin the edge a bit--this took a while, but it was slicing paper nicely when I was done. Finally got to test it some more recently, alongside my Becker BK-2 and it held its own chopping a section of southern live oak. No chipping or rolling visible. The BK-2 is .25\" thick and this knife is a bit thinner than that--3/16\", maybe? Still plenty thick. I'm planning to try it out on the seemingly petrified pecan I was chopping yesterday and compare it again with the BK-2, which had little trouble with it. My hatchet, on the other hand, kept bouncing off unless I hit it at quite an angle. The sheath--definitely cheap. The knife slided up and down in it, even with the retention strap snapped. I saw a video on youtube where a guy wrapped his with a piece of bicycle innner tube and duct tape and retention was much improved, so I may try something along those lines at some point. 1 bullet off for that. I'd make it half a bullet off if that was an option. One more thing--could someone please explain to me why people think that throwing a big, heavy knife that isn't specifically designed to be thrown seems like a good idea? And why they then rate it down when it breaks/fails? People, if you want a throwing knife, buy a throwing knife. Cold Steel makes some. Here, I'll make it easy for you: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2CS80TFTC-1.html - throwing knifehttp://www.cheaperthandirt.com/2CS80TOR-1.html - throwing spikesAnd, of course, there are others from other manufacturers."

"This is an excellent knife. I am sorry that they have chosen to discontinue it. I purchased 2 of them & they have done everything that I had asked of them. Came back to buy more & suffered the disappointment of not being here. Hope they are brought back soon."

"I bought the Bolo blade rough use knife. I tried using it to chop and was not very happy with it. I then worked the blade and thined out the edge and the knife kicks butt know. For the money it is a good buy. Wish it was made in the USA."
